Synopsis
Diana's life is crumbling—her boyfriend’s betrayal was the final blow after a series of heartbreaks, including her mother’s illness and the suffocating loneliness of losing her best friend. Just when she thinks things can’t get any worse, fate intervenes in the most unexpected way—by binding her to a man who is anything but ordinary. Dexter Blackwood is a billionaire with a dangerous secret. Ruthless in business, cold in relationships, and haunted by a shadowed past, he has spent years protecting the truth about what he really is—a werewolf bound by ancient laws and hunted by unseen enemies. When scandal threatens to expose him, he does the unthinkable: he marries Diana, a complete stranger, to shift the narrative. What starts as a sham turns into something far more dangerous. Sparks ignite, but neither of them is willing to lower their guard. Diana sees a man drowning in secrets, and Dexter finds himself drawn to the one woman who isn’t afraid of him. But when dark forces from both their pasts resurface, they must decide—will they fight for their future together, or will fate tear them apart? Because in a world where monsters lurk in the shadows, love may be the deadliest gamble of all.

Chapter 1 - And so it begins.

I always knew the woods could be dangerous at night. My grandmother used to whisper old stories of shadows that moved between the trees, of eyes that gleamed like molten gold just beyond the firelight. But I never believed them—until now.

There's something out there.

The air is too still, the night too quiet. Even the crickets have fallen silent, as if they know what lurks beyond the edge of my vision. I should turn back, run home, bolt my doors. But something in me—something I can't explain—won't let me.

It's like a pull, deep in my chest, a thread winding through my ribs, yanking me forward. My heart pounds, my breath hitches, and just as I step deeper into the trees, a voice—not my own—whispers in my head.

"Mine."

I freeze.

The night is no longer silent. The darkness is breathing. And I am no longer alone.
