In no time, three remote-controlled robots were sent to the scene.
Under Dr. A167's control, the robots quickly located the main body of Containment Item-307. Watching through remote monitoring, Natasha finally saw the true appearance of Item-307. It was a purple vine that looked harmless, almost like an ordinary plant. However, Natasha knew this seemingly harmless plant had slaughtered 100 people in just half a day. Among these victims were heinous terrorists, well-equipped elite agents, and innocent civilians coerced by terrorists.
"It's over!" Natasha murmured tensely, watching Item-307 being continuously pruned.
Under the scissors of the robot, the vines of Item-307 were trimmed down, leaving only a two-centimeter main body. A careful remote-controlled robot placed the main body into a metal box. As the box was sealed shut, it marked the end of this containment operation.
"Congratulations, host! You have successfully contained Containment Item-307 - Carnivorous Ivy."
"Congratulations, host! You have gained the ability to summon and control Containment Item-307 (able to summon and control the Carnivorous Ivy anywhere)."
"Congratulations, host! You have obtained the ability to sense warm-blooded creatures (similar to the heat-sensing ability of snakes)."
"Congratulations, host! You have acquired part of Containment Item-307's characteristics: Plant Body (as long as the main body is unharmed, you can heal by consuming meat)."
"Congratulations, host! You have received 2 Shelter Cards (using a Shelter Card will prevent the target from being attacked or harmed by a containment item for 24 hours. Note: If you provoke the containment item, the Shelter Card will lose its effect)."
"Congratulations, host! You have obtained a vial of Containment Item-307's Rapid Growth Serum (using this serum will cause the Carnivorous Ivy to grow rapidly to a terrifying extent in a short time. You might try reverse-engineering the formula for surprises)."
"Congratulations, host! Your current legend points total is: 1550!"
"What kind of rewards are these?" Beichen wondered, bewildered by the system's continuous rewards.
This time, the rewards were not for the Foundation's strength but were personal abilities aimed at him. Heat-sensing ability, the ability to summon and control Containment Item-307, and a plant body. These were all ability-type rewards, specifically for the system host.
"Are the initial rewards for summoning containment items related to the organization's strength, while the subsequent rewards are personal abilities?" Beichen pondered.
Beichen contemplated deeply.
As for the 1500 legend points he had earned, Beichen didn't place much value on them. With 1500 points, he could only summon a containment item once randomly, which he found frustrating. If luck was on his side, it would be fine, but if it wasn't, summoning something as powerful as the Scarlet King could lead to disastrous consequences. In such a scenario, no amount of rewards could compensate for the potential destruction of the world. Beichen clearly understood the difference between short-term gain and long-term sustainability.
Beichen also began to understand the system's approach. The system seemed to encourage containment items to cause trouble but didn't want them to go completely out of control, a goal that aligned with his own. The system's pre-summoning rewards acted as a safeguard against the containment items going rogue. In contrast, the post-summoning rewards served as an incentive, tempting him to contain the items and grow stronger.
For instance, if he hadn't involved S.H.I.E.L.D. in the containment of Item-307, he might have earned less than 500 legend points. The significant contributors to his legend points were the S.H.I.E.L.D. agents, especially the trio. Reflecting on this, Beichen felt a sense of relief. Thankfully, he had involved S.H.I.E.L.D., using them to his advantage, otherwise, he wouldn't have amassed enough points to summon another containment item.
After organizing his rewards, Beichen turned to Natasha and said, "Natasha, you can move freely now. I have something to attend to."
With that, Beichen left the command room and headed to the underground training room of the base.
Once in the training room, Beichen summoned the Carnivorous Ivy. A purple vine emerged from thin air. Under Beichen's control, the vine wrapped around a nearby dummy and gradually tightened. After a series of bone-chilling cracking sounds, the dummy finally succumbed to the pressure, shattering into pieces.
Observing the destroyed dummy, Beichen mused, "The toughness and hardness are comparable to a plastic rod of the same size. Plus, with its paralyzing effect and easy control, this ability is quite powerful."
