After collecting the things that was brought to her, she looked around the office which was so perfect and looking at how her life is starting to change dramatically.
The cellphone placed on the table rang, she went there to pick it up, and it was Vincenzo voice.
"Ugh, I'm his personal assistant now, and I will get to be seeing his annoying face everyday" Ashely said as she finally picks it up with a disgusted eyes.
"I need you to come over to my office now, we still have some unfinished business left" Vincenzo said as he talks on the other end of the cellphone. And before she could even say anything again, it ended right away.
Ashely smirked as she drops the cellphone, she also dropped her bag, and look at her face on the mirror placed besides a huge art carefully placed on the wall, she touched it and it's a just a flower vase decorated and carefully placed with red roses, it looks so unique and real to her.
She finally leaves her office and sets to head straight to Vincenzo's office, on her way there, she met Victoria again but this time she was with some other coworkers, Ashely wanted to ignore them abd walk past them, so her friend won't embarrass her by not responding to her greetings.
"Miss Ashley, can I have a minute with you?"
Victoria called, as the other coworkers left them, leaving Ashely to wonder abd surprised.
"Thought you were going to ignore me forever" Ashely said, as she stepped back a little bit.
"Yes, I'm planning to do so, what are you doing here? Are you out of it? Don't you know the consequences of what you're doing right now? Yes, I guess you don't." Victoria said with an unreadable expression on her face..
"What is that supposed to mean?" Ashely responded without answering her questions.
"It's whatever you take it as, I don't want to be involved in your pretty little games, leave me out of it and watch your back, don't act as if you know me at all, this is the only source of my income please." Victoria Harris said, as she leaves Ashely dumfounded.
"Realizing everything that came out of her mouth, she shook her head differently trying to figure out what had come over her best friend, Victoria has always been supportive, why the sudden reaction and sudden attitude? " Leaving her thoughts to figure out themselves, she walks quietly with her heels as she headed straight to Vincenzo's office.
"I'm here, Ashely said trying to make herself look relevant after Vincenzo ignored her knocks and when she decided to finally enter. "
" It's not like something is in his mouth, why is he refusing to say anything, Ashely muttered as Vincenzo threw a file on the ground."
Pick it up and read it, those are my rules and regulations. Vincenzo said looking more serious and cold at the same thing.
She gently bent down to pick it up and she replied. " Throwing it away like that for me to pick is not really necessary, Ashely hissed as she reads the heading "
"You're forgetting your place again, you don't have any right to question any of my actions"
"ignoring Vincenzo's talk, you glanced through the file, it was sort of a contract, rules and regulations or whatever, she read it, looking at it all over again "
1. Confidentiality agreement, meaning all matter regarding business, personal affairs must remain strictly confidential.
2.You must be available and reachable at all times as my personal assistant, in short, availability at all times, excuses will no be accepted.
3. Dress code compliance, the company has a dressing code and you personally as my assistant must have the one I lay down. And it must not be breached.
4. No personal relationship with other coworkers, most especially males unless if it's business relationship. All workers in the company which includes you must maintain professional relationship.
5. Obedience without any excuse or question, instructions given by your boss must be strictly followed with no hesitation.
6. No authorized absence, you cannot leave the company premises without no permission from me. Excuses won't be allowed from you at all.
7. Breaching the contract will be like a grace mistake you won't think of in your entire life, think about it twice before going against it.
Ashely gasped after reading everything, she sees a space for signature meaning, she will have to sign it. Lost in her thoughts, she didn't know what exactly to do, the regulations were not really bad, he might like too much professionalism, but pondering about what Victoria told her is making her feel somehow.
She picks up a pen, as she wants to sign it, her phone buzzed, it was a message, she immediately ignored it and sign the contract leaving the original on the table as Vincenzo gave her the photocopied version.
"The original will be kept with my lawyer, all you have to do is to follow the rules and regulations, "You're dismissed," Vincenzo says. His voice is as cold as ever, but the last word—just the last word—carries something else. Not uncertainty, not hesitation, not fear but it's something Ashley can't quite place.
"She bowed gently, leaving the office as she closed the door behind her, she remembers the message that was sent to her and she decided to check it."
"I don't think you're taking the right step, leave there before something else happen to you, you just signed your life away" it was a message sent by an unknown number. As she sets to type to the sender, she noticed she has been blocked.
"Sorry, you can't respond to this sender"
Since I've been involved in this scenario, I've been receiving messages from an unknown number, what is really happening? Ashely said loudly as she stomped on her feet in annoyance, she headed straight to her office in annoyance again.
"Am I really taking the right steps?" These were the questions going through her mind, she doesn't know what to choose, it's like a roll dice, head or tail? She have to choose between her family and the protection and the riches they need or to run away from the reality she's facing, she has been running after this kind of opportunity since all these days, I mean, who gives someone a Job after getting slapped by the public? The more she thinks about it, the more afraid she gets.
"I can't really back out now, I don't have any other options, if I back out I'll be ruined, Ashley
said sitting down as she runs her hand on her hair with frustration.
