Ezra tilted his head. Magic Gunslinger…?
A small smile crept across his face. Okay, that's pretty damn cool.
"What kind of class is that?" Kaito narrowed his eyes.
"A Magic Gunslinger?" Reina repeated, stepping closer. "I've never heard of that before."
Kenta whistled. "Yo, that sounds awesome! You get to use guns AND magic?"
Ezra grinned. "Apparently."
"What's Elementfang?" Ayaka adjusted her glasses, eyes narrowing.
Ezra rubbed his chin thoughtfully. A blessing… sounds like a class-specific skill.
"Ezra, seriously," Arisa frowned. "Guns don't even exist in this world. How are you supposed to fight with one?"
Ezra's smile widened. "Guess we're about to find out."
Princess Cecilia stepped forward, her sapphire-blue eyes wide. "Magic Gunslinger… I've never heard of such a class before."
"I haven't either," said High Priest Galen, his single visible eye narrowing as he studied Ezra's status screen. "This class… and that blessing… They are not from this world."
King Alden Elarion, who had remained silent up until now, spoke from his elevated throne. His deep voice resonated through the hall.
"This is unprecedented." His steely gaze fell on Ezra. "The gods would not create such a blessing without reason."
Ezra's hand hovered over the screen. His gaze sharpened.
"Manifest Elementfang."
Black and silver energy crackled around his hand, forming a circular portal in mid-air. The portal pulsed with shifting elemental energy—crimson flames, blue frost, golden lightning, and green wind surged along its edges. The gun's barrel emerged first, long and slender with silver engravings. The cylinder followed, six chambers glowing faintly with different elemental auras. Finally, the grip formed, fitting perfectly into Ezra's hand as the weapon solidified with a sharp metallic click.
Ezra's eyes widened as he lifted the weapon, examining the intricate details.
Holy crap… This is awesome.
Ezra's grin widened.
"Hell yeah."
Ezra twirled Elementfang between his fingers, the silver and black barrel flashing under the dim cathedral lights. He smirked, resting the gun on his shoulder.
"Not bad," he muttered to himself.
"Holy crap, Ezra… that thing is insane!" Kenta said, eyes wide.
"That's definitely not normal magic," Ayaka frowned, adjusting her glasses.
"That gun… it's dangerous," Sayaka said quietly from the background.
Daiki's grin widened. "It looks awesome though. That's some serious firepower."
"I… I've never seen anything like that," Reina said, watching the dark energy pulse faintly from the gun's barrel.
"Of course, he would get something flashy," Rika scoffed, arms crossed.
Ezra chuckled, spinning the gun again. "What can I say? Style points matter."
The king and the high priest, however, barely spared Ezra a glance.
Instead, they stepped toward Kaito.
"Hero of Light," King Alden said, his deep voice reverberating through the hall. "You truly are the one chosen by the gods."
High Priest Galen nodded, his single visible eye sharpening. "It is as the prophecy foretold. The Hero of Light has returned."
Kaito's mouth curled into a confident smile. He straightened his back, resting his hand on the hilt of his sword.
"I'll do whatever it takes to protect this kingdom," Kaito said smoothly. "The light will always prevail."
"Of course," the king said. "Your strength will be a beacon for the people."
"You will lead our forces to victory," Galen added.
Kaito's golden eyes glimmered with pride as he nodded. "It's only natural."
Ezra snorted. "Hero of Light, huh?"
Kaito's gaze shifted toward Ezra, his eyes narrowing. "Something funny?"
Ezra shrugged. "Oh, nothing. Just wondering why you're getting all the attention."
"Because I'm the Hero of Light," Kaito said, his tone sharpening. "It's my destiny."
Ezra's grin widened. "Destiny, huh?"
Kaito's eyes narrowed. "You got a problem with that?"
Ezra leaned back, resting Elementfang casually on his shoulder. "Not at all. Just curious how far that 'destiny' will take you."
Before Kaito could respond, Princess Cecilia stepped between them, her sapphire eyes wide with worry.
"That's enough," Cecilia said softly. "We cannot afford to fight among ourselves."
Kaito's eyes lingered on Ezra for a moment before he exhaled through his nose and stepped back.
Princess Cecilia raised her staff. A glowing map of the kingdom materialized in the air above them.
"Heroes of another world," Cecilia said, her voice steady but laced with desperation. "You are the kingdom's last hope."
The map pulsed with light, highlighting areas near the border where red marks—enemy forces—were spreading.
"The Demon King has begun to move," Cecilia said. "His generals are laying waste to the outer territories. Our forces are already weakened. Without your strength, the kingdom will fall."
A heavy silence settled over the room.
Kaito's hand tightened on his sword hilt.
"Understood," Kaito said. He stepped forward confidently. "If it's to protect the innocent, then I'll fight."
Arisa scoffed, arms crossed. "Tch… what are you smirking at?"
Ezra's smile widened. He twirled his gun lazily around his finger. "Just taking it all in."
Reina stepped closer to Cecilia, her hands clasped together. "We can't refuse… can we?"
Daiki cracked his knuckles, his grin widening. "Sounds fun. I've been waiting for a real fight."
Ayaka pushed up her glasses. "We need more information before we act recklessly."
Sayaka remained silent, her cold gaze fixed on the map.
Ms. Tanabe stepped forward, her sharp eyes cutting through the tension.
"Before we do anything, we need tactical details," Ms. Tanabe said firmly. "Enemy movement patterns, troop strength, terrain."
Princess Cecilia nodded nervously. "Of course."
Ezra leaned against a nearby pillar, crossing his arms. He chuckled quietly to himself.
"A Demon King, huh…" Ezra muttered under his breath. "Sounds like a game."
Kaito's sharp gaze flicked toward Ezra.
"This isn't a game," Kaito said coldly.
Ezra's smirk deepened. "We'll see."
Tension sparked between them.
Kaito stepped closer. His golden eyes burned with quiet anger. "You think this is some kind of joke?"
Ezra raised an eyebrow. "You've got a problem with me?"
Kaito's gaze sharpened. "Yeah. I don't like people who slack off and expect others to carry them."
Ezra's smile faded slightly. His eyes narrowed. "Careful, golden boy."
Kaito took another step forward. "Unlike you, I'm not here to play games."
Princess Cecilia suddenly stepped between them again, holding up her staff.
"That's enough!" Cecilia's voice was sharp, cutting through the tension.
Kaito and Ezra's gazes locked for another lingering moment before Kaito turned away.
"Let's go to the training grounds," Cecilia said, her tone softer but urgent.
Tension still hung thick in the air as the group started moving.
Ezra spun Elementfang around his finger one last time, his smile returning.
"A rivalry, huh?" Ezra thought to himself. "This might get interesting."
