- This is a chapter that contains information about the world and the story of CYCLEBREAKER and it should be read before chapter 1. (It does not contain any spoilers)

- In the world of CYCLEBREAKER afterlife has been unjustly severed from people by the higher elites and the souls of the deceased are instead thrown into the forgotten realms, for the elites to harvest power from them.

- The people are not aware that this happening.

- Instead of being sent to the afterlife, deceased turn into hollows and are forced to rot in seclusion in the underworld. Ofcourse all of that is unknown to the normal people.

- The forgotten realms

The forgotten realms are an abundance of dying worlds that are unable to completely parish due to the amount of souls being send to them. Everytime a world is supposed to end it resets, releasing energy that the high elites use to harvest power for themselves.

- The underground

The underground is a place where hollows are secretly sent after death. A cold and dark secluded place where not even mice dare to visit.

- The Hollows

Hollows are are soulless remnants of humans that can't think nor react. Their whole existence is spent roting I'm the underground.

- CYCLEBREAKERS

In rare instances, during separation of the soul from the body, souls can shatter. While shattered a soul doesn't go to a single realm, instead it gets scattered across many of them and the hollow usually retains a piece of it aswell.

These hollows that still carry a piece of their soul with them are different. They can think and act for themselves, usually looking more human that the rest.

They get lead to the forgotten realms by the calling of their souls and become Cyclebreakers.

Regaining memories and powers by collecting fragments of their souls.

By fulfilling a requirement of the forgotten realms, a Cyclebreaker can regain a piece of their souls and and the cycle also releasing all the other souls resting in it. With that a Cyclebreaker can absorb the energy of the realm after it perishes and gain power that would normally be harvested by the higher elites.
