In the beginning there were only the dull and monotonous humans. There was no magic, only organisms that live with nature. During that time there was a human, which was like no other. This human had the power to create and he called it magic. During his stay at a village he was despised and hated for the power he wields, The pride and Jealousy of the other humans made him into an outcast and later burned at the stakes.
In a pit of anger the human said these last words, "I curse them and everything they have done to me, make them suffer for the mistakes they will make on this day."
As time passed the humans forgot the curse of the man and when the cursed humans started to give birth to magic weiling children they buried the curse and claimed it as a miracle from the gods.
As millions of years passed it started the era of myths, legends and magic not realizing the curse which laid the foundation of their society. Then they started the worshiping of other gods and goddesses out of ignorance.
"What do you think?"
"That was a boring story Mr. Atlas."
He sighed before he covered his face and showed them a spell which created water droplets with lights which made rainbows. The children who were there listening to the story were amazed like moths allured by the light of the flame.
"You children only listen to my stories when you want to watch me do magic."
"Come on Mr. Atlas, magic is cool that's why."
"But I'm a storyteller."
"And a magician!"
Atlas sat there hurt by the words of the children and felt a touch on his shoulders, he looked up to see a knight with grey armor and a crest which was a star within a half circle which was the symbol of the lord in the territory which they are in.
He gave a smile before he asked what the magician was doing. Atlas avoided the eyes of the knight and answered him.
"Um nothing."
"You know unlicensed magic is not allowed so why do you keep doing this."
"You know I can't get a license and that's also why you always let me off."
The knight sighed and started to scold him. Atlas sat there with his head down and his knees to the gravel. The children giggled before the knight started scolding them too.
"Seriously Atlas, stop encouraging them with your magic. I could get in trouble for letting you go every time I catch you."
"But you also know that I let you catch me."
"Don't get coy with me."
"Fine."
Atlas still with his head down and the knight sighed and told him to look at him. When he looked up the knight asked him a question.
"You said a while ago you were going to leave, tell me when you do so I can give you a lift to where you need to go,Okay?"
The knight said before he waved his hands and left toward his house. Atlas stood up from his kneeling pose and patted the dirt from his knees before looked back at the group of children which are commoners and said to them with a grin,
"Who wants to see more magic"
The children cheered and they got back to listening to Atlas' stories
----------
After waving goodbye to the children, he walked toward the house of the knight from that afternoon. He knocked at the door to see the wife of the knight waving hello to him. She grabbed his hands and dragged him to the dining table.
"Oh my, Atlas you are all dirty. Where are you showing the children magic again?"
Giving an awkward smile he softly said "yes." She sighed and ordered him to go upstairs and get cleaned up. He followed the directions and went to the bathroom to clean himself. While he was doing that, she got back to cooking a dinner for Atlas and her husband.
When Atlas had finished cleaning up, he walked down to see the dinner table full of food which also the Knight and his wife was waiting for him. He smiled before happily walking over to the table and sat down.
They closed their eyes and said a prayer before they started to eat their food. After the prayer the knight asked Atlas a question,
"Atlas, you are turning 25 soon, right?"
The Knight said as was stuffing down the food. His wife stares at him with a menacing glare before Atlas coughed and answered him.
"Yes, I am, I am thinking of leaving tomorrow morning. You said that you could give me a ride to the next town over so I came here to see if you could."
The knight joyfully accepted the favor and Atlas stayed there and talked with them over the dinner.
----------
As Atlas was leaving, he looked back and waved his hand before he disappeared into the night. The two married couples there went back inside to see a small flower in a vase waiting for the two of them.
Noticing this they also saw a card on the table where they were dining before. They walked over before opening it and read the letter out loud.
