I felt really strange, kind of sick in the head. I woke up. I felt really confused as I looked at the clear blue sky on my back.
I sat up and the first thing I noticed was that I was in a field of grass. The grass beneath me pricked me, making me stand up.
I looked down at myself and realized I was naked. I wasn't in my bed. I thought for a moment and grabbed my chin in frustration. What was a bed, I wondered, and why was I supposed to be in it? I wondered how I ended up here.
An even better question.
Who am I???
So many unanswered questions were swirling around in my head that my head started to hurt.
I tried to think about myself but I couldn't come to a conclusion. I had no name or memories but I knew how things generally worked.
I tried to think again but it didn't work.
I didn't feel any anxiety or fear even though I should have.
Why was I even here? I didn't know why, but knew wasn't where he should be.
I looked around and saw only a grassy meadow. My gaze turned to the west and there was a dense forest that, if I could guess, led to the river.
I looked at my body and saw that I was in good physical condition. My muscle mass was at a decent level. My skin was slightly olive, but healthy, you could tell. My hair was blond and cut short.
The grass I was lying on was quite overgrown. This suggested that there were no herbivores here. If that was true, it meant that there were potential predators nearby, but I didn't feel any fear about it.
My mind was full of thousands of words whose meanings I couldn't remember. I stopped thinking about so many concepts because it was confusing enough.
I felt good even though I was naked. On the other hand, I didn't know what being naked really meant or what clothes were and what they were for. I felt like I was in my natural state and just shook my head in acknowledgement of my situation.
I turned in the other direction and thought about what to do next. I thought for a moment and with a sense of recognition I turned to the east because I felt that I was already on the west side.
I took a few steps forward, rather awkwardly, but after a few steps I corrected my movement. My bare feet were treading on the overgrown grass, I felt nothing as I cautiously stepped out of the thick grass. I went out and looked towards the horizon, seeing something at the very end.
I moved closer to get a better look. It was a trail of faint smoke rising into the sky.
I could assume that it was just a campfire, but I didn't know anything else. I continued to march and realized that the soles of my feet had become hard from walking. I moved completely silently, like a predator.
As I approached the source of the smoke, it became much clearer to me where it was and I was able to follow it to its source.
I walked for a few more minutes until it reached what looked like a cave. I didn't know exactly what was in front of me, but I realized it was some kind of cave.
I moved closer until I felt something watching me. Soon another human being emerged from the cave. It was a man like me, although I noticed that the man was shorter than me, but armed with something that could be an axe. The axe was made of ordinary sharpened stone. The man was bearded and hairy, dressed in animal fur, and looked at me with anger radiating from him as he gripped the axe.
"Hello" I greeted, trying to calm the situation and continued "I'm lost here and I don't know who I am. I come in peace".
At the sound of my voice, the shaggy one just roared, pointing the axe at me and charging, roaring furiously.
In a few short moments I found myself on the ground as the creature lunged at me. With one hand he grabbed my neck and started squeezing while with the other he prepared to smash my head in with a swing of his axe.
I should have felt scared but I just felt the adrenaline in my veins starting to do its job. I wasn't sure if it would be enough but I tried to pull myself out of his grip but I couldn't.
I quickly focused on the options that were in front of me because I still had a few moments before he would try to kill me.
I looked and decided. I channeled all my strength into one blow, sending my left leg flying towards the creature's genitals. The creature howled in pain, loosening its grip on my neck.
With my left hand I gripped the hand on my neck, freeing myself in the process. Before the creature could react I sent my strongest punch towards its face.
My unexpected punch knocked him out and sent him flying straight towards the ground. Blood started coming out of his nose, but before he could react, I reached for his ax that was lying on the ground. Her primitive design did not stop me from my plan.
I jumped towards him with a preconceived plan.
Kick!
The first blow knocked him out even more.
Kick!
My second blow completely broke his nose, leaving a bloody mess where he should have been standing. But I didn't mind it. The excitement was pounding through my veins so I kept on kicking without stopping.
Kick!
Kick!
Kick!
Kick!
Kick!
I stopped as I felt my strength weaken. I was covered in blood, but at least my face was intact. I turned to the dry grass and began to rub myself against the ground, hoping the blood would wash off my skin. When, after a few minutes, I was satisfied with my work, I stood up and turned to my lifeless opponent, as I began to think about the consequences of my actions. I know he tried to kill me and that I defended myself, but deep down I felt that I had gone too far. But I felt nothing about what I had done. No sadness, no fear, not the slightest trace of worry or horror.
Nothing weighed on me as I stared at the lifeless corpse before me. There was nothing left of his face that could be recognized as human. His skull had been shattered, revealing his brain, his eyes had fallen out of their sockets, and his ears were gone. There was nothing left of his jaw, while his teeth lay around his body. Blood flowed around the body in streams, making what I had done even more grotesque to behold.
I should have screamed in shock, but I felt nothing. I stared at my handiwork in confusion for a few moments before the sound of footsteps coming from the cave brought me out of my thoughts.
Someone else was inside and must have seen what I had done.
It took me a few moments to decide what to do. I took a few steps closer to the cave entrance.
I could sense what the person inside would be thinking after witnessing what I had done. They would be scared and maybe try to attack me. I couldn't blame them.
"I have no ill intentions towards you. I killed him because he attacked me," I shouted, hoping that whoever was inside had no intention of fighting me, because I had no intention of killing ever again.
I stopped and waited for an answer. There was silence for a while, and then I saw three silhouettes appear out of the darkness. I recognized their shapes as feminine, the opposite of masculine.
