Chapter 5 - 05 Is he the Future of Manchester United?

There is hardly more than a month remaining before Sir Alex Ferguson retires.

Connie, the longtime administrator of Carrington, stood near the entrance, hands in his coat pockets, watching the gloomy Manchester sky.

The morning chill was biting, but inside the training grounds, things were already in full swing—the hum of activity filling the air.

Thor, the security guard, leaned against the gate, sipping a steaming cup of tea.

"Another busy day, eh, Connie?" Thor said with a chuckle, eyeing the flood of players, coaches, and staff arriving for the day's work.

Connie nodded. He had seen generations of players walk through these gates. From the Class of '92 to the modern-day stars, he had witnessed the club's evolution up close.

But today felt... different.

"Good morning, everything is fine today."

"Just in April this year, we are about to win the league championship, it is exciting to think about it."

"But we were eliminated too early in the Champions League, it is a bit regrettable."

With Sir Alex Ferguson's retirement looming, there was an unspeakable tension in the air—an unspoken awareness that change was coming.

And in the midst of it all, one man would soon find himself at the center of it — Tiger King.

"Good morning, Connie and Thor, I'm so glad to see you."

The two men turned around, surprised by the familiar yet oddly cheerful voice. Standing before them was none other than Tiger King.

Dressed in a Manchester United tracksuit, he looked as if he had just walked out of a dream—his blonde hair slightly messy from the morning breeze, but his face carrying an unmistakable warmth.

"Good morning, Tiger," Connie greeted, raising an eyebrow. "You're in an awfully good mood today."

Thor chuckled, taking another sip of his tea. "Yeah, you don't usually sound this... excited to see us."

Tiger King smiled. He was still adjusting to this new reality, but he knew one thing—building relationships was key.

These two men had been at Carrington for years. They knew the club inside and out.

"I'm just appreciating the little things today," Tiger King replied casually. "And seeing you two is a good start."

Connie scoffed, shaking his head. "You once again came early today"

Tiger laughed. "Yeah, if I came later than the boys of the youth team, how can I set an example for them?"

As he walked past them into the training complex, he took a deep breath.

Today was a new beginning.

Once Tiger was out of hearing range, Thor turned to Connie and asked "Connie, have you noticed any change in Mr. Tiger's temperament during this time?"

Connie sighed, his gaze lingering on Tiger King's back as he disappeared into the training facility.

"Aye," he muttered. "That lad's been through a lot."

Thor took another sip of his tea, his expression thoughtful. "Losing his parents so young, fighting his way through the academy, carrying the weight of expectations and finally the injury that stopped his career... it's a wonder he didn't break."

Connie nodded. Tiger had always worn a smile, but there had been something heavy in his eyes—an unshakable shadow.

But now?

"He's different," Connie said. "Lighter. Like he's finally let go of something."

Thor exhaled, watching the grey Manchester sky. "Maybe it's just time. Or maybe... he's finally found a reason to move forward."

Whatever it was, one thing was certain—this Tiger King was not the same man they had always known.

Connie sighed as he recalled the past.

A 19-year-old Tiger King stood at the edge of the pitch, hands on his knees, gasping for breath after an intense training session. His blonde hair stuck to his forehead, drenched in sweat.

Across the field, a booming voice echoed:

"Again! One more lap, lads!"

It was Sir Alex Ferguson, his sharp eyes scanning the young players of the Class of '92—Beckham, Scholes, Giggs, Neville, Butt… and the captain Tiger King.

Tiger wiped his brow and straightened up. Not only was he the most talented player, but he was the hardest worker.

Connie, who had been a kit manager back then, remembered how the young lad never gave up. He remembered the late nights when Tiger would stay back, practicing long after the others had left.

And he also remembered the heartbreak.

Despite being captain of the legendary Class of '92, Tiger never got his big break in the first team.

A cruel injury just as he was on the verge of promotion had shattered his dreams.

While his teammates went on to win titles and become legends, Tiger was forced to the sidelines—a forgotten name in Manchester United history.

Yet, he never left.

Instead of giving up, he rebuilt himself—first as a youth coach, then rising through the ranks of the club's staff.

Now, two decades later, Tiger King was walking into Carrington not as a player, but as the future of Manchester United.

Connie exhaled and muttered under his breath, watching the man who had once been that determined boy.

"Maybe... fate is giving him a second chance."

"Maybe… just maybe, his time has finally come." Connie thought to himself as he watched Tiger King disappear into Carrington.

And now, with Sir Alex Ferguson's retirement imminent, a new chapter was about to unfold.

As Connie and Thor were swept with nostalgic memories of the past of the famous Class of '92, what they didn't realize was their words were heard by someone behind them, it was none other than Sir Alex Ferguson, who had come to look at the rookies training and see if any were worth promoting for a match or two.
