Synopsis

Chapter 1 - Prologue.

In the confines of the kingdom of Thalgar there was a citadel ruled by a patriarch and 5 counselors. The system of choosing the patriarch was simple and uncomplicated: 10 of the best young men from the main family (basically the patriarch's children) were chosen, and 5 of the young men from the lower class branches (they had to be 15 years old). In order for someone from the lower class to be a candidate, they had to pass a rigorous test that consisted of reaching the top floor of a 100-story tower, where the higher up, the more dangerous the floor. The survival rate was extremely low, which is why almost no one attended the annual test, but a few did, since if said young man passed the test, he would bring glory and status to his family, moving them from lower class to "middle" class. The truth behind these tests goes back 500 years in the past where a seer predicted that a young man of great value and power would be the one who would bring glory and power to the main clan, however the young man would be from a lower class branch. For that same reason the patriarch would begin to search among the poor young people for the predicted hero, however he could never find him. Years passed and it was more of a tradition than a search. (Although some writers said that in reality it all arose because an idiot came up with the idea).

One day a child was born in a middle class family, that baby was strange if that encompasses everything. The baby did not look strange or anything, the problem was that he had ridiculous strength and did not cry for anything. A scandal quickly arose since it was believed that the hero of the prophecy had finally been born. However, the one who had brought glory to the family could do nothing but feel jealous knowing that his newborn brother was receiving all the praise.
