Chapter 1 - CRAZY DREAM ATTICUS

The closed windows weren't enough to keep the noise caused by the heavy traffic from filtering into the red Aston Martin.

Inside the car, two young women waited for the traffic to finally disappear, so they could continue on their mission.

"I really hate this. I should never have allowed you to convince me to go on this mission with you," Crystal Banks groaned, whilst simultaneously trying to take selfies.

Dream Atticus rolled her eyes, as she honked for what was the umpteenth time. "Why is the guy in front of us so slow? Hello? Am I the only one seeing this?" She screamed, and slammed the steering in annoyance.

"Dream?!" Crystal gasped in alarm.

"What?! It's not my fucking fault these faulty fuckers won't do the right thing and move!" She exhausted all the swear words that came to her head in one sentence, as she breathed heavily.

Crystal sighed, and placed her phone inside her bag.

"Do you need a massage to calm you down?"

"No! I don't need a massage," she snickered. "What I need is to arrive at Bass holdings, so I can tells it's CEO to fuck off for choosing the same building I want to build an orphanage home in, for his stupid warehouse. Ugh, fucking move!" She screamed, eyeing the car directly in front of her.

"You know he won't see you, right? No one knows what he looks like. According to the gossip sites, he's an ogre with controversy around his birth, and that's why he never shows up in public."

"I don't care if he's the devil. It's still fuck him, and his audacity," Dream replied nonchalantly.

The traffic began to clear up, and slowly, the cars moved. But it seemed like the man in front of her had no sense of urgency.

"I know you're upset, but can you please—"

Dream wind down, and dragged her head through the window.

"Hey burger king, move your fucking car!" She screamed at the top of her voice.

"Shut up brat!" She heard another different person say.

"You shut up! You all should shut the fu–"

Crystal dragged her in before she could completely go off, and quickly wind up.

"Are you serious right now, Dream?"

"Now it's my fault that they can't drive?" She hissed as she returned her hand to the steering.

"I never said that. But you also have to keep in mind you're coming straight from your last day in business school, to this. You didn't even stop by the house first to see your family. Sometimes, you really do worry me." Crystal shook her head.

Dream sighed in relief, when the car in front of her finally picked up steam.

"Today is the twins' birthday. If I don't go to Bass holdings now, I'd be occupied for the next two days. And you of all people know how I get when there's an itch I can't scratch as soon as it forms," she said, keeping her eyes on the road.

"I know— still, I wonder what you're going to do when you get to Bass holdings. It's not like they're just going to let you in," Crystal said worriedly.

"Sweetheart, watch and see," Dream finally smiled.

Crystal watched as her freckles twinkled. It usually happened when she smiled genuinely, or sinisterly.

"What are you up to, Dream?"

"You'll see."

After ten minutes of driving, the skyscraper that announced to anyone who had never seen the Bass holdings that they had arrived in its premises, came into view.

"Ugly ass design," Dream muttered under her breath, as she eyed the skyscraper.

"New York times don't think the same way. They named it one of the most intriguing sites in the City. Behold!" Crystal dramatized.

"Well their editors are clearly blind, and stupid," Dream cursed recklessly.

Crystal sighed, as she shook her head at Dream.

Ignoring her friend's self-righteousness, Dream drove through the gates of Bass holdings, and packed at the spot the security guy directed her towards.

"I thought you said we wouldn't be able to get in?" She gloated, as she readied herself to come out of the car.

"That's the general gate. I was talking about the Main entrance."

"Oh Crystal darling, don't you know me by now? If I can't go in, I'll bring the bastards to me," she threw her a quick smile, before jumping out of the car.

Marching to her trunk, she opened it, and began to search into one of her boxes.

"What are you looking for now?" Crystal whined, following after her.

"Found it!" Dream hollered excitedly, as she retrieved a megaphone from the bag.

"Oh no," Crystal began to shake her head negatively, the second she saw it.

"Oh yes," Dream laughed, as she marched to the center of the compound.

"Dream!" Crystal tried to stop the madness from unfolding, but the second Dream brought the megaphone to her mouth, she knew it was useless to try to stop her now.

"Testing one– testing two," Dream began.

She instantly attracted the attention of the people around, just like she wanted.

The onlookers took out their phones, and began to record.

Taking a deep breath, she went into action. "This is for Mr Zayn Bass. If you're not him, keep it moving," she said, as she set her gaze towards the upper part of the skyscraper.

"Oh God!" Crystal cringed, as she hid behind the car, watching Dream do what she did best- cause total chaos.

"If you think for one second that you'd use my precious building for your hideous warehouse, then you've absolutely lost your mind. I hope you can hear me clearly, Mr Zayn!"

From the top floor of the building where Zayn Bass' office was, his door kicked open, and his best friend, Nathaniel Hawk dashed in with a pair of binoculars in his hand.

"This damned soundproofed room. Come see what is happening!" Nathaniel dragged a confused Zayn to the window, and slid it open. "Here, take this," he said, handing him the binoculars.

"Mr Zayn, it is totally appalling of you to try to take something that would benefit innocent children, and use it for your personal benefit. Only a monster would do that!"

"Watch out, Dream!" Crystal screamed from behind, as she saw some security hurry towards her best friend.

"I see you've sent your dogs to fight your ugly battle," she continued unfazed. "You can't come to me in person, but that's alright. If you don't stop trying to secure that building, I'll sue your ass to the heavens, and take you for all you're worth. Capeesh, Mr Zayn?" She screamed, just as the security officers got to her.

Redhead, crazy, a complete lunatic, very beautiful, Zayn thought as he studied the girl causing mayhem.

"Who is she?" He asked behind his shoulder.

"Dream Atticus," Nathaniel replied with a knowing smile on his face.

"Hmmm," was the only reaction Zayn gave, as he continued to study her through the binoculars.

"Don't you dare touch me!" Dream tussled with the officer's as they dragged her away. "Mr Zayn, this is not over! If I have to, I'll come here everyday until I defeat you!"

Crystal ran forward, and intercepted the officers.

"Forgive my friend please. We're leaving now," she said, and grabbed Dream's hand.

"You'll burn in hell when I'm done with you, Mr Zayn!" Dream kept screaming into the megaphone, even as Crystal dragged her to the car.

Zayn turned to Nathaniel, and handed back the binoculars.

"Dream Atticus, yeah?" He asked, as he adjusted his tie.

"Yeah, the infamous one."

His eyes darkened, and his jaw clenched tightly.

"Let the games begin then," he declared.Â
