Chapter 2: A Childhood of Chaos (Ages 3-6)
The Wild Beasts of Foosha Village
By the time Luffy and Lucky turned three, they were already nightmares.
Foosha Village was usually a quiet, peaceful place.
But now—
"LUCKY! GET BACK HERE, YOU BRAT!"
A shopkeeper chased after a laughing little boy, who was balancing on top of a thin wooden pole like it was nothing.
Below him, another tiny boy was running away with a loaf of bread.
"Hehehe! MEAT IS THE BEST!" Luffy cheered as he chomped down.
Lucky, swinging down from the pole like a monkey, smirked. "Tch. You could've stolen more, idiot."
The villagers sighed.
Ever since Garp dropped them off, these two ran wild.
They climbed houses, stole food, got into fights, and almost never sat still.
But what scared people the most?
They were unnaturally strong for their age.
When one of the village boys tried to punch Luffy, he barely flinched before punching back—and the other kid flew five feet into the air.
When another kid tried to wrestle Lucky, Lucky flipped him over like a ragdoll.
Even at three years old, they were different.

Garp's Brutal Training
"LISTEN UP, BRATS!"
Garp stood over Luffy and Lucky, his arms crossed.
"You're both weak."
Luffy, panting on the ground, groaned. "Nghh… Grandpa… why do you hit so hard?"
Lucky, sitting up, spat dirt from his mouth. "Tch. Old man, one day I'm gonna dodge all your punches."
Garp grinned. "BAHAHA! THEN TRY IT NOW!"
BAM!
Without warning, his fist slammed into them both.
Luffy flew backward, rolling into a bush.
Lucky, eyes widening, tried to dodge but was still too slow—Garp's punch sent him crashing into a tree.
"UGH… Damn it…" Lucky growled.
Garp cracked his knuckles. "In a real fight, you don't get warnings. You react, or you lose."
Luffy coughed. "I… I don't wanna be a Marine…"
Garp stomped his foot. "WHAT WAS THAT, BRAT?!"
Luffy whined. "I WANNA BE FREEEEE!"
Garp twitched.
"LUCKY, YOU TELL HIM!"
Lucky, groaning, sat up. He dusted off his pants. Then, he looked Garp right in the eye.
"…Tch. I don't wanna be a Marine either."
Silence.
Garp's vein popped.
"WHAT?!!"
Before they could react—his fists crashed down.
BOOM!
The entire ground cracked beneath them.
For the next three days, Luffy and Lucky were buried up to their necks as punishment.

The Jungle Test
At four years old, Garp left them in the jungle alone.
"If you brats can't survive on your own, you'll never make it in this world."
The first night, they almost froze to death.
The second night, they were chased by wolves.
By the third night, they learned.
Luffy started fights with wild animals, forcing them to grow stronger.
Lucky, always watching, always thinking, figured out ways to use the jungle to their advantage.
When a giant boar attacked them, Luffy punched it—but it sent him flying into a tree.
Lucky, standing his ground, exhaled slowly.
For some reason, he felt… calm.
Then—
BOOM.
A wave of invisible pressure exploded around him.
The boar's eyes rolled back, and it collapsed.
Luffy's jaw dropped. "WHOA! WHAT WAS THAT?!"
Lucky, panting, muttered. "…I don't know."
They had awakened their Haki.

Age 6: The Day That Changed Everything
One day, while exploring, Lucky found a strange golden fruit.
It looked like a peach covered in swirling patterns.
It smelled amazing.
Without thinking, he took a bite.
In an instant—his body burned with power.
Visions of a warrior with golden fur, a red staff that could change size, and a cloud soaring through the heavens filled his mind.
Then, a voice whispered.
"You are the new Monkey King."
Lucky collapsed.
When he woke up, his body felt different.
Stronger. Faster.
And when he reached out—a long red staff materialized in his grip.
Luffy gasped. "WOAHHHH! WHERE DID THAT COME FROM?!"
Lucky smirked. Everything had changed.
And just a few months later—they met a red-haired pirate named Shanks.
