Chapter 3 - Loguetown .

The smell inside the barrel was so bad, after several days of seasickness Luff had vomited so many times that it was unbearable anymore.

He was already starting to regret his stupidity, who would think of going into the sea in a wooden barrel, now that he had eaten a Devil Fruit swimming was no longer an option to get out of his hole.

"Damn how could I be so stupid, I wanted to imitate Luffy but I only imitated his stupidity, damn it" Luff cursed before vomiting again.

But after a while, he could hear some voices from afar .

"Come on pull, maybe we can find a treasure inside" one of the voices said.

"What do we do if we find a treasure inside, do we hand it over to the captain?" the other voice said.

"No you idiot, we'll keep it to ourselves, most of these floating barrels fell from a wrecked ship and there was nothing in them except some food or water, I heard that someone on the other ship found a barrel like this and found many jewels inside, after that his life became easy, he went back to his village and built a big house and married the most beautiful girl in the village"

"That would be so wonderful"

"So stop talking and pull quickly"

Luff listened carefully and felt the sound getting closer and closer, the barrel was shaking lightly in the water as it was being pulled towards the two voices.

Within seconds, Luff felt the barrel hit a solid object, guessing it was the ship's hull, the barrel was slowly lifted to the deck and was quickly secured completely.

As soon as Luff felt that he was on board the ship, he broke the wooden barrel and escaped outside, he could no longer bear the smell of vomit.

With a loud bang, the wooden barrel was smashed into pieces and Luff came out of it, he was greeted by two faces drawn with surprise and disgust.

"I'm finally free from that disgusting smell, I swear I will never do this again!" Luff shouted as he ran onto the deck.

"Hey, what are you doing? Where is the treasure?" Someone shouted at Luff.

Luff looked at him, he was one of the people who pulled the barrel out of the sea, his skin was red and sunburned, a common trait among sailors.

"What treasure? I didn't see any treasure inside the barrel even though I was inside for several days," Luff replied to his question.

"No treasure? Then what were you doing inside the barrel?" The other person replied.

"Well my ship was wrecked at sea several days ago but I managed to miraculously survive inside this barrel for several days, fortunately you guys saved me," Luff replied and avoided mentioning any important points.

The disappointment was obvious on their faces but he didn't care about that, he was wondering where this ship was headed and what kind of ship it was, was it a pirate ship, a merchant ship or a transport ship.

"Hey guys where are you headed?" Luff led the conversation, he got some important information.

First, this was a merchant ship heading towards Loguetown and would arrive there in a day.

Second, he smelled bad, so bad that he had to stand 20 feet away from anyone if he wanted to talk to them.

Third, he managed to get a bed in the crew room, well a hammock to sleep in, after a cold shower on the deck he was served some food.

A day passed quickly and Luff had a full rest, when he woke up , Loguetown was in sight.

The ship arrived and the workers started transporting the goods, Luff got off and said goodbye to the crew and left lightly.

The streets of Loguetown were crowded with pedestrians, merchants were moving back and forth and shouting was getting louder to attract the attention of potential customers.

Luff didn't care, his goal was to find a place to stay before wandering around and seeing the local sights.

Loguetown was the city of the beginning and the end, it was named so because the Pirate King Roger was born and executed here, it was ironic.

At the moment, the city was a prominent tourist attraction in the East Blue, the Marine branch on this island was led by Smoker, the owner of the Smoke Logia Fruit.

As the island closest to the Grand Line, it was the last stop before entering Paradise, because of that the security here was tight.

Luff could see several Marine patrols patrolling the streets as he walked around.

"Without Haki or Sea Stones, I have no way to beat him, it's best to stay out of trouble for now before leaving the island."

Luff's goal was clear, to spend some time on this island before replenishing his supplies and setting off on his journey to recruit his crew.

"There are many people to recruit in the East Blue Sea, hehe my crew will be special."

After some searching, Luff managed to find a place to stay, after putting his luggage down he set off on his exploration trip to Loguetown

Luff wandered through the corridors of Loguetown and bought the things he came for, training tools, some common medicines, and some new clothes.

His previous clothes were filled with the smell of vomit, even though he cleaned them, the smell didn't go away and a residue lingered on them.

He had no choice but to get rid of them.

Although he had some spare clothes, they were old and he wanted to renew his collection.

"Huh, isn't this the store where Zoro bought Sundai Kitetsu? this is the store where the famous swords are given away for free." Luff muttered after seeing the store's signboard where they were advertising a sale.

Luff walked forward and entered the store, the bell above the door made a small ring as he entered, inside was the store owner Ipponmatsu leaning on the reception desk.

Seeing Luff enter, he was revived and straightened up and greeted Luff politely.

"Dear customer, how can we serve you today?"

"I want to buy two swords, can I have a look?" Luff asked as he looked at the swords hanging on the wall, the shining swords with a sharp light that made one feel like they were actually being cut.

"Of course, of course, look around, all these swords are extremely excellent, in all of Loguetown I dare say that there are no swords better than mine." Ipponmatsu bragged loudly about the quality of his swords, it was obvious that he was trying to sell these swords.

Because of the Smoker and the Navy in Loguetown , there weren't many people who bought weapons, especially swords, the only people who came to buy from him were pirates and pirate hunters.

But because of the Navy, pirates didn't dare to roam freely in Loguetown so his business was extremely stagnant.

Luff looked at the swords on the wall, the least of them costing at least 100,000 belliy, Luff walked around and looked at all the swords and other weapons, eventually stopping at a corner where a bunch of swords were piled up in an unnoticeable barrel.

Upon seeing that, Ipponmatsu immediately stepped in, "Sir, those swords are old and not good, you can see that from their price, which is only 50,000 belly, I advise you to choose a much better sword, look here I have a good and strong sword, it can last your whole life and withstand many fights, it is only 200,000 belly"

Upon seeing Luff walk towards the pile of swords in the corner, Ipponmatsu's expression sank, from Luff's clothes, he could tell that he had some money but he had no experience with swords, when he was looking at the swords earlier he had the look of a spectator and not an expert.

Ipponmatsu could guess that Luff had never held a sword in his life and he was right, so he wanted to trick him by selling him an expensive sword.

At the same time, he was afraid that Luff would choose a bad sword that would cause his death, he didn't want his shop to have a reputation for selling bad swords that would cause people to die, and he also didn't want Luff's blood on his hands.

But Luff ignored him and continued his search, he was looking for the Sandai Kitetsu, he wasn't sure if he would find it here since it wasn't clear if the sword was in the shop at this time or not but there was no harm in trying

However, Luff's face lit up as he grabbed a sword from the pile of swords. The sword's hilt was wrapped in a reddish-brown color, with a golden clasp around its middle and a golden kashira handle.

The sword's scabbard was a deep red and continued the design of the hilt, with two short consecutive golden clasps around its middle. The kojiri end cap was also golden in color.

Ipponmatsu's face changed upon seeing the sword that Luff had taken out immediately.

Luff held up the sword for Ipponmatsu to see and said, "I want this sword."
