Tessa's POV
I sat in the cold, sterile hospital room, my fingers gripping the edge of the examination table. The white walls felt suffocating, the fluorescent lights too harsh, exposing every crack in my being.
When the hospital had informed me of the mix-up, they'd also told me to either make the decision of terminating it or keeping it. Of course, I chose the former. The baby's daddy was not Tyler, and I don't even know who he was.
Dr. Lily sighed, glancing at me over her clipboard. "Tessa, I need you to be absolutely certain about this decision. Termination is final."
I exhaled slowly. "I understand. And I am certain."
She hesitated before nodding. "Alright. But before I proceed with connecting you to the appropriate specialist, there's something you should know."
I frowned. "What is it?"
"The… biological father of the baby came to the hospital yesterday."
My heart stuttered. "What?"
Dr. Lily shifted in her chair. "Yes. He was informed about the mix-up—just as you were. And he left strict instructions that if you ever considered terminating the pregnancy, I should give you his address and ask you to meet him first."
I felt my pulse quicken. "You told him about me?"
"Not your identity. Just that the woman carrying his child was contemplating termination. He insisted on meeting you before you make your final decision." She reached into her desk drawer and pulled out a slip of paper, sliding it toward me. "Here's the address."
I stared at it, my hands refusing to move. "I don't see why I need to meet him," I muttered.
"Tessa, this is a complicated situation. I think it's fair that he gets to at least have a conversation with you before—"
I snatched the paper from the desk. "Fine. I'll meet him. But only to explain that I have no interest in carrying this pregnancy. He can find another egg. His sperm will be fine."
Dr. Lily gave me a long look but said nothing.
I stood abruptly. "Where is this place, anyway?"
She hesitated, then spoke. "It's an estate."
My brows lifted. "An estate?"
She nodded. "And a massive one at that."
I scoffed. "Of course it is."
---
The drive to the address was filled with silence and a growing sense of unease. When my GPS finally announced that I had reached my destination, my mouth fell open.
The estate wasn't just massive—it was ridiculous. Towering gates stood before me, lined with high-tech security cameras. A long driveway stretched beyond them, leading to what I could only assume was a mansion.
I pulled up to the gate, rolling my window down. A uniformed security guard stepped forward.
"Name?" he asked, his tone professional but firm.
"I—uh—Dr. Lily sent me."
His expression changed immediately. Without another word, he pressed a button, and the gates slowly creaked open.
Just like that? No ID check? No questioning?
Who the hell was this man?
I drove up the path, my anxiety growing with every second. The main house loomed ahead—modern yet classic, with towering pillars and sprawling balconies. It screamed wealth and power.
The second I stepped out of my car, a woman in an elegant black dress approached me. Her posture was poised, her expression unreadable.
"Miss Tessa, welcome," she said smoothly. "Please, follow me."
I hesitated but nodded, trailing behind her as she led me through the massive double doors. The interior was just as intimidating—polished marble floors, sparkling chandeliers, walls adorned with priceless art. It was the kind of place that made you feel small.
After a few turns, we stopped in front of a large oak door. The woman knocked once before pushing it open.
"He's expecting you," she said before stepping aside.
I walked in, my heart hammering.
The office was grand, just like everything else in this house. Floor-to-ceiling windows framed the city skyline, and shelves lined with leather-bound books filled one side of the room. A sleek black desk stood in the center, and behind it sat a man.
A man who exuded power.
He was leaning back in his chair, one hand resting on the armrest, the other adjusting the cuff of his expensive suit. His dark hair was neatly styled, his jaw sharp, his presence commanding.
He lifted his gaze to meet mine.
And my breath hitched.
There was something about him—something dangerous, something irresistible.
I swallowed. Tyler didnt lie afterall.
He's not just a billionaire. He's a massive billionaire.
