The ones who cannot forgive will seek revenge.
The ones who die before their vengance will fight to get out of the pits of hell.
No one has ever made to the surface.
Yet here I am. At the final level. Purgatory... one more and I'm back. One away from my revenge.
Now then... how do I get out of here?
Purgatory is a place where the not so bad not so good go. Where small sins are forgiven through waiting as a forced statue until your penance is completed by the gods that rule this world. Now as I stand around these souls, stuck in a position of praying with their arms and legs held down by iron. Dried blood from shriveled eyes. Blinded from lack of lubricant.
The further down I walk into this infinite path. Screams of forgiveness from more newly brought souls begin to reverb an echo. Their faces filled with an agonising pain of blood pouring eyes and retinal migraines.
From the distance I see lights. Are they Angels?
Possible. But why be down here I cannot tell what they are from this far away.
The closer I get the more clearer they become. It was a creature of light with blue wings of lightning which dried the eyes of the waiting souls. The being doesn't seem to notice me. Might as well keep moving. Might be lucky that they're not coming after me or maybe they can sense what I've been through.
Anyhow I believe that these things are no angel or demon. But something made for these sinners to feel judgement. Guess the religions got parts wrong.
