Chapter 1 - Chapter 1: and Return

Lin Wanqing suddenly opened her eyes, the glaring sunlight forcing her to raise her hand to shield them. Chaotic cries and exclamations filled her ears as she stared at the scene before her—an antique room, a carved bed, and maids and servants dressed in ancient costumes.

"Where... where is this?" Her heart skipped a beat, and she sat up abruptly.

"The young miss is awake! The young miss is awake!" a maid exclaimed in surprise.

Wanqing looked around, memories flooding back like a tide. She was a top modern surgeon who had died in an accident. Unexpectedly, she had been reborn into ancient times as the legitimate daughter of the Lin family, Lin Wanqing.

"Miss, you're finally awake! The doctor said you might... might..." The maid, Xiao Cui, choked up, unable to continue.

Wanqing took a deep breath, quickly calming herself. She knew now wasn't the time to ponder the mystery of her rebirth. She needed to adapt to this new identity as soon as possible.

"Young master! The young master..." Urgent footsteps sounded from outside, and a servant rushed in, his face pale. "The young master suddenly fainted, and the doctor says... says he might not make it!"

Wanqing's heart tightened. The young master? That was her younger brother, Lin Yichen. In her previous life, she didn't have many memories of him, but now, she couldn't stand by and do nothing.

"Quick, take me to him!" Wanqing decisively got out of bed and followed the servant to her brother's room.

Inside the room, Lin Yichen lay on the bed, his face pale and his breathing faint. Several doctors surrounded the bed, at a loss.

"His pulse is weak; I'm afraid it's more bad than good," one doctor said, shaking his head.

Wanqing pushed through the crowd and quickly assessed her brother's symptoms. With her modern medical knowledge, she immediately recognized it as acute myocarditis.

"Prepare silver needles and hot water!" Wanqing ordered calmly.

"Miss, what are you going to do?" Xiao Cui asked in panic.

"Save him," Wanqing replied succinctly.

She quickly obtained the silver needles and, relying on her memory of acupuncture, precisely inserted them into her brother's acupoints. At the same time, she instructed the maids to prepare warm water and cloths to stabilize his temperature.

Everyone present was stunned; they had never seen a woman practice medicine, let alone with such decisive confidence.

After half an incense stick's time, Lin Yichen's breathing gradually steadied, and some color returned to his face.

"He's fine now," Wanqing said, relieved, wiping the sweat from her forehead.

"Miss, how... how did you do that?" Xiao Cui was dumbfounded.

Wanqing smiled slightly, about to explain, when she caught sight of a familiar figure at the door—her stepsister, Lin Xue'er. A flash of panic and jealousy crossed Xue'er's eyes before she quickly regained her composure.

Wanqing's heart stirred. In her previous life, Xue'er was one of the culprits behind her death. Could it be... that she had also been reborn?
