Chapter 1 - Chapter 1

"A moment of clarity wrapped in cringe"

'Logically one should never get married' is what I heard from the woman I've been around, they tell you various reasons not to be with a man, Man are hideous, they are selfish and cruel is what I heard most of the time and I sometimes agree with them, Men are the biggest Bitch.

"HEY, I'm Areeba Goelet… nice to meet you probably." I say to the guy in front of me, who is sitting on the luxury chair and table of this expensive restaurant, well I shouldn't have come but I can't say NO to my dad basically and especially when I make him angry, So as of the so-called punishment, I'm attending a blind date.

He looks up at me sarcastically and says " Well well, who did we get here? Areeba? You're that invisible shadow that doesn't attend parties or even events, I was hoping you won't come, that I would just have a alone date but what changed your mind bae?" He has done a background check on me I knew it but then he giggles, like he never expected me, This is Bitch number one Zach Lee, He is the youngest spoiled son of the Lee family and throws Money around like paper and don't give a shit about anything aside from himself but there is a twist in him, He is Gay and no one knows expect I've done a background check on him too.

"Oh my your highness, I have some circumstances or you know I won't even step in here..haha" I laughed awkwardly and that 'highness' I said there was to remind him that I know what he doesn't want others to know.

"Yeah yeah…so anyways 31 minutes we got more to deal with each other, what would you like to have? Drinks or meals?" I sank into the plush chair, trying not to look impressed. Across from me, he sat, perfectly put-together in a suit that seemed like it had been stitched to him this morning. He slid me the menu with a polished little flick, his cologne just faint enough to tease, was that lavender?

I opened the menu, blinking at prices that screamed, Hope you didn't plan on eating for the rest of the month. My eyes wandered left, catching the huge glass wall and the dazzling city lights beyond it. Fancy.

I looked back at him, all delicate smiles and perfect posture. Yep, definitely too pretty to be real.

I asked the universe why the most beautiful and perfect mens are gay. Well that didn't give me the answer so I ordered "Think I'll go with the salmon," I said, closing the menu and giving him a nod. Let's see if this place can make fish worth fifty bucks.

He didn't say anything. Just nodded when I ordered, his face unreadable. When the food arrived, we started eating, not a word passing between us, no glances, nothing. Just the quiet clinking of silverware on plates, each of us focused on our own little world. Thirty minutes passed like that…silent, almost surreal.

Finally, as we finished, I set my napkin down and glanced up. "I can get home on my own," I said, my voice steady. "You can go."

He looked at me for a moment, nodded again, then rose, leaving without a word. And just like that, he was gone.

I got up after he left. The bill was already paid. Even if he acts like a gentleman, believe me he is totally a bitch and there's more to it, But rather right now I should figure out how to get home.

I stepped out into the quiet, chilly night, pulling my coat close. The streets were mostly empty, just a few cars passing by and the streetlights casting faint shadows. It was late, later than I'd planned. My heels echoed softly as I walked, hands shoved into my pockets, my breath a faint mist in the air.

I wandered to the corner of the road, watching cars pass by, their headlights flashing in the dark. I couldn't help but think…who'd say no to a girl in a red A-line skirt dress, black coat, and heels, looking perfect under the city lights? For lift.

A sleek, red Ferrari pulled up beside me, the window rolling down to reveal a guy with a muscular build, looking all too pleased with himself. "Get in," he said, his voice more a demand than a question. "Need a ride?"

I raised my hands, giving a sarcastic bow. "Thanks, but my boyfriend's picking me up," I replied, watching his expression shift, disappointment flashing across his face before he sped off into the night. No thanks, I thought. The last thing I need is someone bossy.

The street fell silent again. Minutes later, headlights appeared in the distance, a car speeding toward me with no sign of slowing down. Something in me stilled, like everything had led to this moment. Without another thought, I stepped forward, arms open, waiting for the rush of impact as the car hurtled closer, inches from hitting me.

The car screeched to a halt, and the drive. a well-built guy dressed all in black, burst out, anger radiating off him. "Do you have a death wish or something?" he yelled, his deep voice booming in the still night. I could've died just then, but here I was, heart racing.

He continued, shouting if I was blind or if I wanted to die, and to do it somewhere else. I stood my ground, finally meeting his fierce gaze. As he ranted, a thought struck me, completely absurd yet perfectly fitting for the moment.

With a straight face, I replied, "Marry me."
