Months had passed since Sarah's mishap with Dr. Thompson, and she had finally started to feel comfortable in her role as a receptionist at the hospital. However, her relationship with Dr. Thompson was still strained. He was more reserved around her than ever, and Sarah couldn't help but feel a pang of guilt every time she saw him.
One day, as she was working at the front desk, a handsome man walked in and caught her eye. He was tall, with chiseled features and piercing blue eyes that seemed to see right through her.
"Hi, can I help you?" Sarah asked, trying to sound professional despite the flutter in her chest.
"Hi," the man replied, flashing a charming smile. "I'm here to visit a friend who's a patient here. Can you tell me what room he's in?"
Sarah nodded and quickly checked the patient's information on the computer. "He's in room 304," she said, handing the man a visitor's badge.
As the man took the badge, their fingers touched, and Sarah felt a spark of electricity run through her body.
"Thanks," the man said, holding her gaze for a moment before turning to leave.
Sarah watched him go, feeling a little breathless. Who was this guy, and why did she feel so drawn to him?
A few minutes later, the man returned to the front desk, looking frustrated.
"Excuse me," he said, "I'm having a bit of a problem. I'm trying to find someone to fill a position in my company, and I'm having no luck."
Sarah's ears perked up at the mention of a job opening. "What kind of position is it?" she asked, curiosity getting the better of her.
"I'm looking for a personal assistant," the man replied. "Someone who can help me manage my schedule, answer emails, that kind of thing."
Sarah's eyes widened as she realized the opportunity that was staring her in the face. "I'm interested," she said, trying to sound calm.
The man raised an eyebrow, clearly surprised by her response. "Really?" he asked. "What makes you think you're qualified for the job?"
Sarah took a deep breath and launched into a confident speech about her skills and experience. The man listened intently, his eyes narrowing as he considered her application.
Finally, after what felt like an eternity, he nodded. "You're hired," he said, smiling. "When can you start?"
Sarah's heart soared as she realized she had just landed a new job. "I need to give my current employer two weeks' notice," she said, trying to sound professional.
The man nodded. "That's fine. But I need someone to start ASAP. Can you start in three days?"
Sarah hesitated for a moment before nodding. "Yes, I can do that."
The man smiled, looking relieved. "Great. I'll send a car to pick you up at 9am on Monday. Be ready to start work."
Sarah nodded, still feeling a little dazed by the sudden turn of events. As the man turned to leave, she called out to him.
"Wait," she said. "I don't even know your name."
The man turned back to her, smiling. "I'm Alexander Gray," he said. "And you are...?"
"I'm Sarah," she replied, feeling a little shy.
Alexander nodded. "Nice to meet you, Sarah. I'll see you on Monday."
With that, he turned and walked away, leaving Sarah feeling stunned and excited by the sudden turn of events.
Over the next three days, Sarah wrapped up her work at the hospital, saying goodbye to her colleagues and trying to avoid Dr. Thompson as much as possible. She knew he was still angry with her, and she didn't want to make things any worse.
As soon as she got home that evening, she went straight to Laura's room to talk to her about her recent achievements.
Not surprising to her, Laura was so happy for her. She encouraged her to strive to be the best in her new job, she prayed for her and advised her.
Finally, on Monday morning, a sleek black car pulled up outside Sarah's apartment, and she knew it was time to start her new life as Alexander Gray's personal assistant.
She got into the car and headed to Alexander's office. She then began to wonder. What lay ahead for her in this new role? And would she be able to prove herself to Alexander and become the assistant he needed?
Only time would tell.
As the car pulled up to Alexander's office building, Sarah felt her heart racing with anticipation. She took a deep breath, grabbed her bag, and stepped out of the car.
"Good luck, Sarah," the driver said, smiling. "You're going to do great."
Sarah smiled back, feeling a sense of determination. "Thanks," she said. "I'll need it."
With that, she turned and walked into the building, ready to start her new life as Alexander Gray's personal assistant.
While she stepped into the elevator, Sarah couldn't help but wonder what the future held for her.
