Everybody in the city of New York have found themselves engrossed in a renowned book titled A Trip On Finding Love, penned by an author who tragically passed away on the day it was published. On that day, she made a billion copies, it was as if she knew she was going to die.
In New York, she stayed in a town called "Walls". In that town there is a college there called "Top".
The college....
"Hmmnn... I just finished reading A Trip On Finding Love... Quite a good book" Daisy said to her two friends while holding the book "I feel really bad for Annabelle"
"Arghhhh don't be a spoiler" Rita said
"No, I'm not" Daisy said
"Yes, you are" Rita said
"Duhh... We are here to discuss about the book so if you are not okay with that maybe you should excuse us" Daisy said jokingly
Rita got annoyed and left.
"Rita!!! Come on!! It's not that deep, wait!!" Samantha said, but Rita didn't answer
"Please let her go, I was just joking, I don't know why she took it personal. I don't know why she isn't done reading a book of just 1000 pages" Daisy said
"Hmnnn... Let's go and talk to her" Samantha said
"No, I'm not doing that and besides we have a Literature class right now" Daisy said
"Oh that's true" Samantha said
They stood up and went for the class.
In the Literature class....
Daisy and Samantha walked into the classroom and sat down next to Rita, who was already there. They greeted her with a "hi," but she didn't respond. Instead, she adjusted her glasses slightly and turned her attention back to the book she was reading.
"Really??? Did she not hear us??" Daisy asked Samantha
"Daisy just let it go.... We would talk about in the room" Samantha said
"Fine!" Daisy said
The Literature lecturer entered into the classroom with his briefcase
"Good day everyone" Adams, the lecturer said
"Good day Mr Adams" the students said
"Last week, we spoke about a book titled A Trip On Finding Love by Rebecca Earth and I urged everyone to make sure to read the book before our next class which is happening now, I hope everyone is done reading the book?" Adams said as he asked his students.
Nobody replied him.
"I ask again, I hope everyone is done reading this book?!!" Adams asked, raising his voice
"Yes we are" few students replied with fear.
Adams is a very strict lecturer, all the students fear him because he is the Dean's favorite and it is quite easy for him to expell any student who isn't serious about his academics.
"Good! Since you all have read the book, let us start with a Q and A session" Adams said with a smile, "Kelvin! Can you give me a summary of the book?"
Kelvin who had been busy on his phone, stood up instantly without saying a word.
"Kelvin??? We do not have all day" Adams said after a few minutes
"Ermmm... Ermmm... Actually, Mr Adams, I started the book yesterday night and I don't really understand a word in the book yet" Kelvin replied
"You don't understand a word in the book yet?" Adams said as he walked a bit forward, "Why would you understand? You're daft! So how would you understand a word in the book??!!! We are talking about a popular book that everyone is reading across the world! New York best selling book!!! An interesting book that has caught everybody's attention and you don't understand a word there? Even young children are reading the book, they should be the one saying they do not understand a word in the book not you, a college student!!!!"
"I'm... I'm... Sorry Mr Adams" Kelvin said trembling
Mr Adams took off his glasses, brought out his hanky and cleaned the lens of his glasses, after he was done cleaning, he dropped the hanky on his table.
"Kelvin.... Step out of my class and wait for me at the Dean's office" Adams said
"Mr Adams please... Please don't expel me....Please" Kelvin pleaded
"Expel you?? You have done no wrong. You only need iron hand. Yes, if your brain capacity is too low, you will be expelled because Top College wants only the best but your brain capacity is not too low, your problem is that you are very lazy and that will change today... I and the Dean will report you to your father" Adams said
"No please... He is going to kill me, I promise to be better" Kelvin said
Nobody in the class can dare plead on behalf of Kelvin, they are only permitted to watch or witness things like this.
"Kelvin, get out of my class, kindly listen, now that I am being nice" Adams said
Kelvin knew that if he didn't step out of the class, Mr Adams might suspend him, so he stepped out.
"I'm sorry for the interruption. In the next class, he is going to be better after I deal with him today. I'm going to change him for good but for now let me give him this punishment. Let us continue, Daisy! Could you please give us a summary of the book?" Adams said as he asked Daisy.
Daisy stood up.
"Good day Mr Adams. Regarding the book titled "A Trip On Finding Love"... We can see that there was a lady named Annabelle there, she had this dating app where she met a mysterious man and had been talking to this mysterious man named Jack for a while, she had never laid her eyes on him or seen his picture before, they only voice called, he refused video calls, telling her that he wanted to experience a true love where the lady had never seen his face before. Please let us turn our copies of the book to page 102" Daisy said as she opened her book while everybody did the same including Mr Adams.
Daisy started reading out from the book;
Jack on a voice call with Annabelle.
"Jack: I want to experience a true love where the lady has not seen my face before, so can you wait for 5 years until you see my handsome face?
Annabelle: hmmnn... I will wait 2000 years to be with you.
Jack: are you sure you can wait? I won't even show you my pictures or have video calls with you... Are you sure you are can manage?
Annabelle: your voice is enough for me, 5 years seem far to us but it isn't, I mean we have been talking since 8months ago and I am already addicted to you, I can't stop talking to you
Jack: Fine, we are both going to experience true love, you can send your pictures and videos anytime
Annabelle: I will.
Daisy stopped reading from the book, she closed the book, put it on her table and continued her summary to Mr Adams.
"During their online relationship, we found out that there was a killer in the country, and nobody was allowed to leave the country for safety reasons, this made Annabelle wait for 10 years to meet her mysterious man. During her wait, the killer kept killing more and more people across the country, his name known as T. At a point, he revealed a snake tattoo with a triangular scar on his wrist to the media, challenging authorities to catch him if they could. The image of his distinctive snake tattoo and scar was circulated widely, making him the country's most wanted criminal. Yet, no one with the exact tattoo and scar combination was ever found.
The 10th year, T suddenly stopped killing and ceased to exist and this made the government give the citizens back their freedom of movement. Annabelle was super excited to meet Jack, her mysterious man, and she travelled far distance to meet him" Daisy said
"Pause!" Adams cut in, "A round of applause for Daisy"
Every student clapped except Rita.
"A very interesting summary! Daisy please have your seat" Adams continued
Daisy had her seat.
"Rita! I noticed you didn't clap, maybe because you want to also say something... Okay, so from Daisy's summary what do you feel about Annabelle and Jack?" Adams asked
Rita stood up, she felt a bit nervous. She knew what she was going to say even though she wasn't done reading the book, Daisy's summary helped.
"I feel like their so called "true love" is unrealistic" Rita replied angrily
"Unrealistic?? How??" Adams asked getting very interested in Rita's opinion
"Why would you wait 10 years without seeing the man you love? You don't even know what he looks like, what if he looks like an ostrich??" Rita said
"But he doesn't" Adams said
"But what if he had looked like an ostrich? Or what if he wasn't her type, doesn't she have a taste in men? Is she mad?" Rita said asking rhetorical questions
The entire class gazed at her in astonishment, and some even chuckled at how serious she was.
"You seem to be very angry with the book" Adams said
"Yes, I am!!! A 1000-page book that is unrealistic!!! Yes, I am very angry, let us put ourselves in Annabelle's shoe... Would you be in a relationship with a guy that you have never seen before? Not even his picture! I mean I was in an online relationship before but I saw his pictures!! We broke up without even still seeing each other physically but I know what he looks like because he sent few pictures to me. So why would Annabelle travel that far to see a mysterious man that might have been a monkey or a gorilla!!!!!" Rita said screaming
"Wow!!! I can see why people love this book and why it is across the world. It is a great book. People are reading and talking about it everyday, people that don't read books are reading it. A great work by Rebecca Earth" Adams said smiling
"I'm wondering how they maintained their relationship during the 10 years, no fight?" Rita said
"Haha... Seems as if you're not done reading the book but I'm going to pardon you because I love your opinion!.... Samantha! Can you give me a summary on how Annabelle and Jack maintained their relationship for that long?" Adams asked
"Mr Adams before Samantha answers, I am curious to why Annabelle fell in love with a mysterious man with no identity. How do people fall in love with a person that they have never seen before?" Rita asked
"Rita!!! Hahaha... You need to learn about the power of a great love, true love and unconditional love. I have seen a case where a lady fell in love with a man that she met only twice in her life and till now, they are talking fine, infact they are closer than some of her friends that she has met multiple times in her life. True love, Great love and Unconditional love are not about the beauty of a face, it's about the personality, character and behavior of this person you are in love with, then the voice of the person adds to the love, if the voice calms your soul, if the voice makes you happy, the sound of the person's laughter, if the way he or she laughs makes you laugh also, it's contagious. Also, love chooses anybody. You can be the chosen one without identity.
There are different ways to experience love, we know the common way which is to meet the guy, get to know each other and enter a relationship if you find yourself compatible, but Jack wanted to experience love in another dimension. He wanted to make the impossible possible" Adams said
Everybody got interested in Mr Adams' explanation so they listened to him attentively.
"Don't worry guys, I will teach you these three things another time... So back to you, Samantha" Adams said
Samantha stood up.
"Mr Adams you have said it all" Samantha said
Adams laughed, "Say something about how they maintained their relationship"
"They had disputes, sometimes they broke up, but they strived so hard to still be together. Annabelle got tired at a point but because of her true love for him, she waited that long to see him" Samantha said
"Brilliant! True love! You need to understand the concept of true love. Sometimes, you see a girl falling so hard for you and you ask yourself, "what's so special about me? She has male friends that are still very handsome than I am, why is she still in love with me with the way I treat her bad?" You ask yourself these questions but the answer to your question is to understand the concept of True love, Great love and Unconditional love... You can't know all the concepts but you can understand.
If a girl truly loves you and you are wondering why, it is because you are the chosen one, her heart has chosen you, so no amount of "I have not seen him before" can stop that heart from choosing you. As they say, love has a way of enduring pain. The only thing that will stop her heart from choosing you is "long- term sufferings" and it is obvious Jack kept showing Annabelle love, so she couldn't stop loving him" Adams said, "Let me not bore you guys further"
"Noooo... Mr Adams please continue" the students said
"Hahahaha.... Everybody seems interested in my explanation, I have fed you well for now so be satisfied. Ye shall go outside and thou shall not be hungry again today!! Because I have fed thee well!!" Adams said
Everybody in the class laughed.
"Okay, that's all for today, see you in the next class. Remember, don't stop reading the book, I know of a student in this school that has read the book 10 times and he is still reading, the more you read again, the more you discover new things and understand. There is more to that book, don't stop reading! Gracias!" Adams said as he carried his briefcase with his hanky and stepped out
Adams stepped out of the classroom and on his way to his office he noticed a girl who had fallen with her books scattered around. He hurried over, helped her up, gathered her books, and walked with her to her class while carrying her books.
The students in the class greeted Adams immediately they saw him, he waved at them and left quietly after placing the books on her desk.
Adams Great is a strict lecturer but he is a very nice person and his classes are always interesting.
