Arthur looked at Ben as he spoke. "So Ben are there like People who are called the Top Dog".
Ben looked at him as he spoke. "Yeah, there names are Lancelot, Gawain and Tristan, they are second year's".
Arthur raised an eyebrow, intrigued. "Lancelot, Gawain, and Tristan? Those sound like... those kinds of names."
Ben chuckled at Arthur's reaction. "Yeah, I know, right? They're kind of the big shots around here. They're in second year, and everyone looks up to them. They're the best athletes, top of the class, and basically run the social scene. No one really messes with them, especially since Lancelot's got this... presence about him. You don't cross a guy like that."
Arthur leaned back in his chair, thinking. Lancelot, Gawain, Tristan... names of knights from Arthurian legend. Seems like there's more to this place than I thought.
"So... they're like the school royalty?" Arthur asked, trying to keep his tone casual, though a spark of curiosity was starting to form.
Ben nodded, a little more seriously now. "Exactly. They've got everything—the respect, the power, the status. People adore them. You know, typical 'top of the food chain' stuff. But honestly? They're not as bad as they sound. I mean, Lancelot can be a bit... intense, but the guy's got a sense of humor if you catch him in the right mood. Gawain and Tristan? They're more chill."
Arthur smiled to himself, a thought running through his mind. So they think they're the big dogs, huh? Wonder if I'll have to deal with them later. Or better yet, maybe I should just... let them think they're the kings of the castle for now.
He glanced back at Ben. "Do they like... do anything in particular? I mean, other than running the show?"
Ben grinned. "Oh yeah, they do everything. Sports, extracurriculars, you name it. Lancelot's the captain of the rugby team. Gawain's on the student council, and Tristan's always organizing charity events. They like being seen as the 'do-gooders' while also being the strongest ones in the school. A lot of people just... gravitate toward them. It's a bit ridiculous sometimes, honestly."
Arthur chuckled, his interest piqued. "Sounds like I'll have to keep an eye on them, then."
Ben gave Arthur a mischievous grin. "Oh, you'll probably run into them sooner or later. They like making sure the new kids know where they stand. But don't worry too much about it. As long as you stay under the radar, you'll be fine."
Arthur thought about it for a moment. Under the radar... Yeah, for now, that sounds like the best plan. I'll let them play their little games while I figure out this world.
"So, where do I even start to make my mark here?" Arthur mused, mostly to himself.
Ben raised an eyebrow. "You wanna make a mark? Dude, you've got the perfect name for it already. You're Arthur. I mean, how do you expect to just be a regular guy with that name? People will start making assumptions."
Arthur couldn't help but chuckle at the irony. Arthur... the legendary King Arthur. Yeah, I've got big shoes to fill. But for now, I'll just take it one step at a time.
"Guess I'll see how things go," he said, leaning back in his chair. "I'm just trying to figure out how to live a normal life in this... anime world. But I'll keep an eye on Lancelot, Gawain, and Tristan. Might be useful down the line."
Ben gave him a thumbs up. "Good luck with that, man. You've got a long way to go before you catch up with them. But hey, if you ever need help, I'm here."
Arthur smiled. "Thanks, Ben. I might just take you up on that."
As the bell rang, signaling the end of the break, Arthur stood up and grabbed his books. He couldn't help but feel a strange mix of excitement and uncertainty. The world was so different, so oddly familiar, and yet he had no idea what was coming next. The days ahead were still a mystery, and he wasn't sure when or how the Shrek plot would intrude on his life.
But for now, it was time to focus on the school year. He had a lot to figure out, and Lancelot, Gawain, and Tristan were just the beginning. As he left the classroom with Ben, Arthur couldn't shake the feeling that something big was just around the corner.
Arthur then spoke in his mind. "I wonder in the future if they will become my Knight, depends on what I do probably, Depends if this world is more Shrek or story of king Arthur, I already look like my fate self, so they probably look like there Fate Self as well".
Ben then continues speaking not knowing what Arthur is saying. "They have also been recommended to the Knight Guard of the school".
Arthur raised an eyebrow at Ben's words, his mind spinning. Knight Guard of the school? That sounds... familiar. He mentally shrugged, not fully sure what that implied, but the term had a sense of gravity to it.
"Knight Guard?" Arthur echoed aloud, turning slightly to face Ben. "What exactly is that?"
Ben glanced over at him, his expression casual. "Oh, it's just this exclusive group of students. Think of it like the 'elite protectors' of the school or something. Only the top few get selected to join, and you're basically tasked with keeping order and watching over the students, especially the new ones." He paused, considering. "Lancelot, Gawain, and Tristan are all in it. You don't get in without making a serious impression, though."
Arthur couldn't help but smirk. So, a group of elite students. I wonder how they'd feel about taking orders from a king... especially if I'm already looking like a Fate-version of Arthur Pendragon.
He couldn't help but mentally chuckle at the thought of them all in their respective Fate selves—Lancelot, Gawain, and Tristan were more than just names now; they were powerful figures. In fact, maybe this world was a strange combination of Shrek and the Arthurian legends, and maybe... just maybe, he could mold it into something more.
If I play my cards right, maybe they will become my knights after all. Or perhaps, I'll have to show them a different kind of leadership.
"So, how do you get recommended?" Arthur asked, trying to gather more information while keeping his curiosity in check.
Ben grinned. "It's all about proving yourself. Strength, charisma, leadership. You don't just get in by being popular; you have to earn it. And trust me, no one ever forgets who's part of the Knight Guard. They're like... the school's royal guard, kind of. Plus, they get all kinds of perks—exclusive training, access to the best resources, you name it."
Arthur nodded slowly, taking all of it in. Perks, huh? That was something to think about. If he had to fit into this world for now, maybe becoming part of the Knight Guard would be his best move. He wasn't one to shy away from taking charge, after all.
But then another thought occurred to him. What if I could shape the story to be more like King Arthur's legends? What if I could turn these knights into something more than what they are in the current world?
"You really think they'll just accept anyone into the Knight Guard?" Arthur asked, glancing over at Ben with a curious expression.
Ben chuckled. "Well, if you've got the drive, they might take notice. But trust me, you'll have to do something big, something legendary. No one gets in by just showing up to class and getting good grades. It's about reputation. If you're going to make a name for yourself, it's got to be something everyone notices."
Arthur hummed thoughtfully. Legendary, huh? Well, I've got a legendary name, so maybe it's time to live up to it. But first... I need to see if this world will give me the same opportunities to rise to power as I did in my past life.
As the bell rang for the next class, Arthur stood up, preparing to follow Ben out of the classroom. His mind was buzzing with possibilities. If he played his cards right, he could turn this place into his kingdom—not by force, but by influence. He was Arthur Pendragon, after all, and whether this world was Shrek or an Arthurian tale, he'd figure out how to make his mark.
Ben was still talking, but Arthur wasn't paying much attention to the details anymore. His mind was already miles ahead, thinking about how to carve out a new destiny for himself in a world that was both familiar and utterly foreign.
Lancelot, Gawain, Tristan… my knights, huh? Maybe this is the start of something bigger than I expected.
With a confident stride, Arthur followed Ben out into the hall, ready to face whatever this strange new world would throw at him next. The Knight Guard might just be the first step toward his ultimate goal.
