Chapter 1 - Chapter 1: Darkness Awakens

Here's your revised and expanIn the heart of a dense, untamed forest, a young man lay motionless on the cold, damp ground. His body was sprawled out, face down against the soft earth, as if nature itself had claimed him. The thick canopy above cast dappled shadows across his still form, and the only sounds were the whispers of rustling leaves and distant calls of unseen creatures.

Then, with a sudden jolt, his body stirred. His fingers twitched, and a sharp breath escaped his lips as his head lifted slightly. His icy blue eyes flickered open, unfocused at first, before blinking rapidly as disorientation washed over him. The world around him was unfamiliar, an overwhelming expanse of towering trees and tangled underbrush. A pounding ache settled in his skull, making it difficult to think clearly.

"How the hell did I get here?" he muttered hoarsely, his voice rough as if he hadn't spoken in days. His throat was dry, and a dull pain radiated from the back of his neck. Instinctively, he reached up to rub the sore spot, confusion clouding his thoughts like a thick fog.

Slowly, he pushed himself up onto his knees, his limbs feeling sluggish and uncooperative. As he steadied himself, his senses gradually sharpened, his mind catching up to the situation. A gnawing hunger twisted in his stomach, an all-consuming emptiness that clawed at his insides. He needed to find food—but where? He was in the middle of nowhere, surrounded by an endless sea of green.

Fortunately, he wasn't entirely helpless. He had studied botany and toxicology during college, a hobby he had pursued out of curiosity rather than necessity. That knowledge, however, was now his greatest asset. Scanning his surroundings with a keen eye, he quickly assessed the plant life around him.

His name was Kaito. He had once been a normal college student, leading an ordinary life with loving parents and a promising future. But that life had ended in an instant. He had been on his way home from the library one night when a blinding flash of headlights filled his vision—then, nothing. The impact had been swift and brutal. And now, inexplicably, he was here.

The realization sent a chill down his spine. Was he dead? Or was this some kind of afterlife? Neither possibility made sense, but dwelling on it wouldn't help. Survival was his priority.

His Body wasn't his own, not anymore at that, but his memories were, he was in the body was that of a seven year old, it was weak extremely weak, but he managed.

After scouring the area for a few minutes, his search yielded no edible plants. What he did find, however, sent a shiver through him—Oleander, Foxglove, and Rhododendron, all highly toxic and capable of causing severe illness or death if consumed. Despite their dangers, Kaito didn't dismiss them entirely. Carefully, he plucked a few leaves, fashioning a makeshift pouch out of large, sturdy foliage to store them. These plants had medicinal properties when used correctly. They could be useful later.

As he stood up, frustration mounting, his foot caught on an unseen rock. The next moment, gravity took hold, and he tumbled forward, rolling down a small incline before crashing into the thick trunk of a tree. Pain flared through his back, a dull ache spreading through his muscles. He groaned, shaking off the soreness as he pushed himself upright.

Then, something moved above him.

A rustling sound drew his attention to the canopy. Before he could react, a small, dark object plummeted toward him. Reflex took over, and his hands shot out, catching it before it hit the ground.

What he held in his palm was unlike anything he had ever seen before. It was a fruit, but its appearance was unnatural. The skin was deep, almost black, with swirling, vein-like patterns that shifted and pulsed, giving it an eerie, almost hypnotic effect. It radiated an unexplainable energy, as though it were alive.

The hunger within him intensified, gnawing at his sanity. Every rational thought screamed at him to stop—to question why this fruit seemed so otherworldly. But instinct overpowered logic.

Without thinking, he sank his teeth into the fruit.

The moment it touched his tongue, a wave of revulsion crashed over him. It was the most vile, repulsive thing he had ever tasted—bitter, rancid, almost as if it were rotting from the inside out. Yet, despite the overwhelming disgust, he continued to devour it, his body acting on pure desperation.

When the last bite slid down his throat, he exhaled sharply, his face contorted in disgust. "That was horrible," he muttered, wiping his mouth with the back of his hand. The fruit had sated his hunger, but a lingering unease settled in his gut. Something felt... off.

Then, it hit him.

A sudden wave of dizziness crashed over him, his vision distorting as if the world itself was unraveling. His limbs felt heavy, his balance failing him. The last thing he saw was the forest spinning wildly around him before darkness swallowed his consciousness.

---

When he awoke, the sky was no longer bright. The sun had dipped below the horizon, leaving the forest bathed in deep twilight. The stars overhead twinkled like distant lanterns, and the night air carried a cool, salty breeze.

Kaito sat up abruptly, his heart pounding. Something was different. No—everything was different.

His vision, once strained in the darkness, was now perfect. The shadows no longer obscured details; he could see every leaf, every blade of grass, as clearly as if it were midday. His hearing, too, had sharpened. He could hear the distant crash of waves, the rustling of tiny creatures in the underbrush.

He sighed to himself, and let something flow out of him, and a wave of dark energy flows out of him and the nearby trees began decaying and withering, as suddenly as it came it disappeared, and Kaito felt lighter, and closed his eyes, and let let the same power out but this time in a physical manifestation, he Sat down cross legged and interlocked his fingers and began meditating, he knew whatever this power was it was extremely powerful and if I didn't control it it could consume him or Destroy the world, whatever one that may be, Due to his love of Anime and Manga alike he knew a lot about Cultivation and could use it to Control the darkness.

He met the basic requirements, he was in a Dark forest, Under the moon, and began feeling his Darkness and acknowledged that it was apart of him, and letting it All flow into a small compressed ball of Darkness, he tried his hardest to maintain its shape, but failed, But managed to Draw it back in before it alerted someone.

-------

Three Years Later, Kaito had been training for three years, and quickly realized that he was inside the world of One Piece, it came to him when he realized he didn't have the ability to Control and Manipulate Darkness and Shadows, not until after he ate that fruit, which at first glance he should've realized wasn't a normal one, not even a little bit, thought the Last few years he decided to walk around the village, and his assumption was confirmed and Solidified when he found himself in Cocoyasi, and met Nojiko and Nami.

Five Years Later -

Kaito was now 12, he had slowly been mastering his new apparent Devil Fruit Powers and Abilities, he used Cultivation to do so, he had been stuck in a Large Secluded part of the island, and due to his darkness he had to consume large amounts of food, and had killed the beasts inside the Forest and even tried summoning them as his shadows like Sun Jin Woo, did it work, Yes actually to his surprise, he only took the strongest, but didn't have much control over them.

Back with Kaito he had traveled father than he normally would've since he was almost out of food, there were many other things he wanted to try out in theory, but they would have to wait until he gained better control, he spread his senses to a Ten Mile radius, he jumped through trees like in Naruto and used his dark energy as a way to stick on trees and other surfaces like in the anime and Manga.

After only five minutes, he arrived just outside a village, he recognized it quite well from the Anime, Village, by the looks of it was before Arlong took took over, "So that means somewhere in the villages is Nami, Nojiko, and Bellmere"

He grinned to himself, he would soon meet one of his Favorite characters.
