Chapter 2 - Chapter 2: An Ordinary Day for a Yamazaki

Kuro Yamazaki's POV

It's been 13 years since I was born into the Yamazaki clan, as Haruto's older brother and Shintaro's son.

At first, things were... boring.

This place reeks of tradition, and there's literally no computer!!!

I spent 12 years without a computer or console!

I'm really frustrated, but that's not the only negative point.

The other negative point is the guy in front of me.

"Your teachers seem to appreciate your explosive evolution," declared a middle-aged man, eating calmly without giving me a glance.

Yes, this guy is Shintaro Yamazaki, the legitimate leader of the clan and the older brother of the current chief.

"Onii-san is too strong!!"

Haruto didn't miss the opportunity to express his pride in me.

I simply smiled before patting the kid's head to calm his excitement in front of the indoctrinated monster in front of us.

Surprisingly, Shintaro didn't reprimand Haruto's "unrespectable" behavior, but he smiled slightly.

Of course, it wasn't a flagrant smile, but rather a discreet one, difficult to discern or understand its nature.

Is he happy? Or is he plotting something...

My father, in this life, is really hard to figure out.

"Yes, your brother is currently the strongest of the clan's children."

The sudden statement caught me off guard, but it also made me nervous.

You have to understand that Shintaro is extremely stingy with praise.

He doesn't settle for a simple 8/10 for his sons.

As a result, Haruto and I are subjected to extreme pressure.

He has always pushed me to be the best, and I have never received direct compliments from him.

While I was lost in my thoughts, he placed an envelope on the table at that moment.

"The elders have decided to test your strength, so... don't disappoint me."

He finished his tea, stood up abruptly, and left without looking back.

Really, a man of few words.

I executed the ethics of recognition towards a superior, then I took the envelope.

"So, Onii-san, what's inside?" Haruto pressed against me as I tried to open the envelope given by Shintaro.

"Sorry, Haruto flick, maybe next time."

After performing Itachi's classic move, I slipped away despite my little brother's pouting and cute expression.

This kid is really the incarnation of sweetness, he's just too cute.

I should really prevent Shintaro from killing him this time.

Once in my room, I opened the envelope containing my first mission as a Yakuza.

There were many unnecessary polite formulas, but in summary, it was simply about going to collect the protection money provided by the Yamazaki syndicate to the main gangs in a district in Tokyo.

Although this mission might seem simple, it wasn't.

These gangs are affiliated with our syndicate, but they will naturally feel despised if a kid, not an officer, comes to collect their protection money from civilians.

Thus, the clan elders want to test either my strength or my ability to manage slightly too energetic subordinates.

"Sigh... It seems I've attracted too much attention since I got my phone."

Unfortunately ,I only got my phone just a year ago.

Despite my insistence, Shintaro doesn't really appreciate technology for children, but this scumbag didn't hesitate to send me to the Kojima brothers from a very young age.

"It's a pity that the supernatural training application doesn't install on stolen phones, but only on mine."

Fortunately for me, I've already reached the strength of a crew boss from South Gangbuk in Seoul.

It's fast... but a bit slow compared to Suhyeon Kim and Choyun, who are both system users.

"My only advantage is that I literally don't receive real quests, except those related to daily training in the Physical, Mental, and Martial Arts options."

Thus, I am not a system slave.

I do have penalties if I don't train on an option, but they don't threaten my life and simply deactivate the specific option for a month.

If you're lazy, it might seem acceptable... but a whole month without training is a huge waste of time for a martial artist.

It's also because of this that I've lost a tremendous amount of time.

I tested the penalty twice, on two different options, because I wanted to know if it got worse or if it changed.

Spoiler: the penalty remains the same.

Apart from this damn penalty, it should also be noted that the intensity of the training increases slightly each day... a real hell.

"I'd better get dressed and finish quickly with these delinquents..."

...

(Kanto Region, Tokyo Prefecture, Shibuya District)

"Get lost, kid, you're not the usual Yamazaki syndicate officer and I don't want to waste my time."

*cigar exhalation*

An overweight man, dressed in fancy attire, responded to me in an unpleasant tone after my attempt to obtain the money through diplomatic means.

"Shit, not again..."

*sigh*

I couldn't help but distort my face, mentally exhausted after dealing with several idiots like him in one day.

*bam*

A guy behind me threw away my Fanta can before grabbing me by my shirt collar.

"You disrespectful ignorant, do you know who you're addressing?"

Despite his unbearable voice and his shouting, my face remained indifferent.

I was busy observing the "casino" around, making sure not to damage the infrastructure.

I didn't want to create a mess here and give him a reason not to pay the Yamazaki clan's protection money later.

"Are you listening to me?!" Before he could shake me again by my black shirt collar, I nonchalantly grabbed his wrist.

"What the?!" The man was surprised by my firm grip, which didn't really match my juvenile appearance.

I slowly pressed harder and harder, until he found himself on his knees before me.

"I'm not going to repeat myself, you're late for the payment of the protection money you owe to the Yamazaki syndicates, and I'm here to collect it."

I swept the room with a cold gaze before fixing my attention on the overweight man, now sweating.

"If you can't pay, then I'll be forced to take it myself, one way or another."

Hardly had I finished my words when the overweight man rose from his extravagant armchair before shouting: "Grab him and teach him a lesson!"

"I see... Father won't be happy."

On the provided list of gangs, I had almost destroyed more than 80% before obtaining a guarantee proving that the money would be paid with interest.

For the remaining 20%... Let's say the hospital bill will be tough.

Why do I say that Shintaro possibly won't be happy?

I was supposed to collect the money, not damage or destroy the source of this money after my passage.

So, this idiot really isn't making things easy for me...
