Chapter 1 - 1. Stars, blood, hood.

Ishan Kumar liked stargazing. He would go to an abandoned building every saturday night and would stay there till morning when it was sunday. Then he would sleep in the daytime.

"Clouds. I guess nature is against me today." Ishan looked at clouds and thought about how he liked to watch moon with his mother in his childhood. His mother was a science enthusiast like him but had become housewife after marrying his police father. She was proud that her son was science oriented person like her. But that didn't stop his father from getting him interested into police-work. Ishan specially liked the procedures and the reasoning part of the police-work. His little adventure of this building were well known to his father and because he always performed good in school he allowed it.

Getting bored with clouds Ishan decided to walk around the building roof. When he looked at the road that lead to the abandoned building he noticed a boy and a girl walking towards the entrance of the buliding.

At the entrance they seemed to wait for someone. By now the moon was clear in the sky. The boy and girl looked around a while and then started walking towards the building. They walked slowly and both of them now had a torch in their hands. After a while they went under the building hiding from Ishan's view.

Ishan remembered the rumours in his high school. He'd heard that this building was haunted and some girls had gone missing around it in the past. There were rumours that someone had seen a figure with staff walking around. Ishan didn't believe in such things but when he asked his father he'd told him that the girls who went missing, probably just ran away from this backward town. They were called run-aways in official files.

"Ahhhhhh . . ." A shrilling voice of a girl echoed in the silent night. Ishan looked down and he saw a boy running away.

Ishan ran downstairs. Just after passing the rooftop door he realised he forgot to take the torch but he ran anyway as he had his phone. It's crucial to reach early if someone's hurt. Every second counts. Life had taught him this lesson way too eary in life when his mother died because they couldn't reach hospital on time.

After reaching on the ground floor, he turned on the torch in his phone and saw smoke. The smoke seemed too much without any fire around. It had burnt smell. He looked around but due to darkeness and smoke couldn't see anything.

"Ahh . . . Ple...se . . . Help." He listened carefully and tracked down the room the voice was coming from. He ran and reached to the door.

A girl his age was lying on her back and her head was bleeding. She looked familiar. He rushed to her, checked if there was any other injury. After making sure she was alright except that head wound, he asked her why she was here but before she could answer something hit him.

His vision became blurry and in that quick moment he tried to turn and look behind to see his attacker. A large hooded figure was standing like the grim reaper. "It couldn't be--" He lost consciousness.
