Chapter 1 - Shadows Beneath the Moon.

Life has always been full of events, and security is merely a concept that humanity has created in its minds to live more comfortably—or at least that's what I have always believed. Every day on my way to work, I reflect on the dreams I had about the future as a child and feel a sense of regret. Although imagination has always been my greatest companion, in the long run, it has held me back in life. Instead of striving for success, I often lost myself in daydreams. When I needed to think of solutions, I chose imagination as an escape.

I've been told that I'm unworthy, that I don't realize what I've lost. But they don't understand what I've gained in my imagination.

Today, like always, I was on my way home from work when I noticed a striking man with long silver hair, a narrow nose, and a sharp jawline. He was dressed in a white suit that seemed to emit a halo of light. His eyes were black, like an endlessly deep well—frightening, yet I couldn't look away.

I tried to stop staring and continued on my way, but I soon realized that the man, still smiling, was approaching me. With a voice that felt as if it could caress the soul, he began to speak.

"The man said, 'The fact that you managed to look away from me is an achievement in itself."

I couldn't stop thinking about what he meant. His words echoed in my mind, each syllable as enigmatic as the man himself. What was he hiding behind that cryptic smile and those deep, shadowy eyes? There was an aura about him, a blend of intrigue and unease, that made it impossible to dismiss his presence.

"What do you mean?" I finally managed to ask, though my voice barely audible

The man paused, his hauntingly black eyes narrowing slightly as if he were peering into something far beyond me. His smile deepened as he said, "It means that you have no interest in money, power, or material things, and you don't even know what you want from life—aimless and empty."

Empty... What a word. A concept I spent my entire life denying. And now, this man is reminding me that life is like a house of cards—losing all its meaning with the slightest gust of wind.

"Well, now what? What's the point of this conversation? If you're some kind of psychologist, you'd better just leave me alone, because I don't have the money to pay for these things!"

The man's smile disappeared, replaced by a serious expression. "No, of course not," he said firmly. "I simply wanted to offer you something—a proposal I don't make often. I wanted to know if you'd like to add some excitement to your life, to experience what it's like to have power. Perhaps a little adventure wouldn't hurt. But, of course, the choice is entirely yours."

I felt a strange sensation deep inside me, as if something was whispering that maybe, just maybe, listening to this man wouldn't be such a bad idea. After all, I had nothing to lose, and perhaps I could escape this monotony. I turned to him and said, "Alright, I'm listening. What's your offer?"

The man paused briefly before replying. "First, introductions. My name is Cyrus, and I don't usually do things like this. But I think you're worth it. Maybe, just maybe, some change could come from this—and trust me, it's worth it."

He took a step closer, his piercing gaze steady. "Let's not stray too far from the point. Look here," he said, holding out two small pills in his open palm. "I have two options for you. One will give you a complete restart—a chance to begin anew. The other will only change your life from this point onward. Both hold infinite possibilities within them."

He leaned slightly toward me, his tone almost daring. "So, which one do you choose?"

I felt like I was talking to a drug dealer, but looking at his face made it hard to believe. Maybe he was just a madman. Still, for some reason, I trusted him. I thought to myself that starting over is hard, so there was no reason to do that. I decided to continue down this path. I then told the man, "I'll take the second one."

He smiled and handed me the pill. As I looked at it, I was mesmerized by its green color, which seemed to glow. I wanted to ask him, "What now?" but he had vanished. No matter how much I searched, there was no sign of him.

When I got home, I pondered my decision and ultimately decided to take the pill. At worst, I'd die—things couldn't get worse than they already were. After all, young people these days are always trying different pills and accepting the risks, so why not try it just once?

I went out to the yard and, without hesitation, swallowed the pill. Suddenly, everything went black. The last thing I saw was the huge shadows beneath the moon.
