Chapter 1 – Game Over? No, It's Just Beginning.
Noah Kaizen had always been a gamer. Not just the kind who played for fun, but one who lived and breathed for the thrill of beating impossible challenges.
So when he found an old, dusty game cartridge in his family's storage, he was immediately intrigued. The label was barely legible, but he managed to make out the words:
ECLIPSE OF THE GODS
"Never heard of this one," Noah muttered.
It looked ancient, from an era when games were still on physical media. He plugged it into his Quantum Console, a next-gen system capable of running even prehistoric games.
To his surprise, the game booted up perfectly.
The Final Battle
Noah didn't waste time. Twenty straight days of non-stop grinding, fighting through hordes of enemies, and dodging traps led him to the final boss:
The Demon King, Ravos.
It was brutal. Every move had to be perfectly timed, every counter precisely executed. But Noah had mastered the game mechanics faster than it should've been possible.
And then—after what felt like an eternity—he won.
"YOU HAVE DEFEATED THE DEMON KING!"
The game's world fell silent. He had done it.
But then… nothing happened.
There was no grand ending. No victory cutscene. Just his character standing there, the Demon King's dead body lying on the ground.
A new quest prompt appeared.
FINAL TASK: Deliver the Demon King's Heart to the Capital and Offer it to the Gods.
Noah stared at it. That was it?
He shrugged. "Meh, I'm satisfied."
He had already beaten the hardest boss. What was the point of dragging things out?
He powered down the game.
The Mistake
Bored, Noah reached for something new—the latest AI action RPG with groundbreaking AI and ultra-realistic combat. He inserted it into the console.
Without removing Eclipse of the Gods.
That was the mistake.
The moment the new game began loading, his screen glitched.
The UI warped; the colors bled together. Noah's heart pounded as he saw text flickering wildly across the screen:
MERGING…
LOADING INCOMPATIBLE FILES…
SYSTEM ERROR.
CORRUPTION DETECTED.
The lights in his room flickered violently. A deep, robotic voice—something not human—whispered from his speakers:
"You abandoned us…"
Noah barely had time to react before a blinding flash of light swallowed him whole.
A New Reality
When Noah opened his eyes, he wasn't in his room anymore.
He was lying on cold stone, the rough texture scraping against his skin. He groaned and pushed himself up.
Something felt off.
His clothes were different—a simple tunic and rough trousers. His high-tech console, his futuristic gaming setup—all gone.
He was in a medieval village. Wooden houses, dirt roads, and townsfolk bustled around him.
This was not a dream.
And then, the realization hit him like a hammer.
He was inside the game.
Not the Hero… Just an NPC?
Noah panicked. He opened the status menu—or at least tried to.
Nothing happened.
He tried again. No response.
A sinking feeling settled in his chest. He looked down at his hands, then at the people around him. Something was very wrong.
No sword. No armor. No class.
And then, the worst part.
A nearby NPC character walked past him. He could tell because they had no nameplates, no glowing weapons, and no aura of power.
And when he tried to talk to them… they ignored him.
Like he wasn't even there.
That's when it hit him.
He hadn't reincarnated as the hero.
He was just a commoner.
An NPC.
The System Wants Him Dead
Before Noah could even process his situation, a notification appeared before his eyes.
WARNING: SYSTEM ERROR DETECTED.
UNREGISTERED ENTITY FOUND.
TERMINATING…
His body froze.
Something fast was coming.
From the rooftops, shadowy figures descended like reapers, their eyes glowing with cold, calculated precision.
The game itself was trying to erase him.
Noah had no weapons. No skills. No status screen.
But one thing was clear—
If he didn't escape, he'd be deleted.
And this time, it would be permanent,
GAME OVER.
