Revena opened her eyes, breathing heavily. Her body was covered in sweat, and the sound of her heartbeat rang in her ears.
Sitting up, she turned on the bedside lamp.
"The same dream" Penelope, who was sleeping beside her, woke up.
"Mmm, but this time, it felt more real and different", she gulped.
Penelope sat up, rubbing her friend's back.
"How different ?" She yawned.
"He ...he kissed me ", her fingers traced her lips, "and his name. I know his name now ".
"Are you sure you're not having a wet dream? Now he's kissing you in your dreams ", said Penelope.
Revena breathed, closing her eyes as she tried to recollect, but it was gone; the rest of it had disappeared the moment her eyes opened.
"You need to let it go, Vena, it's been two weeks now ", said her friend.
She nodded, licking her lips, "You're right; I am sorry . Maybe it was all my imagination or a stupid dream I had while unconscious", she said, getting up.
Penelope watched her head to the bathroom.
The cold water hit her face, scaring away the little sleep she had. Two weeks after her accident, she woke up in the hospital after a month of being in a coma.
They told her a couple had called for help when they noticed her car off the road as they drove off.
And after a while, she loved it until the dreams started coming.
First, it was just his voice, whispering something she couldn't understand, then his face and, with time, fragments of the accidents returned.
She had told her friends and doctors about it, but no one believed her. It sounded more like a dream than being real.
She had given up until when she finally realized the bruise on her neck matched exactly the bite mark she had in her dream.
When they asked his name, she couldn't remember anything about the place she had been taken to. but recently, they had started to come back.
And now she remembered kissing him, then her blood on his lips , the hint of red in his eyes and his fangs .....
She frowned for the rest was blank. She wasn't sure anymore what was going on in her head.
"Why..why can't I remember" she cried out.
Was it all just a dream? It felt so real that she couldn't possibly push it away. And the bite on her neck, how could she explain that?
"Kallias .." she murmured to herself.
