Two women would soon disrupt his plans. Chapter 1 - chapter one

Elena's pov

I walked through the hallways, my heels clicking on the marble floor. People couldn't help but stare, their eyes fixed on me with a mix of curiosity and admiration. I was used to it, though. As the 29-year-old successor CEO of LD Corporations, I was no stranger to attention.

I made my way to the conference hall, where my presence was about to be announced. I took a deep breath, smoothing out my chiffon trousers and adjusting my turtleneck. My hair was packed neatly, and I had opted for a simple yet elegant look. I didn't want to draw attention away from the meeting's purpose.

As I entered the hall, a man approached me, his eyes roaming over me with a sleazy grin. "Beauty, I've been seeing you from afar, and I think I like you," he said, his voice dripping with condescension. "What brings you here? You must be a secretary, right? You're here with your boss, trying to make ends meet?"

I raised an eyebrow, my expression a mixture of disgust and amusement. Who did this guy think he was?

Just as I was about to respond, my name was announced. "Ladies and gentlemen, please welcome Elena Montero, CEO of LD Corporations."

The room erupted into a flurry of activity as people rushed to greet me. The man who had approached me earlier looked stunned, his eyes wide with realization.

I turned to him, a sly smile spreading across my face. "You're a business owner, I presume?" I said, my voice dripping with sarcasm. "Well, let me tell you something. Your business is not even a quarter of the size of mine. And I can feed your entire generation for years to come."

With that, I turned and walked away, leaving the man looking like a fish out of water. The look on his face was priceless, and I couldn't help but feel a sense of satisfaction. I was Elena Montero, and I was a force to be reckoned with.

I stepped off the podium, a rush of adrenaline still coursing through my veins. The presentation had gone flawlessly, and my speech had left the audience in awe. I could feel the weight of their admiration, the envy of those who wished they were in my shoes.

Cameras clicked and flashed around me, reporters clamoring for a sound bite. I smiled, poised and confident, as I fielded their questions. This was my element, and I reveled in the attention.

As I made my way through the crowded room, I couldn't help but feel a sense of pride and accomplishment. This life was good, and I was living proof of that. The CEO of LD Corporations, a woman who had clawed her way to the top and refused to apologize for it.

I exchanged pleasantries with the attendees, my mind already racing ahead to the next challenge, the next deal to be made. This was just the beginning, and I was ready for whatever came next. Bring it on, world. I'm Elena Montero, and I'm unstoppable.

basking in the applause, my phone suddenly rang, shattering the moment. I glanced at the screen and my heart sank. It was the hospital,my mom was down with cancer. I quickly excused myself and pushed through the crowd, my secretary rushing to keep up,as I hurried to the car.

"Where to, ma'am?" she asked, already knowing the answer.

"The hospital," I replied, my voice firm but laced with worry.

As we sped through the city, I scrolled through my iPad, checking the stock market prices. But my mind wasn't on business. It was on my mother, lying in that hospital bed, fighting for her life.

My father's face flashed in my mind, his indifference and lack of concern for my mother's well-being igniting a spark of anger within me.

We finally arrived at the hospital, and I rushed out of the car, my secretary following close behind. I spotted the doctor in the hallway and quickly approached him.

"How is she?" I asked, trying to keep my voice steady.

The doctor led me to his office,I couldn't even sit, I was restless.

The doctor's expression was grim. "Miss Elena, I'm afraid we've done everything we can. Your mother's condition is deteriorating, and..."

I cut him off, my voice rising. "The money isn't the problem. I can give you whatever you need. Just save my mother."

The doctor's eyes filled with a deep sadness. "I'm sorry, Miss Elena. There's nothing more we can do. Perhaps it's time to..."

I slammed my fist on the table, my anger and frustration boiling over. "What kind of doctor are you? You're giving up on my mother?"

The doctor's expression turned defensive. "I've done everything I can, Miss Elena. Sometimes, it's just time to accept the inevitable."

I glared at him, my mind racing with options. "Fine. I'll take her to a better hospital. One that actually cares about saving lives."

The doctor nodded, a hint of relief in his eyes. "That's probably for the best, Miss Elena."

I stormed out of the doctor's office, my anger and frustration boiling over. I couldn't bear the thought of my mother lying in that hospital bed, fighting for her life. I rushed to her ward, my heart racing with every step.

As I entered the room, my eyes fell on my mother's frail form. She lay motionless, her eyes blank and unresponsive. I felt a pang of guilt and sorrow, my eyes welling up with tears. How did it come to this? I thought, my mind reeling with memories of my mother's vibrant smile and infectious laughter.

I sat down beside her, taking her hand in mine. It felt cold and limp, but I held on tight, trying to infuse some warmth into her frail body.

"Mother, don't worry," I whispered, my voice cracking with emotion. "You will be fine, okay? I'm going to move you to another hospital, and you'll get better, I promise. Everything will change for good, I promise you."

I felt a lump form in my throat as I spoke, my eyes streaming with tears. I couldn't bear the thought of losing my mother, not now, not ever.

"Please don't leave me, Mother," I begged, my voice barely above a whisper. "I promise to be a good girl, I promise to take care of you. Don't leave me, please."

As I spoke, I saw tears welling up in my mother's eyes, and I knew she was aware of my presence, even if she couldn't respond. I touched her head, trying to comfort her.

"Mother, don't worry," I repeated, my voice firm with determination. "Everything will be fine, I promise you. I'll do anything, cross seven oceans if I have to, just to make you better."
