It was late at night, and the café had finally closed after another chaotic but fun-filled day. The three boys—Leo, Riku, and Haru—sat outside on the café's small wooden steps, staring up at the dark sky. The stars twinkled above them, and the warm glow from the café lights made the night feel peaceful.
Haru, the most curious one, kicked his feet lazily. "You guys saw the customers today?"
Riku stretched his arms. "Of course, we saw them, dummy. We serve them all day."
Haru shook his head. "No, no, I mean... did you see what they were wearing? Some of them had short short dresses!" His eyes widened like he had discovered a hidden treasure.
Leo, who always tried to act smart even though he never studied, nodded seriously. "Yeah, I noticed. Some wear really fancy clothes. Some wear those shiny shoes that click when they walk."
Riku rubbed his chin, pretending to think deeply. "Maybe... maybe rich people always dress like that. Or maybe they wear those clothes because they want to look cool."
Haru tilted his head. "But why wear so little? Won't they feel cold?"
The three of them sat in silence for a moment, their tiny brains struggling to find an answer.
Then, Riku gasped. "Wait! I know!" He sat up straight, looking extremely proud of himself. "Maybe... they don't feel cold because rich people have strong skin!"
Leo and Haru stared at him.
Haru blinked. "Strong skin?"
"Yeah!" Riku said confidently. "Like, maybe if you have too much money, your skin gets so strong that you don't feel cold!"
Leo crossed his arms. "Hmmm… that makes sense." He had no idea if it was true, but it sounded smart.
Haru gasped dramatically. "That means if we get rich one day… we won't feel cold either?! WAHH! I wanna be rich now!"
The three of them started imagining their future as rich people.
Leo smirked. "If I get rich, I'll wear a big coat just to show off that I can still feel cold!"
Riku laughed. "If I get rich, I'll buy a café ten times bigger than this one!"
Haru clapped his hands excitedly. "If I get rich, I'll buy a mountain of cakes and never work again!"
They all burst into laughter, enjoying their silly conversation. None of them had ever studied, and none of them really understood how the world worked. But they had each other, and in their little world, their simple thoughts and innocent dreams made life perfect.
As the cool night breeze passed by, they continued chatting about random things, their laughter filling the empty streets.
Even though they didn't know much about life, one thing was certain—they were happy.
