Chapter 17 - [17] The Crimson Princess

The third training field was the closest to the academy's main gate.

At this moment, about a dozen or so spectators sat in the stands, watching the fiery battle taking place within the arena, sneering and laughing among themselves.

"How could he possibly win against an A-Rank knight? He's just a lowly F-Rank knight."

"Exactly, and he's a repeat student too! He hasn't even participated in any real combat training!"

Such mocking comments echoed through the stands, with the spectators openly expressing their disdainful opinions.

"You said the same thing yesterday."

A girl holding a camera glanced back at the group behind her with a hint of disdain.

"Yesterday? What happened yesterday?"

"Yesterday's opponent at least had some skill, but today's is completely different. You must be a freshman, right? That guy is famously useless!"

Eiji walked into the training field and appeared at the lowest level of the stands. As soon as he entered, he heard the group arguing among themselves.

He glanced at them briefly before his gaze settled on the battle within the arena.

The hundred-meter-wide arena was once again the stage for two Blazers going all out. Unlike Eiji's clash with Kurono Shinguuji the day before, this battle was far more flashy and violent.

Kurono Shinguuji was also standing by the arena, seemingly acting as the referee for this match, her eyes locked on the two combatants.

Since they were using their inherent devices in their Illusionary Forms, there was no risk of fatal injury. What seemed to draw her attention was the direction of the battle.

Eiji's gaze followed hers to the two figures in the arena.

One of them was someone he knew well—Ikki Kurogane, whom he had met just over an hour ago at the school gate. Ikki was now wielding a jet-black katana-shaped device, struggling to dodge his opponent's relentless attacks, narrowly avoiding danger at every turn.

Facing him was a girl wearing the Hagun Academy female uniform, with fiery red twin tails that resembled flames.

Though she was a girl, she fought like a raging dragon.

She wielded a golden greatsword, almost as tall as a person, swinging it with such force that it created gusts of wind. By covering the blade in blazing flames, each strike she made caused the entire training field to tremble.

It was a literal earth-shaking display of power!

Her overwhelming strength forced Ikki Kurogane, whose physical abilities far surpassed Eiji's, to continuously dodge and retreat, unable to even consider blocking.

If he were to foolishly attempt to block, he would undoubtedly be crushed by the sheer force of her attacks in an instant.

This was the kind of terrifying power the girl possessed.

The fiery-haired girl relentlessly pressed her attack, forcing Ikki to retreat again and again, leaving him no opportunity to counterattack. The battle was completely one-sided.

"It's not just her strength—it's the difference in Magical Power."

Eiji's dynamic vision hadn't been extensively trained and couldn't compare to true masters, but among Student Knights, it was still considered excellent. He could clearly see the situation on the field.

The girl facing Ikki Kurogane possessed a Magical Power far beyond that of an ordinary person. With every move, she radiated intense heat, and faint glowing light flickered around her—a clear sign of her overwhelming magical energy.

For a Blazer like Eiji, whose Magical Power was ranked F, every ounce of magic had to be used precisely, with no room for waste. It was nearly impossible for him to release magic outside his body.

But for Blazers with B-Rank or even A-Rank magical power, they could freely expend their magic without worrying about waste or calculating how much they had left. They could simply unleash their full power to defeat their opponent.

"Of course!"

The girl holding the camera, who had been happily filming, let out an envious sigh upon hearing Eiji's mutterings.

"That girl's name is Stella Vermillion. She's the second princess of the small Nordic kingdom of Vermillion. Her total Magic Power is recognized as the strongest in the world!"

Stella Vermillion.

Just like he remembered Ikki Kurogane's name, Eiji naturally remembered this name as well. After all, she was the heroine of the story, a woman destined to rise to the top.

The battle between Ikki Kurogane and Stella was the beginning of the entire story. Eiji hadn't realized that their first fight happened to be today.

Thinking about it, he felt a bit nervous.

He had spoken with Ikki Kurogane earlier that morning. If the meeting between Ikki and Stella had been disrupted by the flapping of his tiny butterfly wings, it would have been his fault.

What? Was he worried about the plot changing?

To be honest, only someone who had suddenly crossed over and remembered the plot would worry about such things. As a reincarnated person who had been here for over a decade and had mostly forgotten the plot, Eiji had no reason to worry about the story.

Back to the topic at hand, just as the camera girl had said, Stella's total magical power had been officially recognized by the International Mage-Knight League as the strongest in the world.

In other words, there was no Blazer in the world who could surpass Stella in terms of Magic Power.

From another perspective, Stella also possessed the strongest magical burst and the strongest magical defense—both of which depended on the amount of magical power one had. Therefore, shaking the earth with a single strike was just a normal move for her.

"As expected of Princess Stella. Her opponent is completely suppressed. It won't be long before the match is decided, right?"

The camera girl couldn't help but sigh. "A miracle like yesterday's won't happen again. It's a shame—I won't have material for the second issue of the school newspaper."

The theme of the first issue had already been decided: "The Sudden Defeat of the Former World Rank 3! The Shocking Super Dark Horse Freshman!"

"That's not necessarily true."

Haha, I've always wanted to say a line like this!

The sudden comment from the side caught the girl's attention. The speaker's tone seemed confident.

"Look closely at the arena. Although Ikki Kurogane is completely suppressed, Stella Vermillion hasn't landed a single hit on him. In other words, the battle is still in a stalemate."

Upon closer inspection, it seemed to be true.

The camera girl quickly focused on the arena. Her dynamic vision was far inferior to Eiji's, but she could still see that the black-haired boy's dodging seemed effortless, and he hadn't sustained any injuries.

"It really is!"

The camera girl, having discovered what seemed like a miracle, couldn't help but exclaim. She quickly looked up to see who had spoken.

Being able to discern the stalemate in the battle meant that this person had considerable insight. They were likely one of Hagun Academy's top talents, unlike the mediocre spectators who had made hasty judgments earlier.

"Wow! The super dark horse freshman!"

"?"

Eiji, hearing the girl's excited exclamation, raised an eyebrow in confusion.

Huh, upon closer inspection, she seemed quite familier!
