Chapter 1 - Prologue

Notice: This is my first fanfic, so don't expect an amazing story. I guess I'll learn as I go. I chose Relife Player as the base because, well, it's my favorite Korean novel. It may not be the deepest, but I really liked it. This story is being translated into English with AI since my first language is Spanish and my second is Portuguese. Since neither is widely spoken on this site, I translated the story into English in case there are any discrepancies in the text. You know the drill. Enjoy!

In a completely white room, devoid of anything except a small coffee table with tea and snacks, a young man in his early twenties sits across from an elderly man who looks like he walked straight out of a wuxia novel—perhaps even one step away from courting death.

Yes, that's me. You're probably wondering how I ended up in this situation. Well, my name is Yoo Seha. And this is what happened.

{Flashback No Jutsu}

In a small apartment complex, a young man sits at his desk, studying. This is Yoo Seha, currently preparing for his final exam to graduate in medicine from Korea's National University.

"Ha... finally done studying," he muttered, glancing at the scattered notes on his desk. "Not that I really needed to, but graduating as the top of my class wouldn't hurt."

With his photographic memory and already stellar grades, he could skip the final exam and still graduate. But a little extra effort never hurt anyone.

As he got up, he moved over to his computer, browsing through Novelpia and Naver in search of a new novel he hadn't yet had the pleasure—or displeasure—of reading. He had gone through quite a few, including Relife Player, Childhood Friend of the Zenith, How to Survive at the Academy, I Killed the Academy Player, and more.

Eventually, he stumbled upon a gaiden (side story) of Relife Player. Apparently, the protagonist's son had traveled from the future to prevent a disaster involving certain gods, and it also detailed the birth of Noh Eunha's fifth daughter.

"Alright, let's finish these chapters before bed." And thus began his final binge-reading session of the novel.

Hours Later…

"Finally, it's over... but damn, that was bittersweet." Checking his watch—1:54 AM. "It's past midnight. I should sleep."

As he made his way to bed, he thought: After more than two years, the story is finally finished. It left me wanting more, but the open ending wasn't bad... Still, I would've liked them to explore the international aspects of the world more. What a shame.

Slipping into bed, he drifted into sleep, dreaming of what the global landscape of the story could have been.

Hours Later…

We see the same young man sprinting down the street. "Shit, shit, shit! Of all days to oversleep, why today?! The irony!" Spotting his university up ahead, he couldn't help but smile. Finally! After this exam, I'll officially become a doctor and start working.

But fate had other plans.

Unbeknownst to him, a truck was speeding his way. By the time he noticed, it was too late.

Headlights.

Then, nothing.

"And that's how I ended up in this situation... Ugh, on the last day, just when I was about to graduate, you couldn't have killed me before I started university?"

Finally, the elderly man in front of him spoke.

"There's no point in delaying it. You're dead. And I regret to say... it was my mistake. I was sending my colleague to pick someone else up, but I got the wrong person."

"How often does that happen?" Seha asked, taking a sip of tea—far calmer than any normal person would be in this situation.

"Never. This is the first time," the old man admitted.

"I must say, you're handling this far better than expected. I thought you'd start cursing me the moment you found out. Are you in shock?"

"Honestly? If I'm dead, there's no point in getting mad. What's done is done. Besides, it's not like I had anyone waiting for me. I'm an orphan. No partner. Barely had friends. I only got into university on scholarships." He let out a sigh. "Still, it's annoying. All that effort... and for what?"

"So... is this where I go to heaven or something?" Seha asked.

"No. I'm bringing you back to life. You were meant for great things, and because of my mistake, all of that was cut short." The old man explained, "I am what you mortals call a god... or, as some say, ROB (Random Omnipotent Being)."

"Seriously? So where are you sending me?" Seha asked, now genuinely intrigued.

"Well, you seem to be a big fan of light novels, so that's probably the best choice for someone like you. And since I ruined your life, I'll grant you something to ensure you don't return here anytime soon. The question is... which novel to send you to?"

With a snap of his fingers, four large wheels appeared behind him, each labeled differently.

"These four wheels will determine your new world, your role, your power, and your starting item. The first will decide which world you'll enter. Just a heads-up—the world you're going to is real. Don't assume you're the protagonist, nor that you're superior to others. While you may have some initial knowledge, it will become useless after your first intervention. Use it as a reference, not as an absolute advantage."

"The second wheel determines your background. The third selects your power. And the fourth grants you an item," the old man continued. "Any questions?"

"Yeah... why does only the first wheel have visible options?" Seha asked.

"Good eye. To put it simply, the other three wheels are dependent on the world you end up in. I can't give you the Sharingan or Dragon Slayer Magic in a world where they don't exist. It would break the balance and put you in unnecessary danger."

"However, you can recreate abilities you've seen before using the system of the world you're in. For example, if you reincarnate into a world with magic, you might be able to replicate Chidori—but it would have to be through that world's magic system, not chakra."

"Got it. So what are we waiting for? Spin the wheels!" Seha exclaimed excitedly.

"Well... that's the thing," the old man said awkwardly.

"What? Why?" Seha asked, his excitement starting to fade.

"It's part of the rules. I can't tell you the details. You'll have to figure things out on your own," the old man said. "But I can promise three things: First, you won't regain your memories until you're five years old. Second, you'll have protection until then, meaning you won't die prematurely. And third, your powers and item will remain sealed until your memories return. We wouldn't want a baby wielding dangerous abilities, now would we?"

"Alright… I just hope I get something useful," Seha muttered.

"Now, it's time for you to go," the old man said, extending his hand. "I hope you live without regrets. But no offense—I don't want to see you back here anytime soon."

Grabbing his hand, Seha smirked. "Thanks for everything."

As his consciousness faded, he heard the old man's final words.

"Remember—your fate is yours to change."

{POV: ROB}

After the boy disappeared, ROB couldn't help but lament his mistake.

"To think that the one who would have discovered the cure for cancer was killed by accident… This must be bad luck. Sigh… Oh well, humanity will survive somehow." He muttered, trying to shake off some of the guilt.

"Now, the last thing I need to do before returning to my duties is to spin that kid's wheels. Let's see what he gets. System, proceed with spinning the WORLD wheel."

[Proceeding with the sequence established by High-Ranking Individual ROB...]

[Spinning… PiP]

[Selected World: Relife Player (AU)]

"Hmm… Relife Player. I don't know if that's lucky or not. Well, it doesn't matter. Proceed with the next three wheels in succession—I want to get some rest." Said the old man, sounding somewhat tired.

[Proceeding with the sequence established by High-Ranking Individual ROB...]

[Spinning… PiP]

[Reincarnation: Son of a high-ranking individual of the Sirius Group]

[Granted Power: Elemental Gift... Selecting element... Selected element: Suwha (Water)]

[Granted Item: Phantom Beast Egg (Leviathan)]

"Ha... not bad luck at all. Well, it could've been better, but let's not be greedy. Good luck, kid—you're going to need it." The old man said, as if he could already foresee the boy's future.
