#1 CHAPTER ONE: THE OUTER GODS
A very very very very long time ago, there were these mysterious beings known as The Outer Gods, however, they do not manifest physical forms within this world, this world called The Lands Between. Even without a physical form, they heavily affect the events of this world, and have acted kindly and maliciously.
There are multiple Outer Gods,
The Formless Mother is an Outer God who craves wounds.
The Outer God of Rot is associated with the corrupting Scarlet Rot, which is an old legend in the Lands Between. It is a dangerous sickness that devours life away from men and beasts alike who come in contact with it like a vicious plague. It deforms their body and drives them to madness, and makes them act like wild animals. The Outer God of Rot is in fact the creator of the disturbing Scarlet Rot.
The Outer God of Deathbirds is related in some way to death and the undead. However, all that is known of this Outer God is that the Twinbird is it's vassal. The Twinbird is an envoy of The Outer God Of Death, and is the mother of the Deathbirds. It's a two-headed bird, the feathers of it's left head is bright red, and the feathers of it's right head is deep blue.
The Fell God of Fire is associated with the Fire Giants, Fire Prelates, Fire Monks and the The Flame of Ruin.
The Frenzied Flame is either an Outer God itself or a manifestation of an Outer God's influence.
There are several Celestial Bodies, entities that are never said to be Gods nor Outer Gods, but are confirmed to come from beyond the Lands Between and appear to possess power and give influence upon the world.
The Greater Will is the entity with the most influence in the current age of the Lands Between. The Greater Will sent the Elden Beast on a golden star down to the Lands Between, which later manifests as the Elden Ring. The Elden Ring appears to require a native vessel in the Lands Between similar to how Outer Gods have taken to associating with vessels and servants, namely Empyreans. The vessel of the Elden Ring is considered a God, and the God's consort takes the title of Elden Lord. Assuming Elden Lord means "Consort to the vessel of the Elden Ring", then we know of two Gods under the Greater Will: Queen Marika and Placidusax's god.
Moons: The Carian Royal Family have come into contact with various moons, and in turn gained acute knowledge. This is especially so, because the Full and Dark Moon is said to have wisdom, and is feared by Ranni. All three moons have a terrestrial representative - Rennala for the Full Moon, Ranni for the Dark Moon and Rellana, Rennala's younger sister, for the Twin Moons.
The Primeval Current is an oseteric and mysterious force, and has a connection to magic, glintstone sorceries, and the stars.
The Blood Star is an enigmatic entity closely associated with Thorn sorceries. A blood-stained star is an ill omen.
But most importantly, the original Outer God, the Outer God that created ALL Outer Gods,
The One Great. In the beginning, everything was the One Great. At some point, the One Great was fractured by the Greater Will, creating births and souls. According to the findings of the Glintstone Sorcerers, life began as stardust, born of this great rupture.
The Three Fingers believe that the Greater Will made a mistake in fracturing the One Great, as it also resulted in torment, despair, affliction, sin, and curses. They wish to melt everything away with the Frenzied Flame, ending fractures and birth. In so doing, they believe that everything can return to the One Great again.
