BEST PART OF HIGH SCHOOL
Chapter one
DEBORAH
*Alarm rings*
I woke up hurriedly and switched it off ,then I walked excitedly to the bathroom and had my bath and got dressed and ready for school.That's right school resumes today and the best part is I am starting a new term in s.s2.
Don't mind my bad manners .my name is Adedeji omolara Deborah.I am sixteen and the second child of my parents and like every other student in my school I am excited for a new term.
Deborah:(I headed downstairs to have breakfast)morning mum and dad(I kissed them both and sat down).
Derele:Oya stand up(a voice thunders).
Deborah:but brother derele I want to sit beside mummy
Derele:you can,when you become the second child
Deborah:but I am the second child
Derele:(laughs)who give you?my dear second to the last.ask your parents well
"Oops ,did I say I was the second child ?I probably meant second to the last born.let me formally introduce you to the family .my dad mr Adedeji James ,a prominent business man ,and also the most tolerated member of this family .my dad can be so calm ,sometimes you get intimidated by his calmness.then my mum Mrs Adedeji Rachel .the boss lady herself who makes orders and literally do all the shouting and screaming,but also behind all the shouting and screaming is my very playful mum who still likes to dress up as a young sisi at the age of fifty.
Then my elder brother.bro Tayo is currently based in abroad with his newly wedded wife for their honeymoon.uncle tayo like my dad is quite a gentleman but also as a little of my mum's scoin-scoin.
Then to brother Derele who claims to be the oldest now that brother Tayo is married is a nice bully ,a graduate in search of work as he bluntly refused to work with dad at his company but search for like other youths.he can also be reasonable when he isn't in one of those his moods .right now he his focused on his life at being a photographer.Then we head to my elder sister ,Aunty Fikayomi .she is more like my best friend and I like to share my thoughts with her .she is writing her 300lvl currently and is staying in campus which I basically don't like.
Then there's me omolara Deborah .the weirdo of the family for starters I am dark skinned ,I can't dance ,I can't finish a lyrics correctly ,and until recently I hate taking snaps .I am more compassionate ,but also wicked at the same time.
Then there's the last born of the house ,who likes to get on my nerves .MERCY,she is ten and would be starting her first day in junior high school today ,like me she is excited.
Deborah:dad,brother derele as started again(I whined).
Mercy:cry baby
Deborah:if I sleep you ehn ,you will never forget the weight of it.
Mercy:(instead of being frightened,she wagged her tongue at me and laughed).
Dad:enough you two ,eat up and get to school(he said with his usual calm manner).
*few minutes later*
I got to school and hurried out of the car to hug my two best friends waiting for me outside
Deborah:A.Y ,Emmanuella .(I squealed as we had a group hug)I missed you girls so muchhhh
A.Y:me too .I basically spent the holidays thinking
about you two.
Emmanuella: really?didn't you just say you spent your holidays with a guy you met on your trip
Deborah:really?and you are gisting about it without waiting for me(I said sounding disappointed).
A.Y :I am sorry omolara ,im just super excited
Deborah:no biggie ,but you have to start all over ,let head to class (I suggested and they squealed again^seems like I am not the only one excited about being in ss2 . We got to class and took the back roll ,don't get us wrong we were straight As students but we could be bad girls too. After settling into our new class we went to the school hall for the morning assemblies.more student began to troop in during morning devotion and soon the school hall was filled up with both old and new students .after the national and school anthem the principal,Mrs Arayola mounted the podium for the usual new term sermon.
Principal:.....remember,you all should focus on your studies like always ,I wouldn't want any complains from your subject teachers also to the ss2 students who would be contesting for one of the prefectship post ,I would like you all to start preparing your memos .you all can go to your class ,any further information will be passed before the end of the day.
Students : "they all head out of the hall to their various classes "
Deborah: wow(I said as we walked to our class)
A.Y: so guys ,which of the prefectship post are we going for.I am thinking library prefect.
Emmanuella: well I am going for music prefect,the last person did a last job(she scowled) Debby what are you going for?
Deborah:nothing(I Said as I settled in a chair and smiled)all I care about is making this semester the best for me
She didn't realize that term had already had things prepared for her .
