Chapter 2 - An ominous wizard(2)

"What the hell is going on with you?

How come you do not have any of our talents?

Are you stupid?"

A boy teased him.

"Moreover, you look creepy and evil.

Are you an heir of the dark lord?"

"Shut up!

I am not creepy nor evil as you all think."

cried Dong Hoon.

"Then show your talents and if you cannot, leave the school."

Soon, several students started to imitate Dong Hoon's poor singing.

Other students bursted with laughter following their teasing.

"Step back!"

Shouted a girl who seemed to be angry with their bullying.

Other boys stopped talking for a while.

"You idiots, don't say ominous things like that. I am worried that he might deliver ominous aura to us if we keep on bullying him.

We need to stay away from him.

Otherwise, we will always be unlucky."

said a girl.

"You called me idiot?"

said a boy.

Then the two started to argue.

Another girl near them started to cry.

"Stop fighting!

It is your fault Dong Hoon!

It is your fault Dong Hoon that I ruined my singing practice this morning!

It is your fault Dong Hoon that I was scolded by my parents this morning!"

"Don't cry!

I will heal your mind!"

said another boy while throwing trash at Dong Hoon.

Then, others started to throw trash towards Dong Hoon as well.

A boy picked some of the trashes for a girl, who he once had argument with, and girl gratefully received it to throw them at Dong Hoon.

Dong Hoon became powerless and could not raise his head.

'I did not do anything wrong!'

thought Dong Hoon while covering his head with two arms.

******

However, those things faded away as time went by. As a matter of fact, everyone had no time to even give a glimpse to Dong Hoon as they became too busy preparing for their debut as a sports athlete, singer or actor. While others practiced hard on their talents, Dong Hoon had to stay at an empty class room up until going back to dormitory room.

It was equivalent to dentention. The teachers did not want Dong Hoon to mingle with others and confined Dong Hoon to an empty classroom without helping him find jobs and discover his own talents.

In the dormitory room, Dong Hoon could not join conversations with others. Students started to become indifferent to Dong Hoon as time went by and even the younger students ignored Dong Hoon as well.

Year by year, classmates graduated school and became idol, rock star, hip hop star or sports star and their performances were displayed at each corridor of school by glassbeads, that showed their highlight videos.

'Can I become like them? Can I become happy? Can I really be happier if I stay here day by day, month by month, year by year?'

thought Dong Hoon while laying his head down and covering his head with hood of the jacket trying not to look at each glassbead.

When Dong Hoon became 18 years old, he became completely forgotten by everyone.

Only a teacher called Kim Joon Woo took care of him. He was a teacher who was very popular among students, teachers and staff members with his handsome face and gentle attitude. Everyone wondered why a wizard like him applied for an unwanted school.

"Hey Mr. Kim, are you a weirdo?"

his colleague teased Joon Woo.

"Dong hoon has a potential to lead the world. I cannot give up his full power."

responded Joon Woo with cheery tone.

"Don't be stupid Mr.Kim.

This is reality, not fantasy setting.

There is no such thing as a rise of stupid guy."

"Maybe, his path might be different from others."

"Oh god, he must have watched too much fairy tales."

"Yes. I agree.

He is not an ugly duckling that can turn into swan."

said another teacher.

Other teachers laughed loudly.

"What if he is a black swan?

What would happen to the world then?"

"Hey Mr. Kim.

I admire you as a model teacher but don't be too silly dear."

Joon Woo then responded with a little smile and headed straight to Dong Hoon.

Soon, Joon Woo opened the door and gazed at Dong Hoon. He grew up to be tall and handsome with clear skin and big eyes, sharp nose, thin lips, long neck and slightly curly and thick hair stretching to his neck and was wearing school uniform with brown vest of which the school logo was printed and white jacket with a hood and a phrase 'I am talented.' printed at back which was contradicting to Dong Hoon's reality and school logo printed at chest. He was doing nothing but gazing through the window watching other students playing music at the field. Unlike Dong Hoon, they were wearing bronze, silver and gold jackets with same design.

Dong Hoon felt as he was trapped in a room full of darkness. He could not find the way out. In dormitory, he used to wake up with nightmare alone. Those nightmares were usually about students who bullied him. Then he went to empty classroom doing nothing.

"Dong Hoon, what's up."

Joon Woo benignly greeted Dong Hoon.

"Hello."

Dong Hoon responded powerlessly while reluctantly bowing to Joon Woo.

"Sorry to interrupt you.

However, I came here to introduce you a job."

"A job?"

"Yes.

You need to take part in a certain kind of job."

"What can I do?"

"You can try for a housemaster internship."

"Really?"

Dong Hoon's face turned into full of excitement as he was happy to take part in something for the school. Having been rejected for years and having been treated like a ghost recently, Dong Hoon has lost most of his self esteem. He has completely forgotten about his childhood dreams and craved for any types of jobs. In that circumstance, getting a job was a great relief for him.

Soon, another happy thing happened to Dong Hoon. It was such a serendipity.
