Chapter 1 - In the beginning

In the beginning there was the elder gods, born from primordial essence of the source;the beginning and the end of everything.

The source gave the elder gods a portion of its power each imbued with different aspect of its abilities, Zebha the first elder god to be born from the source and the source's most coveted child was the leader and the most powerful of the elder gods but his youngest sibling Revi was the smartest amongst all of them, the other four, hentesa, Nesa'i,la'faura and ferho all had their areas of expertise but throughout history only two Elder gods stood out and that lasted until the dawn of the crimson war.

A war that spread out like wildfire and shook all of the mortal realms, that war brought us this eternal darkness. It is said that in the crimson war, all of the Elder gods died and after their deaths their champions rose up to divinity using forbidden means but since their rise to power was not ordained by the source itself, it rejected them and threw them into the mirror realm where it is said that only madness and chaos exists which in turn turned them into the vile abominations we now know as the fallen today. The source then appointed new gods but this time he devised a way for them to reach divinity without sharing with any of them his power to which he had reserved for his child, the one he would send into the world when his primordial essence run out, the pathways to divinity are what is known today as the 9 Konquerors paths....but another pathway exist, one that will only be used by the source's child.

It is believed the child will be a very handsome male with a physical mark of divinity, the child will be born in a noble house protected from the world's harsh environment from birth-"

"But if the boy grows up in a noble house, won't he save the noble only when the end approaches?" A filthy middle aged man interrupted the young woman who was sitting on top of the bar with a large group of people surrounding her, listening to her as she spoke, the young woman who was dressed in a velvet dress that left little for the imagination, with a beautiful face plastered in make-up shook her head with a sly smile

"So would you prefer a dirty looking scumbag like yourself to be the savior? Yeah right, people would rather get devoured by the fallen than be saved by you Reggie." The audience laughed and the young woman playfully winked at Reggie who was now hiding his face in embarrasment.

"Poor Reggie, he wanted to sound smart but look where it got him hahaha!" A man standing next to Reggie burst out in laughter, the young woman merely smiled at this and raised a hand as she was about to continue

"If I may continue, The child will have pure white hair and golden eyes that will light up in the darkness. It is written that only the child birthed from the source will eliminate the darkness from our world. And you guys want to know what the best part is?" She paused her eyes reflecting her intense excitement

"Yes we do lady Harlingen." The bar owner spoke hurriedly his eyes failing to hide his curiosity

"Please do tell milady." Reggie spoke nodding furiously at Harlingen's question

Many voices from the crowd chimed in and Harlingen seemed to be enjoying their pleas, raising a hand again the whole bar went quiet that one could even hear a pin drop, many suppressed breaths could be heard as everybody waited for the lady Harlingen to speak

"Right, if memory serves correct the child of the source must already be born because those ancient scriptures all say that 'When the age of kings come and the roar of the fallen champions ring out, on that day the child of fate will be born.' And if you all can remember the incidents that occurred 17 years ago, you will surely understand that the prophecy has begun." Harlingen spoke in a very casual manner but to the rest of the audience her words ignited a flame of hope in their eyes

"Lady Harlingen speaks the truth, remember what happened when we were still working in the coal mine 17 years ago mordecai? That beastly roar that shook the ground for a long while." The bar owner spoke looking at the man beside Reggie, the man also nodded his eyes filled with shock and disbelief

"On that day where we lost our colleagues our savior was born, a thousand lives for one." Modercaj whispered out the last part, the rest of the people in the bar all had joy, some it was fear for if the prophecy was already upon them then it meant that they were no longer safe, the city that had been their refuge for countless years would no longer be able to protect them from the abominations that wander around in the darkness searching for humans to devour. But to some this meant hope, the darkness that had apart of their lives would soon be dispelled.

The oil lamps light started dimming and the bar owner, old Neil clasped his hands "its time for me to close up, see you all after tomorrow." Slowly the audience dispersed and only five people were left in the bar, old Neil, lady Harlingen, Reggie, mordecai and a young boy in rags with short and damp raven black hair, the young man had a piece of a purple clothe covering his eyes but it did not hid his above average good looks, even though he seemed a little bit malnourished.

The youngman was busy scrubbing the dirt off the ground, with a bucket full of dirt water on the side whilst old Neil,Reggie, Lady Harlingen and mordecai discussed their business loudly while drinking, completely ignoring the boy's presence.

"That was such a beautiful tale my love, for a moment I almost believed you."Reggie burst out laughing and the others followed suit

"Ahhh yes, Harlingen this time you out did yourself but I must say I am curious about how you are able to weave the perfect legend. You truly bring bards to shame I must say." Mordecai chuckled shaking his head, old Neil couldn't help but agree with mordecai

"Mordecai is right indeed, how do you do it if I may ask?" Old Neil asked with a smile, Harlingen smiled and took a quick glance at Reggie who smiled and nodded in return before she answered "its easy really, everything I spoke just now I found it in a book when me and Reggie were still roaming around the inner districts, the book spoke of all these things and by adding a good dramatic effect sorry to say this but people of the outer districts are not too smart, so you add those two together and I won't say the rest because you have seen the results for yourselves." Harlingen spoke as if she was addressing a casual issue, old Neil and mordecai both nodded in realization.

"Oh yes, that reminds me lady Harlinge, I have heard that you have once ventured outside of the city walls?"mordecai asked enthusiastically but Reggie was the one to answer this time with a yawn while stretching his arms

"We are really exhausted, it's time we took our leave now.". Old Neil realized his mistake slapping his forehead and apologizing quickly as he took out the bag full of coins and tossed it over to Reggie

"It's all in there, thank you both for the entertainment. I will be enjoying good business in the next few weeks and it is all thanks to you too." Reggie gave the bag of coins to Harlingen who opened it and took out one coin before turning around to leave in the direction of where the boy was scrubbing, before they could walk past the boy Harlingen squatted and took on the boy's hands placing the coin inside, staring at the boy she smiled a bit and left the bar with Reggie.

Old Neil's eyes were on the boy scrubbing the floor still, mordecai shook his head in pity

"But old friend can't you let the boy go now? He is blind and unfit for this." Mordecai spoke his voice full of pity his eyes resting on the boy
