Leo sat on the bed, deep in thought, contemplating his future.
In this life, unlike his past one, he had parents. But they were former military officers, veterans of countless battles.
When Leo was 15, a war broke out on the 45th floor of the Tower—a world ruled by humans from Azure Star. The inhabitants of that floor had formed an alliance, desperately fighting against the Zurg race, a monstrous insectoid species. The situation was dire, so the government issued a summons: every ex-military officer who could fight was called to the frontlines.
Leo hadn't seen his parents since.
All he knew was that they were still alive. But how they were faring, whether they were safe, injured, or on the verge of death… he had no idea.
The only connection he had to them was the money he received every month from the government—a financial support system for soldiers' families.
But money wasn't what he wanted. He wanted to see them.
And there was only one way to do that—climbing the Tower.
To enter the Tower, one needed to awaken a class—a moment that determined the course of their entire life.
Would you become a hero, slaying monsters and forging your legend?
Or would you be a normal civilian, someone who didn't even have the right to control their own fate?
Classes were divided into two categories:
1. Combat Classes – Warriors, Mages, Assassins—those who fought on the battlefield.
2. Life Skill Classes – Blacksmiths, Farmers, Tailors—those who supported society but couldn't stand against monsters alone.
A combat class meant the right to enter the Tower, to grow stronger. Even some life skill classes, like Healers, were valuable enough to be recruited into exploration parties.
But a useless life skill class?
Take Farmers, for example. They could gain EXP through farming or by killing monsters. But their skills—things like reducing harvest time or increasing crop yield—had no combat value.
You can't kill a dragon with a hoe, right?
Leo clenched his fists. His fate would be decided tomorrow.
At the age of 18, every person underwent Awakening, a process overseen by the Tower System.
And tomorrow was his turn.
