Chapter 1 - *Chapter 1: The Diagnosis

Alex is a beautiful, loving and caring girl loved by everyone around her. She is the only child of her parents, Mr and Miss Thompson who are lawyers.

Alexandra "Alex" Thompson was a typical 17-year-old high school student. She loved spending time with her friends, going to parties, and cheering at school sports events. She was a member of the school's debate team and was passionate about social justice. Alex was also a dedicated student, always striving to get good grades and make her parents proud.

on a sunny afternoon in late March, Alex's life took a dramatic turn. She had been feeling tired and weak for a few weeks, but she had brushed it off as stress from school. However, when she started experiencing severe abdominal pain, she knew something was wrong.

After some days Alex noticing her hair coming off, she was so scared, she thought about telling her parents about what she has been feeling for sometime now but her parents are so busy. They always come back home later look so stressed out, she decided to visit the hospital only

Alex sat alone in the doctor's office, her heart racing with anticipation. She had been feeling tired and weak for weeks, and she knew that something was wrong.

The doctor, a kind-faced woman with a warm smile, came into the room and sat down beside Alex.

The doctor asked her about her parents and she said her parents left the country for a business work. She asked the doctor to tell her what's wrong with her and the doctor said,

"Alex, I'm so sorry to have to tell you this," the doctor said, her voice gentle but firm. "But the test results are back, and it looks like you have cancer."

Alex felt like she had been punched in the gut. She couldn't breathe, couldn't think. All she could do was sit there, staring blankly at the doctor.

"How...how bad is it?" Alex managed to stammer.

The doctor hesitated, her eyes filled with compassion. "It's...it's not good, Alex. The cancer is advanced, and we'll need to start treatment right away."

Alex felt a wave of fear wash over her. She was only 17, and she had her whole life ahead of her. She couldn't die now, not when she had so much left to experience.

But as she looked at the doctor, Alex knew that she had to be strong. She had to face this, no matter how scared she was.

"Okay," Alex said, taking a deep breath. "What's the plan?"

The doctor smiled, a small, sad smile. "We'll start with chemotherapy, and then we'll see where we go from there."

Alex nodded, her heart heavy with emotion. She knew that this was just the beginning of a long, hard journey. But she was ready. She was ready to fight.
