Chapter 15 - Chapter 15: An Unexpected Encounter

Today is the weekend, and the heart of London is bustling with people, mostly young folks.

Victor Black and Eric Matthews first took a stroll around the Victoria Shopping Centre and each bought some things. It wasn't until the movie was about to start that the two of them entered the cinema.

The screening hall was already filled with people, chatting in groups of two or three, and the atmosphere was really lively. It has to be said that this is exactly the kind of atmosphere that is desired. If there were only a few scattered people in the screening hall, no matter how wonderful the movie was, it would seem dull. On the contrary, when there are a lot of people, even if the movie itself is just so-so, the viewing experience will be greatly enhanced.

The two squeezed through the narrow passageway and sidled through the rows of seats before finally finding their places.

London is such a big city, but today it seems incredibly small. Just as they had met Sebastian Gray earlier, now they bumped into Isabella Gray.

When the two pairs of surprised eyes met, both sides were taken aback. Then they nodded at each other as a greeting and didn't say much more.

As soon as Victor sat down, Eric leaned over eagerly with a mischievous smile on his face. "What's going on?"

"That's Alex's older sister. I just met her the other day," Victor said in a flat tone. Although he was surprised to meet Isabella here, he didn't think much of it.

"Wow, that guy Alex actually has such a beautiful older sister!" Although Eric likes to joke around, he is actually a well-mannered person. He let out an exclamation and then didn't say anything more, quietly waiting for the movie to start.

At the same time, someone also leaned over beside Isabella, with a sly smile. "Isabella, who is that handsome guy?"

The person speaking was Lily White, 24 years old, Isabella's best friend. She had a baby face with a bit of baby fat, looking innocent and childlike, as if she were a child who would never grow up.

"He's my younger brother's math teacher. I met him the other day. Okay, the movie is starting. Stop talking," Isabella knew her best friend too well. If she didn't stop the conversation in time, Lily would definitely keep asking questions non-stop.

As soon as she finished speaking, the lights in the screening hall went out, and the movie officially began.

Originally, Victor planned to go home after watching the movie, as he also needed to start preparing for his third hunt. Unfortunately, sometimes in life, no matter how well you plan, there are always unexpected events.

The four of them were sitting in the same row and next to each other. From left to right, it was Eric, Victor, Lily, and Isabella.

The movie was thrilling, and the special effects were extremely realistic. When the plot reached its climax and the protagonist finally defeated the big villain, Lily, who was fully immersed in the movie, clapped her hands in excitement.

With this clap, her left arm accidentally bumped into the drink cup on the seat, and the drink immediately splashed out. The innocent Victor didn't even have time to react when he felt a wet patch on his pants.

"Oh my god! I'm sorry, I'm sorry!" Realizing that she had caused trouble, Lily was panic-stricken and quickly stood up to apologize repeatedly.

As she stood up, the popcorn and ice cream that she hadn't finished eating in her arms also flew out and directly hit Victor. So, Victor, who originally just had a wet pair of pants, now had ice cream and popcorn all over his body.

"I'm sorry, I'm really sorry. I didn't mean it!" Lily felt even more guilty and clumsily reached out to help Victor clean up the mess on his body.

But due to the poor lighting and her clumsiness, as soon as she moved, she lost her balance and fell directly to the ground.

"Whoa! I really didn't mean it, waaaaah~" Lily actually started crying.

Twenty minutes later, at a certain barbecue restaurant.

Victor sat there quietly, looking at Isabella and Lily across from him, with a look of helplessness on his face.

Although Victor didn't really care about being messed up by Lily, Lily felt extremely guilty. She insisted on treating them to a meal as an apology and also wanted to buy Victor a new set of clothes.

There was no need to compensate for the clothes, but he couldn't refuse the meal. Plus, Eric was also joining in the fun, so Victor had to agree.

"I'm really sorry. I didn't mean it," Lily said with a look of apology on her face.

"It's okay," Victor smiled politely.

After this simple conversation, there was an awkward silence.

Isabella has a cold personality and doesn't talk much. Although Eric really wanted to find a topic, he knew his manners. Today, he was a supporting character, so he didn't want to steal the limelight.

As for Victor, he just simply didn't want to talk and just wanted to finish the meal and leave as soon as possible.

Fortunately, with Lily around, the awkwardness never lasts long.

"By the way, I heard from Isabella that you're a teacher. What do you teach?" Lily asked.

"Math," Victor replied.

"What about you?" Lily looked at Eric.

"Chemistry," Eric replied with a smile.

"Wow, you guys are so amazing! When I was at school, I couldn't understand these subjects at all..." Lily said with a look of admiration.

Just like that, the originally awkward atmosphere vanished, and the four of them gradually started chatting.

In fact, it was mainly Lily doing the talking. This girl was really special, with a soul as pure as a child's. This wasn't an act, and Victor could tell.

In fact, the main reason why Isabella became best friends with Lily was Lily's simplicity, or rather, her naivety.

"Let me tell you, when I was a kid, a priest came to our house. When he saw me, he insisted on taking me as his disciple, saying that I had an aptitude for spirituality. He also said that I was a reincarnation of an angel. Anyway, he said I was really amazing, hehehe," Lily said with a proud look on her face and a giggle.

Upon hearing this, Eric teased, "Did your family get so happy that they made a large donation to that priest?"

"Yeah, how did you know?" Lily widened her clear eyes, looking innocent.

Isabella raised her hand to rub her forehead and gave an embarrassed smile to Victor and Eric. "She's just like this, a bit silly."

"Where am I silly? This is called great wisdom. My dad said I'm a person who appears stupid but is actually wise," Lily protested.

To be honest, it's hard to feel annoyed by someone like Lily. Even Victor couldn't help but feel relaxed and became interested in the conversation.

So, he said, "It is written in the Bible that angels are pure and spotless beings, messengers of God on earth. In the Middle Ages, there were many abbeys in Europe. The nuns in those abbeys were usually regarded as incarnations of angels. They were kind, innocent, and had a soul that was never contaminated by the world. So, it's not really a lie for that priest to say that you have an aptitude for spirituality and that you were an angel in your previous life."

As soon as she heard this, Lily became even more proud and giggled happily.

The meal was really enjoyable, and even Victor felt much better. There are always some people in this world who can bring joy to those around them, regardless of age or gender.

At around six o'clock, after saying goodbye to Lily and Isabella, Victor and Eric left the restaurant.

Victor never would have imagined that this girl who was like an angel would, in the future, save his life when he was in a desperate situation.
