This was an unknown planet and land, yet it possessed a civilization and history strikingly similar to Earth. Here, miracles were woven into every inch of the terrain!
In the mountain ranges of the southwestern border lay a desolate area housing a massive obsidian structure. Like a slumbering primordial beast, it exuded an aura of terror and gloom. Even the air seemed thick with a bloodthirsty oppression that made one's scalp tingle at first glance.
This was the most feared forbidden zone in the entire Zhenyun Region - affectionately dubbed the "Ultimate Asylum" by locals. Its cells held only those deemed by society as heinous criminals and deranged maniacs. This fortress had become synonymous with death and demons. Those imprisoned here either faced lifetimes of confinement or became playthings clutched in Death's bony fingers - most would soon be executed, vanishing silently from the world.
On this day, the ominous asylum received unexpected visitors. A military-green SUV with special plates screeched to a halt before the beast-like maw of the compound. Two figures emerged - a man and woman who would draw stares even in bustling metropolises.
The man wore an immaculate suit, his ramrod posture and steely gaze betraying military origins. The woman was devastatingly beautiful, her professional attire accentuating curves that could incite riots among the asylum's inmates. Their guide was the asylum's warden himself, who led them through the oppressive corridors with urgent steps.
"Warden, where is he?" The man's voice held military crispness as they entered the office.
"I've sent for him. He'll arrive shortly," the warden replied calmly.
"Sent for? Not retrieved from his cell?" The beauty arched an eyebrow skeptically.
The warden merely smiled. The man they awaited needed no shackles. Once a living legend, his past glory commanded respect even here.
"Yue'er, check your attitude when he arrives," the military man warned his companion, Su Wanyue. "If even Chen Liuhe can't save your father, we must prepare for the worst."
Su Wanyue trembled. "Uncle Liu, this concerns my father's life! How can we stake everything on some... criminal?"
The man leaned closer. "Remember the international incident last year? Thirty-eight foreign casualties in one night?" Seeing realization dawn, he nodded. "That was Chen Liuhe's work. Only the political fallout forced his confinement here. Even now, military legends speak of his capabilities."
As Su Wanyue absorbed this, the door burst open. The man who entered stood at 6'2", his crew-cut framing angular features that told of hardened experience. Though barely twenty-five, his eyes held the weariness of ancient warriors.
"So you're Chen Liuhe?" Su Wanyue masked disappointment - this slouching figure hardly matched her expectations of a legendary operative.
Chen lit a cigarette from the warden's desk, blowing smoke rings. "State your business."
"We need you to neutralize a foreign incursion," the military man said bluntly. "The Blood Wolf Mercenary Group has taken Green Source Group's chairman hostage. They're extracting critical commercial secrets to the border."
Chen's eyebrows rose. "World's 13th-ranked mercenary outfit? Your family pissed off someone important, princess." He smirked at Su Wanyue's glare. "Terms?"
"Complete this, walk free."
Chen chuckled, retrieving a crescent-shaped blade from the warden. "Blood Wolf pups? They'll piss themselves when they see this." He strode out without looking back.
Watching the jeep disappear, Su Wanyue whispered, "Can we trust him?"
"That 'criminal' once stormed foreign embassies alone for love," the military man sighed. "The woman he avenged later abandoned him. A tragic hero, condemned by his own passion."
The engine's roar faded into the wilderness, carrying the last hope against encroaching shadows.
