Chapter 1 - The Reign of Chaos

Ava Sharma, owner of "Events by Ava," surveyed the disaster with a sigh that could curdle milk. Fairy lights were tangled like a Medusa's hair, a centerpiece had toppled, and a rogue bridesmaid was currently attempting to Macarena her way through a buffet table laden with miniature quiches. This was, without a doubt, the most chaotic wedding she'd ever planned – and she'd planned a wedding for a reality TV star who'd demanded a live unicorn. Ava, a master of controlled chaos, usually thrived under pressure. But tonight, the pressure felt less like a finely tuned engine and more like a runaway train hurtling towards a cliff. Her meticulously crafted schedule was in tatters, her carefully chosen vendors were panicking, and her carefully constructed composure was threatening to crumble. She was, to put it mildly, stressed. The problem wasn't the bridezilla (although the bridezilla was definitely contributing). The problem was the sheer volume of unexpected events that seemed determined to derail the entire evening. A sudden downpour had soaked the outdoor ceremony area, a caterer had called in sick, and the DJ's equipment had mysteriously malfunctioned. Ava felt a familiar pang of cynicism. This was why she avoided relationships. Relationships were chaos, just like weddings. And she preferred order. She grabbed her phone, scrolling through a list of emergency contacts, her fingers flying across the screen. She needed a miracle, a backup plan, or possibly a large bottle of tequila. In that order. Just as she was about to send a frantic text to her ever-reliable (and slightly exasperated) assistant, a voice cut through the cacophony. "Need a hand?" Ava whirled around, her eyes landing on a figure emerging from the chaos. It was Liam O'Connell, her childhood nemesis, looking infuriatingly charming in a rumpled suit. The same Liam O'Connell whose band, "The Wandering Souls," had once serenaded her with a song about her unfortunate incident with a runaway bouncy castle at her eighth birthday party. The same Liam O'Connell who, despite her best efforts, still managed to make her heart beat a little faster.Chapter 1: The Reign of Chaos Ava Sharma, owner of "Events by Ava," surveyed the disaster with a sigh that could curdle milk.
