Chapter 6 - chapter 6 : A mothers plea

Selena, Runa's mother, stood outside the palace, her heart heavy with worry. She had heard rumors of a war brewing, and she knew that she had to act fast.

She took a deep breath and pushed open the palace doors, striding confidently into the throne room. The king, Kael's father, looked up from his throne, a hint of surprise on his face.

"Selena," he said, his voice dripping with condescension. "What brings you to the palace?"

Selena's eyes flashed with determination. "I've come to talk to you about the war," she said, her voice firm. "I know that you're planning something, and I want you to stop it."

The king raised an eyebrow, a hint of amusement on his face. "And why should I do that?" he asked, his voice dripping with sarcasm.

Selena's face twisted in anguish. "Because I've lost enough to the last war," she said, her voice cracking with emotion. "I've lost my husband, my friends... I don't want to lose anyone else."

The king's expression softened, just for a moment. But then, his face hardened, and he leaned forward, his eyes glinting with desire.

"I'll cancel the war," he said, his voice low and husky. "But only if you agree to one condition."

Selena's eyes narrowed, her heart sinking. "What condition?" she asked, her voice wary.

The king's smile grew wider, his eyes glinting with lust. "You'll come to my bed," he said, his voice dripping with desire. "You'll be mine, and I'll cancel the war.

Selena's face twisted in anger, her eyes blazing with fury. "How dare you!" she spat, her voice venomous. "You think I'd ever agree to such a thing?"

Without hesitation, Selena raised her hand and slapped the king across the face. The sound echoed through the throne room, and the king's eyes widened in shock.

King Feros's face turned red with rage, his eyes blazing with fury. "Guards!" he bellowed, his voice echoing off the walls. "Throw her out! Throw her out of the palace!"

The guards rushed forward, grabbing Selena by the arms and dragging her away. She struggled and kicked, but they were too strong.

As they threw her out of the palace, King Feros turned to one of his advisors. "Assemble everyone in the meeting hall," he growled. "I have an urgent announcement to make."

The advisor nodded and rushed off to gather the nobles and advisors. King Feros watched him go, his eyes still blazing with anger.

He turned to one of his guards. "Find out everything you can about Selena," he snarled. "I want to know her secrets, her weaknesses. I want to know everything."

The guard nodded and bowed, rushing off to carry out the king's orders.

Meanwhile, Selena stood outside the palace, her heart still racing with anger. She knew that she had to be careful, that she had to protect herself and her daughter.

But she also knew that she couldn't back down. She had to keep fighting, no matter what .

The king's advisors and nobles gathered around the throne room, their faces filled with concern and curiosity. King Feros stood before them, his eyes gleaming with determination.

"My dear advisors," he began, his voice low and urgent. "The war has been fast-tracked. We will be marching into battle under the next full moon."

The room erupted into a flurry of whispers and gasps. Kael, who had been standing silently at the back of the room, stepped forward.

"Father," he said, his voice low and even. "I won't be going to war with you unless you tell me why we're fighting."

King Feros's face darkened, his eyes flashing with anger. But he knew that he couldn't afford to lose Kael's support. He was the key to their victory, and without him, they would surely lose.

"Very well," the king growled, his voice dripping with reluctance. "We're going to war because of the prophecy."

Kael's eyes narrowed, his face twisted in confusion. "What prophecy?" he demanded.

The king hesitated, his eyes darting around the room. But he knew that he had no choice. He had to tell Kael the truth.

"The prophecy of the chosen one," he said finally, his voice barely above a whisper. "It's said that a child born under the full moon will bring about a new era of peace and prosperity. But there's a catch."

Kael's eyes were fixed intently on his father, his face twisted in concentration.

"What catch?" he demanded.

The king's face twisted in a snarl. "The catch is that the child will be born to the enemy's leader. And we can't let that happen."

Kael's eyes widened in shock, his face pale with understanding. He knew now why they were going to war. And he knew that he had to make a choice.

Mi amor, let's continue the story!

Kael's eyes narrowed, his face twisted in determination. "I'll do it," he said finally, his voice low and even. "I'll follow your wish, Father."

King Feros's face lit up with a triumphant smile. "Excellent," he said, his voice dripping with satisfaction. "I knew I could count on you, Kael. Now, I have a special task for you."

Kael raised an eyebrow, his curiosity piqued. "What is it?" he asked.

"I want you to train our armies," the king said, his eyes gleaming with excitement. "You're the only one I trust to get the job done."

Kael nodded, his face twisted in concentration. "I won't let you down," he said.

Just then, Maria stood up, her eyes shining with determination. "I want to be trained too," she said, her voice firm.

Kael's eyes narrowed, his gaze flicking to Maria. "What are you talking about?" he asked.

Maria's face twisted in a fierce expression. "I'm talking about the war," she said. "I want to be a part of it. I want to fight alongside you."

King Feros's eyes widened in surprise, but then a sly smile spread across his face. "Ah, Maria," he said, his voice dripping with amusement. "You're a true warrior at heart, aren't you?"

Maria nodded, her eyes flashing with determination. "I am," she said. "And I want Kael to train me."

Kael's eyes narrowed, his gaze flicking to Maria. He knew that training Maria would be a challenge, but he also knew that he couldn't deny her request.

"Very well," he said finally, his voice low and even. "I'll train you."

Maria's face lit up with a triumphant smile, and she nodded eagerly. "Thank you, Kael," she said.

But Kael's eyes were already cold, his gaze flicking away from Maria. He knew that training her would be a distraction, a complication he didn't need.
