The decision was made—Beeru would join the academy. He had no money, no place to stay, and no other choice. The old man's advice lingered in his mind, and he knew that the academy was his best chance to grow stronger and survive in Zapthar.
Beeru approached the old man once more, his expression filled with gratitude. "Elder, can you tell me the route to the academy?"
The old man, who introduced himself as Eron, smiled knowingly. "The academy lies to the east, just outside the city. Follow the main road until you reach the large stone gates. You cannot miss it."
Beeru bowed slightly. "Thank you, Elder Eron. I won't forget this kindness. One day, when I become strong, I will repay you."
Eron chuckled, his eyes glimmering with wisdom. "I shall wait for that day, young one. Fate works in strange ways. Perhaps our paths will cross again when you have gained the strength to change things."
Beeru didn't quite understand the meaning behind Eron's words, but he nodded firmly and turned towards the eastern road. The academy was his next destination.

The journey was longer than expected. The city gradually faded into the distance, replaced by open fields and dense clusters of trees. Beeru walked tirelessly, eager to reach his destination. Finally, after what felt like hours, a grand structure appeared before him—the academy.
Tall stone walls surrounded the enormous complex, and at its entrance stood a pair of massive iron gates, guarded by two armored men. Their expressions were stern, their gazes sharp as they monitored everyone who approached.
Beeru stepped forward, his heart pounding with excitement. This was the place where he would train, grow, and prove himself.
"State your purpose," one of the guards commanded, gripping the hilt of his sword.
Beeru stood tall and spoke clearly. "I have come to take admission into the academy."
The guards exchanged glances before the second one shook his head. "This academy does not accept just anyone. Only those recommended by an ex-student can gain entry. Do you have such a recommendation?"
Beeru's excitement faltered. He had not expected this requirement. How was he supposed to get a recommendation? He had no connections, no acquaintances in this world outside of Aurelith.
Frustration began to creep in, but then, a memory flashed through his mind. The old man—Eron! He had given Beeru a seal before parting ways, mentioning that it could help him in the academy.
With newfound hope, Beeru reached into his storage ring and pulled out the seal. It was small, made of dark wood, and carved with intricate patterns. He held it up to the guards. "I was given this by an elder named Eron. He said it would help me enter the academy."
The guards immediately straightened, their eyes widening in recognition. One of them took the seal and examined it closely. "This is indeed a recommendation seal from an ex-student. And not just any student..." he murmured before looking back at Beeru with renewed respect.
The second guard nodded. "You may enter. Follow the path straight ahead, and you will reach the main hall where new applicants are processed."
Beeru took back the seal, his mind filled with questions. Who was Eron? Why did the guards react like that upon seeing his seal? What awaited him inside the academy?
With a deep breath, Beeru stepped through the gates, leaving the outside world behind. His journey in the academy had just begun.
