The next morning, the three boys were dressed in their best clothes—which meant slightly wrinkled shirts and mismatched shoes. They puffed their chests proudly, standing outside the café.
Leo held up the black business card with a serious face. "Alright, guys! It's time to call the Big Boss!"
Haru fidgeted. "W-What if he doesn't remember us?"
Riku nodded rapidly. "What if he thinks we're prank calling?!"
Leo rolled his eyes. "Ugh, relax! He gave us his number himself!"
They rushed to the public telephone booth near the street. Leo picked up the receiver, pressed the buttons carefully, and waited.
📞 Ring… Ring… Ring…
A smooth voice answered, "Renji Takahiro speaking."
Leo grinned. "Hello, sir! This is me, Leo!"
Haru leaned in, almost shoving Leo aside. "I-I'm Haru!"
Riku squeezed in too. "And I'm Riku!"
For a moment, silence.
Then, a deep sigh.
"…You all called at the same time?!" Renji asked, clearly confused.
Leo nodded excitedly, even though Renji couldn't see him. "Yes, sir! We work as a team!"
Jun's voice muffled in the background. "Boss, are those the same clumsy kittens from yesterday?"
Renji let out a small chuckle. "Yes… it seems so."
Haru clutched the phone. "S-So can we come today?!"
Renji smirked. "I already said yes yesterday. You don't need to ask again."
Riku fist-pumped. "YAAAY!"
Leo beamed. "Okay, sir! We'll come right now!"
Renji sighed again, but there was amusement in his tone. "Jun will be waiting at the front entrance. Don't get lost again."
The three boys saluted the phone (again, Renji couldn't see them).
"YES, SIR!"
Click. Call ended.
They all stared at each other.
Then—pure excitement.
"WE'RE GONNA MEET A REAL BUSINESSMAN AGAIN!"
"THIS IS SO COOL!"
"LET'S GOOOO!"
And just like that, the three clumsy waiters sprinted toward the biggest adventure of their lives. 🚀✨
