Chapter 2 - Chapter -2

Paper balls

Jay-jay's POV

Because I enrolled in class a little late, Sir gave me a copy of
their lessons that I missed. Luckily,
their lecture wasn't that far away.
Sir Alvin is an English teacher and he is also the adviser of Section E.
I had a pretty bad start in this class section but now
it's pretty quiet.
*Tik *Tok *Toink
I'm making up for it! I haven't been quiet yet! Is it just a ghost?
I've been throwing papers at my seat for a while now.
They're just small, round pieces of paper. When I look around to see where they came from,
the whole class is angry.
What?! What am I doing to you?!
We reached the next subject and the scene was still the same.
The papers were scattered around me.
Calm down Jay, those are just annoying you!
I focused on the lecture again, just like Sir Alvin, the
next teacher also gave me a copy of the previous lesson.
I was busy writing when I suddenly felt something hit
my hair. I touched it and immediately felt.... wet?
They threw wet paper at me. No need to ask where
the water came from. A person's mouth is the fastest and easiest water source
and the slippery one is a bit sticky.
Yack! Eeewwww!
I immediately took a tissue and alcohol from my bag. Girl scout to boy!
Our next classes ended and the scene was still the same. Damn it!
When the teacher came out, I immediately stood up and faced the entire class.
My gaze became sharp on all of them.
"WHO IS MY ROCKY BALL?!" I shouted angrily.
No one moved so I was about to speak again when suddenly everyone raised
their hands. All of them were just crumpled, rounded pieces of paper.
They were called paper balls, the round ones with the crinkles and looked like the size
of apples.
They were all staring at me. Dead!
I saw Keifer smirking. He stood up and formed himself like
a baseball.
My eyes widened at his appearance. What did you get into Jay-jay?
I just swallowed and closed my eyes when I saw him throw the paper
ball at me. After it hit my face,
I felt the paper balls one after another.
"Aarrrggghhhh..." Screaming.
It wasn't painful but I couldn't relax and move because of the
number. Along with their throwing, there was laughter.
"Okay.. hahaha"
"There are more here.."
"Hahaha..."
All I know is that there are only more than 15 of them but why does it feel like there are more than 100
throwing them at me.
"Aarrgghhhhh... What is it?!" I shouted at them but
of course it was no use.
I couldn't do anything but pick up my bag and quickly run
out of the room.
They kept throwing stones at me all the way to the door but they stopped when I was
completely out.
I didn't stop running until I was far from
the building itself.
They were so mean to me! I wish I hadn't answered that Keifer.
It was lunch time so I thought of going straight to the cafeteria to
have lunch. I went inside and got in line.
I was busy looking around while waiting in line when I heard a
familiar voice.
"That's really funny.. Hahaha.." Rakki and his classmates said.
I immediately turned my back on them.
Why is this line so long?!
"Hey Rakki..." I heard someone call him. I'm not a
gossip but I couldn't help but listen.
"Whatsup Mykel?" Rakki greeted.
"I heard you met the transferee.. What do you have to say?"
I think it's me? They're talking about me.
"Uhmmm.. She's pretty and a little noob."
Will I be happy? I was praised and insulted at the same time. What is that?
Why is this line so slow?
"Hahaha.. What do you mean?"
"She went to our section instead of the Section E room."
Suddenly they all laughed and so did Rakki's classmates. It's embarrassing!
"That must be embarrassing.."
You said it! The line moved forward and I reached the saleswoman.
I bought two meals and I knew I would be in trouble.
I also bought a large Piattos, Nova and Cheappy.
I just ordered takeout because I didn't plan on showing myself in
Section C. It's so embarrassing!
I got what I bought and quickly walked towards the
cafeteria door but I stopped when I met Aries. My cousin.
His eyebrows immediately crossed when he saw me. I couldn't move
from my place. I was so angry!
"Hey Aries! Here!" Rakki shouted.
But he didn't move either and neither did I.
I felt someone approaching us until...
"Jay-Jay? You're here.." Rakki greeted me. "...Guys, the
transferee is here."
Rakki put her arm around me and brought me in front of the people in the cafeteria. It was too late for
me to resist.
"She's Jay-jay... The one I was talking about earlier." Rakki introduced me.
I just bowed. I didn't know who I should be ashamed of. The
people here or Aries.
Aries ran away from them when he found out I was going to live with them.
Our relationship wasn't good because of what I did before.
"So Jay-jay... How's your experience with Section E?"
A man asked. He must have been Mykel.
I couldn't answer. I didn't want to tell them that the entire Section E had already tripped me.
And Section E might also think I was reporting.
"It's okay... They're S-so nice to me." I answered while forcing a smile.
"I think that's a lie. Section E are all barbaric. They have records
inside and outside of school." said Rakki.
My forehead wrinkled when I heard that. Barbaric is terrible.
The former is just a monster.
"No need to worry... Jay will fit well on that Section." Aries said.
I looked at him. I didn't know what he meant
by that.
I knew that I would only be embarrassed here a few more times. I
slowly removed Rakki's arm from me.
"R-rakki... I have to go. I'm sorry."
I didn't wait for their answer. I immediately left the cafeteria. I don't know
if the atmosphere there was so strange.
I was also ashamed of Aries.
I used to fight at our old school. We were a broken family so
I rebelled. Grandma took me in to take care of her and risked
that my life would be good for her but
that didn't have any effect.
Until Grandma had a heart attack because of my fighting.
My aunts were angry with me, except for Aunt Gema----Aries' mother. She was the only one
who made me feel that it wasn't all my fault.
Because I was embarrassed by grandma, I told her I was leaving.
Aunt Gema took me because they didn't have a daughter.
I agreed and promised Grandma and the others that I would sort out
my life and myself.
When I got to them, I thought everything would be okay, but
Aries got angry when she saw me. She said if I didn't leave, she would just leave.
Aunt didn't do anything, so Aries left and we met here.
It was so hard for Aunt Gema. I could feel it and she didn't have to
tell me. If only Aries knew that I had changed.
I arrived at the Section E building without realizing it. Wait!
I can't go in there yet. I'm sure they'll trip me and
I won't be able to eat properly.
I looked around. I thought about getting a table and bench that were
still a bit sane in my eyes and I sat down there to eat.
I opened the first meal I bought.
I also put a handkerchief on my blouse. I might spill the food,
it's hard. Our uniform is
a simple blouse with a black necktie and a skirt two inches above the knee
. The necktie indicates which year we are in.
It has a white stripe. Since we are fourth year, there are four stripes.
I finished the first meal and was about to open the second when
someone snatched it. Flash quickly, but he was faster.
"This is mine!" I shouted when he snatched my meal. I'm sure
he was my classmate.
I didn't do anything. Our other classmates also approached
him and were fighting like hungry people.
I saw Keifer leaning against the wall. He was just staring at
our classmates fighting.
"Give me some!"
"Let's beg!"
"This is mine!"
Really hungry people. Didn't they have lunch?
"Please be patient, they're just hungry." someone said.
I looked at the person who was now next to me. Is it
just a fluke? It's the one I talked to earlier. The one with Keifer. His hair
is brown . "I'm Felix..." he introduced himself and held out his hand. But I ignored him. What luck is he? After
they misled me earlier. It's hard! I just took the big Piattos from my bag. I was about to open it when someone
suddenly grabbed it. "Hey, Aba!" I shouted. The thief was gone. Our dead, hungry classmates were already in
the middle of it. Where are they? What are these my classmates? Vultures? They're even better at snatching
food than eagles. "Hahaha... Don't bring out the food." Felix said. I looked at him irritably. "Who are your
classmates? Just dead guts?" He laughed at what I said. "Hahaha.. A little." I feel like all my food has been
drained from the annoyance of my classmates. They just spread the food on the floor and covered it. Just
hungry?
