Chapter 2 - Chapter 2:Understanding

"Huh, is that me?" Caled muttered, his voice barely a whisper. "How is this possible?" He was in shock, his mind reeling. "So, this must be my cradle…" he thought, trying to make sense of his surroundings.

Looking around to his right, he saw a table stacked with books—his books—and a small chair beside it. The window was there too, but the light pouring through made it impossible to see anything outside. To his left, a wooden door stood, with drawers placed on top. A flowerpot rested atop the drawers, its contents a blur in the overwhelming light.

Caled's gaze drifted down to the floor, where a collection of toys lay scattered: a wooden horse, dolls, and a toy sword. He lay back, staring at the ceiling. "Am I dreaming, or is this real?" he wondered, confusion swirling in his mind.

Just then, he heard the sound of footsteps approaching. His attention snapped to the door. Two figures appeared—one was a woman with black hair and blue eyes, the other a man with brown hair and red eyes.

"Are these my parents?" Caled thought, studying them. "They look like a young couple…"

The woman gently picked him up, her voice soft. "You must've had a good sleep, if you're so wide awake, my little Elyon."

The man smiled warmly. "He really has your face, doesn't he, Lenea?"

Lenea chuckled. "Oh, Richard, he has your eyes too."

Richard laughed, his voice full of warmth. "He really shares our traits."

Caled's heart skipped a beat. "Elyon? Is that my name? And Lenea and Richard… these must be my parents."

Lenea carefully carried Elyon out of the room, with Richard following close behind. As they moved through the house, Elyon's mind raced with thoughts. "I finally get to see the house…"

The interior was simple, made of wood, like any common house. There was a kitchen, bedrooms—including his own—and a dining room. As they passed through, Elyon noticed that Lenea was heading toward the door.

When she opened it, a rush of bright light flooded the space. Elyon squinted, struggling to open his eyes. With a great effort, he finally managed to fully open them. What he saw took his breath away: the outside world was nothing like he had ever imagined—a bustling wilderness filled with strange creatures.

His gaze fixed on a creature that looked like a horse, but its hair was on fire. To his amazement, the fiery creature stood still, unfazed by the flames.

Richard stood beside Lenea, smiling at Elyon with a gentle expression. Elyon looked up and saw his mother's kind smile.

"Welcome to your new home, Eryndor, little one," she said softly, her voice full of love.
