Chapter 5 - Chapter 5: The Aftermath of Chaos – Welcome to the Academy!

The exam was over. Sylvie had somehow passed, despite nearly getting herself blasted, crushed, or permanently banned for misconduct multiple times.

Now, as the sun began to set over the academy, the new students gathered to receive their final placements. Instructor Garret stood before them, arms crossed, looking as stern as ever.

"You have all proven your abilities," he declared. "Some of you excelled in combat. Others displayed keen strategic minds. And some… used rather unconventional tactics to achieve victory."

Sylvie swore he was looking directly at her.

She gave him a bright, innocent smile.

Garret sighed and continued. "Your rankings will determine your starting class level, privileges, and dormitory assignments. Listen carefully."

Sylvie barely heard the names that came before hers. She wasn't nervous—she was curious. Given how she had fought, she didn't expect to be ranked too high, but she had shown her abilities.

Then—

"Sylvaine Ardent… Rank S."

A hush fell over the crowd.

Someone choked on their own spit.

Sylvie blinked. "Wait, what?"

Even Rosaline looked genuinely shocked. "S-Rank? How?"

Sylvie turned to Instructor Garret, half expecting him to tell her it was a mistake. But his gaze was dead serious.

"You displayed extraordinary adaptability and combat instincts," he said. "Your methods are unorthodox, but effective. We will see if you can live up to this rank."

Sylvie, still processing, finally broke into a grin. "Hell yeah! S-Rank on day one!"

Rosaline sighed. "This is a mistake."

The murmurs in the crowd were growing. Some students looked impressed, others furious.

Then, a voice cut through the noise.

"Tch. What a joke."

Sylvie turned toward the source—a tall girl with icy blue hair and piercing violet eyes. She stood with perfect posture, arms folded, looking at Sylvie like she was some kind of disease.

"An S-Rank? For someone like you?" she scoffed. "Did they hand it out as a pity award?"

Rosaline tensed. "Be careful, Sylvie. That's—"

"Victoria Aurelius."

The name clicked in Sylvie's mind. One of the strongest noble students, heir to the Aurelius family, and one of the original game's top-ranked warriors.

And a notorious pain in the ass.

Victoria's violet eyes narrowed. "If you think I'll acknowledge someone like you as an equal, you're mistaken."

Sylvie scratched her cheek, smirking. "Damn, we just met and you're already this hostile. What, do you hate me or something?"

Victoria's jaw tightened. "I despise people who don't take things seriously."

Sylvie sighed dramatically. "And here I thought we'd be besties."

A vein nearly popped on Victoria's forehead.

Before the conversation could escalate, Instructor Garret raised a hand. "That's enough. Personal grievances can be settled later. For now, all S-Rank students will move to the dormitory section reserved for top elites."

Sylvie perked up. "Elite dorms? Nice."

Rosaline, who was also Rank S, sighed. "Try not to cause trouble."

Sylvie grinned. "You know that's impossible."

The Elite Dorms – A Perv's New Playground

As soon as Sylvie entered the luxurious dormitory, she whistled in appreciation. The elite dorms were way nicer than she expected—spacious rooms, elegant furniture, even a private bathhouse.

And most importantly…

They were coed.

Well, coed in the sense that all the S-Rank students, regardless of gender, shared the same building.

Since this was a yuri academy, that meant Sylvie was surrounded by gorgeous girls of high status and talent.

Her mind raced with possibilities.

"This place… is paradise."

Rosaline elbowed her. "Focus."

Sylvie coughed. "Right, right. No perversion. I'll behave."

Rosaline gave her a deadpan look.

"Okay, I'll try to behave."

As they walked toward their assigned rooms, Sylvie suddenly heard a familiar voice.

"Ah, Sylvaine, we meet again."

She turned to see a girl with long, flowing silver hair and striking emerald eyes standing with a gentle smile.

Sylvie's brain short-circuited.

Celestia Evernight.

The Saint Heroine. The academy's idol of purity and grace. One of the most beloved characters in the original game.

And currently smiling at Sylvie like they were already friends.

Sylvie swallowed. Hard.

"Ah… hey."

Celestia giggled. "You seem surprised. Did you not expect to see me?"

Sylvie's mouth opened and closed. Crap. Celestia was the kind of girl that made even a battle-hardened pervert sweat.

Rosaline noticed and sighed heavily. "Celestia, be careful. She's… unpredictable."

Celestia tilted her head. "Unpredictable?"

Sylvie took a step back. Abort. Abort before you do something stupid.

"Welp! Great talk! Gotta go!"

She spun around to flee—

—and walked straight into someone else's chest.

"…Mmm?"

Sylvie looked up slowly, already regretting her life choices.

Iris Nightshade.

The Witch Heroine. A mysterious beauty with raven-black hair, crimson eyes, and a sharp, knowing smirk. Unlike Celestia's gentle aura, Iris had a more… dangerous charm.

And Sylvie had just walked straight into her.

Iris chuckled. "My, how bold. If you wanted to be close, you could have just asked."

Sylvie's soul left her body.

"Ah—"

Iris leaned closer, her lips almost brushing Sylvie's ear. "Or… do you prefer a more direct approach?"

Sylvie's brain exploded.

Rosaline groaned. "We've been here for five minutes. Five minutes!"

Celestia giggled behind her hand. "Ara, ara~"

Iris smirked, obviously enjoying Sylvie's meltdown.

Sylvie, meanwhile, prayed for divine intervention.
