Chapter 1 - ch.1

"Ok, time to get back to work." Lights flick on, lighting a giant room. "Hmm, it seems 84 was online all night."

A camera clicks on in room 84. "Let's see what you're up to, shall we." The monitor hums on, as a picture fades in.

As the August morning's sun rises and warm rays filled a garden, birds chirp and sang. And a dog could be heard barking in distance.

"No. I'm gardening, I can't play cards with you right now." A woman giggles as she tend to radishes and peppers. "Okay, but I'm the master of the chairs." A boy gleefully shouts as he stands on the chairs.

"Uggh, he's at it again. Should call the general for this." The guard turns on his phone and dredds the call.

Somewhere in Georgia. "Ring Ring Ring. Yeah, what is it? Hmm, again huh. I'll get there as soon as I can, don't touch anything at all. Don't even hang up, that's an order."

"If you're master of the chairs, then I'm queen of the garden." The woman laughs, walking in the house with a basket of vegetables.

The boy tries to grab a pepper from the basket, but is rejected.

"Did you wash your hands?" The woman raises an eyebrow.

"Noo, but I really want one." The boy pouts.

"Hmm. If you can win in a game of cards against me, I'll let you have any vegetable in the basket without having to wash up." The woman says confidently.

30 minutes later in a moving car. "What's going on?" The general asks

"They're playing poker for a basket of vegetables, sir." The guard states.

"Did you just say poker?… nevermind. So, it's 84 right and Lisa Mairry." The general says buttoning his uniform while driving.

"One more! Play me one more time!" Lisa yells frustrated.

The boy grins in glee as wide as he could and shuffles the deck. Behind Lisa, the faucet flickers in and out of existence. Sometimes even flickering away from where it was.

"Before the real round, does my little winner want some water? I'm a little thirsty." Lisa asks the boy while she begins to stand up from her chair.

"I wanna get the water!" The boy demands, putting the half shuffled deck on the table and rushes to the kitchen. The boy can't quite reach the reddish brown cabinet hanging above the counter and jumps to reach the silver handle.

"Here, use the stool." Lisa passes a wooden box with thick cylinder legs from under the counter. "You know, I can do this." Lisa states with an eyebrow raised.

"Yeah, but then you wouldn't have time to practice before I start winning again." The boy chuckles as he grasps the two stacked cups.

"Well, I've been going easy on you to keep it interesting." Lisa huffs, with her hands on hips and stands proudly. "Besides, you didn't finish shuffling the deck. How can I practice?" She says as she tickles the boy. The boy giggles as he is tickled.

A steel lock turns and the door opens as a large man walks through. "Lieutenant, report the situation." The General demands.

"Sir, currently 'sub:84.Pr' has invaded the mind of Lisa or 'sub:709.A'. There is no sign of the anomaly." The Lieutenant reports. On a monitor behind him says, "Total of users viewing this feed: 2", then flickers and changes to, "Total of users viewing this feed: 1".

Chimes play as they resume their game. "Aww dang it, I was hoping to show you my true skills. A deal is a deal, here choose one." The boy points to a pepper, Lisa grabs a ripe pepper from the basket of vegetables and tosses the pepper to the boy on his way out.

"Drive safely! Oh! And ask George if he has a tablespoon of salt, I sort of forgot to get it at the store." She says as she waves bye to them.

The boy gleefully opens the door, pepper in hand. A sea of white filled with snowfall. The ground around the door crunched and splintered, as the boy lept from the door frame.
