Synopsis
In the twilight of his life, Steve Rogers had finally found peace. His war was over, his shield passed on, and his duty fulfilled—or so he thought. But death was not the end. Summoned beyond time and existence by the One Above All, Steve is given a final mission: to save a world on the brink of destruction. A world of kings and betrayals, of ice and fire. Westeros. To prepare him for the trials ahead, he is reforged—his body restored to its prime, his skills sharpened by the greatest warriors of another realm: the Witchers. Under the tutelage of the long-dead masters of the Wolf, Cat, Griffin, Bear, Viper, Manticore, and Crane schools, Steve learns more than just the art of battle. He learns to harness power in ways he never imagined. Armed with his shield, his reforged spirit, and a weakened Mjolnir—a necessary restraint to keep the balance of this fragile world—he steps into Westeros as Ser Steven of House Rogerson, a sworn bannerman of the Starks. From the cold halls of Winterfell to the deadly games of King’s Landing, from the march of the White Walkers to the whispers of the gods themselves, Steve must navigate a world where honor is a weakness, and righteousness is often met with a blade. But he is Captain America. And even in a world ruled by swords and shadows, he will never stop fighting for what is right. As the storm of war gathers and the Long Night looms, the people of Westeros will learn one truth: A shield can break—but the man who wields it never will.

Chapter 1 - Prologue: The Final Salute

The years had been kind to Steve Rogers, but they had also taken their toll. He had lived a long and full life, watching over the world he had once fought to protect. He had danced with Peggy Carter, loved her until her final breath, and stood as a quiet guardian while the world moved on without him.

The world no longer needed Captain America. The man who had once fought across battlefields, who had stood against titans and mad gods, had found peace in the quiet moments of old age. The vibranium shield that once deflected bullets and blows now gathered dust, a relic of a past life. His hands, once strong enough to wield Mjolnir against Thanos, trembled when he reached for a simple cup of tea.

But there was no regret.

Steve had made his choice when he returned the Infinity Stones, when he let go of the fight and embraced the life he had always been denied. He had lived for decades, growing old with dignity, surrounded by those who cared for him. Sam Wilson, Bucky Barnes, and a new generation of heroes had carried on his legacy. And now, as he sat on the porch of a small cabin, the setting sun casting golden light over the lake before him, he felt it—the end approaching.

He closed his eyes, taking a deep breath. His body was tired, his heart slowing, but there was no fear. Just peace.

Then, everything went dark.

A Presence Beyond Understanding

Steve awoke to a void.

It was not the abyss of death he had imagined. No golden gates, no reunion with Peggy just yet. Instead, an overwhelming presence filled the space around him, vast and incomprehensible. It was like standing before the very fabric of the universe, the weight of infinity pressing down on him.

A voice, neither male nor female, neither kind nor cruel, spoke to him.

"You are not done, Steven Rogers."

He did not feel old anymore. The weight of age had lifted, his body no longer frail. He glanced down at his hands, young and strong once more. His heart pounded with renewed vitality, his senses sharp as they had been in the prime of his life.

"A world teeters on the edge of darkness, one not of your own. It has been tainted by corruption, betrayal, and forces beyond mortal comprehension. You have been chosen to be its guiding light."

Steve frowned. "I'm not sure I'm the right man for this."

"You are the only one who can bear this burden."

Visions flooded his mind. A land of castles and knights, of dragons and shadowed threats lurking beyond frozen walls. He saw betrayals unfold, kings slain, innocents suffering under the weight of war. He saw a throne of swords, a battle for power that would plunge the world into chaos.

Then, he saw the true enemy.

A darkness that crept beyond the Wall, ancient and patient, waiting for the moment to strike. A force that sought not to conquer but to end.

"This world does not know what comes for it. But you do."

Steve clenched his fists. He had seen war. He had seen monsters beyond comprehension. He knew what it meant to stand against the impossible.

The presence continued.

"I will grant you the strength to walk this path. You shall return to your prime, armed with all you once wielded. But this world is not your own, and you must not tip the balance beyond repair. Mjolnir will be weakened, its power dimmed, yet it shall remain in your grasp. You will undergo the trials of warriors long forgotten, reshaped and reforged into something new. You will not be Captain America here. You will be something else."

A new vision emerged—of himself, not as an Avenger, but as a knight. A warrior bound by duty, draped in Northern steel, carrying a legacy of honor in a world that cared little for it. A bannerman of House Stark, sworn to the wolves of the North.

"You will have a name, a history, a place in this world. And when the time comes, you will make a choice—to lead them to salvation, or let them fall to the coming storm."

The voice faded, and the void swallowed him whole.

When Steve Rogers opened his eyes again, he was no longer in the world he had once known.
