Chapter 9 - Secret Prayer

As night fell, Prince Veer quietly slipped out of the Dragon World and navigated through the dense forest toward the royal palace of Udaygarh. At that same moment, Princess Aarya stood at her window, her gaze fixed on the night sky. She was eagerly waiting for the one person who held her heart—Prince Veer.

Suddenly, a rustling sound broke the silence—the unmistakable sound of scales brushing against the stone as a figure slithered up the palace wall. Aarya's heart skipped a beat. It must be him, she thought, a smile forming on her lips. She knew that Prince Veer was now in his dragon form, sneaking into her room as he always did.

A few moments later, there he stood before her, his dragon form towering and magnificent. Without a word, Prince Veer changed his form back into that of a human and entered Aarya's chambers. His presence filled the room with warmth, but Aarya's face was clouded with slight irritation.

"I've been waiting all day, Veer," she said, her voice tinged with frustration. "How could you make me wait like this?"

Prince Veer chuckled softly, his eyes gleaming with affection. "Aarya, my princess, please don't be upset. I wanted to come earlier, but I couldn't risk being seen. I also had to gather some important information to help us with the special power we need."

Her anger melted away at his words, replaced with curiosity. "Did you find the way to unlock this power?" she asked, her voice softening.

With a grin, Prince Veer nodded. "Yes, with the blessings of Lord Mahadev, I have discovered the path. We will soon have the strength we need."

Aarya's relief was palpable. She had long ago planned everything around obtaining this special power, and it was crucial that Prince Veer succeed. Without it, all their efforts would be in vain.

Suddenly, Aarya's face softened, and she moved toward him, wrapping her arms around him. "Tell me more, Veer. What have you discovered?"

Prince Veer gently caressed her back, his mind racing. "There's a hidden source of energy, a sacred pond where the Dragon Gem's power resides. To reach it, we must face great challenges, but I am confident we will succeed."

Aarya's brow furrowed in concern. "But, Veer, it's said that no dragon has ever succeeded in reaching that pond. Are we certain that this path is the right one? It sounds perilous."

Prince Veer's eyes hardened as he gently lifted Aarya and set her down on her bed. His expression was calm but filled with determination. "Aarya," he said, "there is no other way. I will not stop until I possess that power, no matter the risks. I will obtain the power of the Dragon Gem—for you, for us."

Though Aarya's heart was heavy with worry, she trusted him. She knew that his love for her would see them through the most dangerous trials.

"Then we will do it together," Aarya whispered, her voice full of determination. She took his hand and smiled. "But first, you need to eat something. You've been so focused on your mission that you've forgotten to care for yourself."

Prince Veer smiled, realizing how much she cared. Aarya quickly returned with food prepared by Queen Yashodhara herself. Her cooking was known throughout the kingdom for its heavenly flavors, and even Prince Veer, who was accustomed to the finest delicacies in the Dragon World, loved the meals that Aarya's mother made.

As they ate, Prince Veer's eyes shone with gratitude. "To share this meal with you, Aarya, is the greatest joy I could ever ask for. If I could give up everything to taste this love and food again, I would."

Aarya smiled, touched by his words. "I waited for you to return, Veer. I knew you'd love my mother's food, and I wanted to share it with you."

After the meal, as they sat in the quiet of the room, Aarya's expression grew serious again. "Veer," she began, her voice soft but firm, "your journey ahead will be dangerous. I want us to pray to Lord Mahadev first, before you leave. Only His blessings can help us now."

Prince Veer nodded, his face reflecting his inner resolve. "I agree. This path is not for power alone—it's for you, Aarya. To be with you, to protect you. I'll do whatever it takes."

Aarya's heart swelled with love. "Then let us pray together. Let Lord Mahadev hear our plea."

"But where will we pray?" Veer asked, his concern evident. "If anyone sees us, it will cause trouble."

Aarya smiled, reassuring him. "Do not worry. We have a secret way. There's a hidden path from the royal garden to the Mahadev Temple. Only the royal family knows of it. We can go there under the cover of night."

That night, the moonlight bathed the palace in a soft glow as Aarya and Veer quietly made their way through the royal garden. Aarya, knowing the secret paths well, led the way. They arrived at the temple, where the tranquility of the night and the solitude of the temple allowed them to offer their prayers in peace.

In the temple's sacred space, Aarya and Veer stood together, offering their devotion to Lord Mahadev. With deep reverence, they performed a synchronized dance—the Tandav, the dance of creation and destruction, a dance that symbolized their unity and strength. As they finished the dance, a shower of flowers fell from the temple's ceiling, signaling Lord Mahadev's acceptance of their prayers.

Aarya and Veer exchanged a glance, their hearts full of hope. Veer spoke first, his voice steady. "Now, I am no longer afraid. With Lord Mahadev's blessings, I will succeed in this journey."

Aarya nodded, her confidence growing. "And so will I. We are not alone, Veer. Mahadev is with us."

As the two of them made their way back through the secret path to the royal garden, a sense of peace washed over them. They had offered their prayers, and now, with Mahadev's blessing, they were ready for the challenges ahead.

Back in the garden, Aarya turned to Veer. "You must rest, my love. Tomorrow will be the beginning of your journey."

Veer, understanding her concern, smiled softly. He kissed her forehead, then turned to leave, his heart heavy with the knowledge of the difficult journey that lay ahead. "I will return, Aarya. I promise."

With that, Prince Veer transformed into his dragon form and soared into the night sky, heading back to the Dragon World. Aarya watched him disappear into the distance, a bittersweet feeling in her heart. She knew the path ahead would be fraught with danger, but she also knew that their love would guide them through.

As the night grew still, Aarya whispered to the winds, "May Lord Mahadev protect you, Veer. Until we meet again."

And with that, she turned and quietly made her way back to her chambers, knowing that whatever the future held, her heart would always be with Prince Veer.
