Chapter 10 - Chapter 10: The Ghost Owner

Chris sat in the boardroom of a high-rise office building, his presence unnoticed by the senior executives seated around the table. The men in suits debated their next moves, completely unaware that the true power in the room wasn't the acting CEO or the newly appointed directors—it was him.

Carter Enterprises no longer existed. The name had been dissolved, rebranded under one of Chris' many companies, absorbed into his growing empire. What once belonged to Jaxon's family was now his, yet not a single person in this room knew the identity of their real owner.

Just the way he wanted it.

Ethan, the only one in the room who knew the truth, sat beside him, arms crossed as he listened to the meaningless chatter. Chris didn't need to speak. He didn't need to make his presence known. His signature alone had sealed the fate of an entire corporation.

The acting CEO, a middle-aged man with graying hair, cleared his throat. "Our new investors remain anonymous, but we've received confirmation that they have no intention of interfering in day-to-day operations. We proceed with the restructuring as planned."

Chris smirked inwardly. Exactly.

He had no interest in public recognition. Power worked best in the shadows, where no one could predict or challenge it. While the world still believed he was just another ordinary student, he had already taken control of an empire.

Ethan glanced at him. "Anything else you want to add?"

Chris shook his head slightly. "We're done here."

The meeting concluded, and one by one, the executives left, still clueless about the true force pulling the strings. Once the room was empty, Ethan let out a low whistle.

"You just erased Jaxon's family legacy with a few signatures. No one even suspects you exist."

Chris leaned back in his chair, a small smirk playing on his lips. "That's the point."

He had no need for a title. No need for recognition.

Because whether they knew it

or not…

He owned them all.
