Chapter 12 - Chapter 12

"There is a certain probability of obtaining a Byakugan Bloodline Limit Card by killing a member of the Hyuga Clan!"

The Card Emperor Spirit gave a definite answer.

Haruto Saito slowly clenched his fists, then released them just as slowly. He needed to calm down. He wasn't the type to kill without reason. But there was still one more question he wanted to ask.

"What about the Uchiha Clan?"

"The Uchiha Clan does not have any special exceptions. If the host kills an Uchiha ninja who harbors hostility toward the host, and that ninja has already awakened the Sharingan, there is a probability that a Sharingan Bloodline Limit Card will drop."

"Got it—"

Haruto had asked purely out of curiosity. To be honest, he considered the Sharingan to be superior to the Byakugan, at least in terms of practicality.

Unlike the Byakugan, the Sharingan could evolve—from One Tomoe to Two Tomoe, then to Three Tomoe, and finally to the Mangekyō Sharingan, with the potential to reach the Eternal Mangekyō Sharingan.

In the original Naruto storyline, the Sharingan was one of the most prominently featured Bloodline Limits.

However, Haruto had no conflicts with the Uchiha Clan. He had only been in this world for one day and hadn't even interacted with an Uchiha yet. He certainly wasn't about to go looking for trouble.

This was just a hypothetical question.

"Can I exchange for anything with Reputation Points, as long as it appears in the refresh list?"

"Yes!"

"Alright!" Haruto responded with a hum, then suddenly turned his head.

Back toward the alley he had just passed through—where a familiar masked figure had appeared.

At some point, Shenhe had arrived, walking toward him.

Haruto immediately understood why Hyuga Renji had left so quickly and given up on the attack.

Because he had seen the ANBU approaching.

From a normal perspective, it would have been impossible for Renji to notice them so soon.

But with the Byakugan's ability to see through obstacles, he must have spotted them approaching from a distance.

"Where did you get that kunai?" Shenhe stopped two steps away, noticing the black kunai in Haruto's hand.

"Someone tried to kill me!" Haruto raised his hand and pointed. "Just now, a Hyuga Clan ninja tried to take me out with a kunai. But I caught it. Then, he must have seen you coming—because he immediately left."

"The Hyuga Clan?" Shenhe narrowed his eyes slightly. "Are you sure?"

"Of course, I'm sure!"

"Do you have any proof?"

"Well… I mean… no. But this kunai counts, right?"

"It's a standard Konoha-issued kunai. It doesn't count."

"So?" Haruto raised an eyebrow. "That's it? We're just letting this go?"

Shenhe's reaction was strange.

Haruto couldn't see his expression behind the mask, but the eyes visible through the holes seemed frustrated.

However—that was all.

There was no anger, no intention to chase after Hyuga Renji.

"I'll report this to the Captain. He will decide how to handle the Hyuga Clan," Shenhe replied.

"Alright…" Haruto muttered under his breath.

He could tell—when it came to the Hyuga Clan, Shenhe had no real authority to do anything.

Perhaps… because ANBU had already anticipated that the Hyuga Clan might target Haruto.

But even then, their attitude was far too passive.

"You are free to move around. There will be people watching over you from the shadows. But be careful," Shenhe added.

Then, with a single hand seal, he vanished.

Exploring Konoha

Haruto lifted his head and glanced around.

He saw no one.

But Shenhe's words had reassured him.

No matter how bold the Hyuga Clan was, they wouldn't dare attack him openly with ANBU watching… right?

Haruto spent the next hour exploring Konoha.

He needed to buy supplies—but more importantly, he needed to memorize the layout of the village.

He had already been ambushed twice on his first day out.

If he had to run for his life in the future, it was better to know the terrain.

A Hidden Gambling Den

After some time, Haruto entered a backstreet alley.

This was a secluded, out-of-the-way place—yet there were still vendors near the entrance, selling snacks like fish balls, sushi, and grilled fish.

The prices, however, were expensive.

Haruto glanced at them, then walked deeper into the alley.

And after just a few steps, he understood why this place was different.

Because—there was a gambling den here.

At the corner of the alley, there was a small entrance covered by a curtain.

A large kanji for 'Gamble' was painted on the door.

The vendors outside?

They were selling overpriced food to gamblers.

From inside, faint shouts and laughter could be heard.

"Hahaha! I'm going to clean her out today!"

"We're gonna be rich! She just finished a mission and got a huge payout!"

"What's taking her so long?"

"Relax. She already agreed to come."

Haruto hesitated for a moment—then stepped inside.

To be honest, he didn't enjoy gambling.

As a world-class magician, his card skills were so absurdly advanced that he could never lose.

Poker, blackjack, mahjong—anything involving cards, he was unbeatable.

That's why he found gambling boring.

But right now? He was broke.

And that meant he needed money.

Meeting the 'Legendary Sucker'

Lifting the curtain, Haruto entered a tatami-matted room.

Five men sat around a white cloth-covered table with a stack of playing cards.

They seemed to be waiting for someone.

When Haruto entered, a rough-looking middle-aged man frowned and eyed him up and down.

"What do you want?"

Haruto immediately saw his information.

Name: Ito

Affiliation: Owner of this gambling den

"Uh… this is a casino, right? I came to…" Haruto pulled out his money pouch and shook it.

Ito examined Haruto again.

If Haruto had been a normal 11-year-old, he would've been kicked out instantly.

But he was wearing a Konoha ninja uniform.

Ito glanced at the other gamblers, then finally nodded.

"Alright, you can play. But we're waiting for someone first."

"Got it."

Haruto removed his sandals, sat cross-legged on the tatami, and made himself comfortable.

The men continued chatting excitedly—frequently mentioning phrases like "clean her out" and "big spender."

The more Haruto listened, the more something felt off.

As someone familiar with the original Naruto story…

He had a bad feeling about who they were talking about.

"Hey, can I ask something? Who exactly is this 'big spender' you guys keep mentioning?"

The men paused.

Ito grinned, revealing crooked teeth.

He slapped Haruto on the shoulder and laughed.

"Kid! You've got great timing! You're about to hit the jackpot!"

"Uh… I just want to know who she is?"

"Hah! Since you're a ninja, you must know her!"

"She is—"

"Me."

The curtain slammed open.

A young woman in a teal-green ninja outfit strode inside, her face dark and unreadable.

Blonde hair.

Striking beauty.

Shorter than average—but with a commanding presence.

Haruto saw her information.

Name: Tsunade

Affiliation: S-Rank Independent Ninja of Konoha

 Title: "The Legendary Sucker"

 Relationship: Neutral

Haruto froze.

Oh, crap.
