"Beach trip!" I announced to Akari, Mei, and Reina. "How about we hit the coast for some sun, sand, and surf?" 🎉
"Sounds amazing!" Akari exclaimed, her eyes sparkling.
"I'm in," Mei agreed, a mischievous glint in her eyes.
"I'd love that," Reina said softly, a hint of excitement in her voice.
"And," I added, "I'm bringing along Takeshi and Haru from the gaming club."
Takeshi and Haru, my comedic sidekicks, erupted in cheers. "Beach party!" Takeshi declared. "I'm bringing my inflatable flamingo."
"And I'm bringing enough snacks to feed a small army," Haru added, patting his bulging backpack. 🍽️
We piled into the rented van. I felt a surge of excitement, but also a wave of nervousness. I ended up sitting next to the window, feeling a little awkward with Reina across from me. Takeshi and Haru, bless their souls, ended up squeezed in the back, their commentary already in full swing.
"Look at Kenjie, all shy and stuff," Takeshi whispered to Haru.
"Yeah, he's like a deer in headlights," Haru replied, chuckling.
I tried to ignore them, focusing on admiring the scenery.
As we drove along the coast, I felt a gentle weight on my shoulder. I glanced to my side and saw Reina, her head resting lightly on my shoulder, fast asleep. 😮 I froze, not wanting to disturb her. She looked so peaceful, her long black hair cascading down my arm. I carefully adjusted my position, trying to provide a more comfortable pillow for her head.
A blush crept up my neck. This was unexpected, to say the least. I tried to focus on the scenery, but all I could think about was Reina sleeping peacefully against me.
When we arrived at the beach, I was blown away. The sand was pristine white, the water a sparkling turquoise, and the sun was warm and inviting. ☀️
Reina stirred awake, her eyes fluttering open. "Did… did we arrive?" she asked, her voice groggy.
"We're here," I said, feeling a warmth spread through me.
She blushed and quickly sat up straight. "I… I'm so sorry. I must have fallen asleep."
"No worries," I said, trying to play it cool. "You looked peaceful."
The girls changed into their swimsuits, and I couldn't help but steal a glance. Akari wore a vibrant bikini that accentuated her athletic figure. We spent the day swimming, sunbathing, playing beach volleyball, and building an elaborate sandcastle. Takeshi and Haru provided endless entertainment with their antics, while I tried my best to participate and enjoy myself.
During a break, I sat with Reina under the shade of a palm tree. "This is perfect," she said, sighing contentedly. "I haven't relaxed like this in ages."

Mei, meanwhile, proved to be a surprisingly competitive swimmer, leaving everyone else in the dust. "I'm a bit of a water nymph," she said, laughing as she climbed out of the ocean, water droplets clinging to her skin. 📸
